Art People Rock
I wish I could thank you, but the statement doesn't ...quite apply to me.
Thank you.
And keep up the great work in the City Scoop.

*Sorry, that was just too perfect to leave alone.

I just wanted to take the time to tell you people, you true, real, actual artists, how wonderful you are.

Trying to figure out if I am a true, real, actual artist...
But what a great post, thanks.
((Just so y'all know, this post was made after midnight. I meant every word of it, but that might explain how some lines have the vibe of the creepy drunk friend going "No, you don't understand. I love you!"))
Dangit Tobay!
You have something against my pretentious stick figures?!

Yeah, Aerones, we'll come to you for help with the word "Straight".

All eloquence side ( )...
You people need to check out City Scoop and see what inspired this rant!
I agree, not only are the artist good, all the people found in this section of the forums are truly nice people. Not any of the other shizzle heads you see elsewhere on these forums. Bravo to the CoX art community!
Happy birthday After_Shock.
I'm not nice dang it! I'm a cantankerous old fart who messes around and make pretties to offset the rudeness! :P
Actually, I think many people here are open minded and support each other. Even the ones who can irk ya at times.
I look at the community as a good thing over all. It is not because of 1 person, but because of everyone. We have people who are true. They are true to themselves, and they are true to others. People here are smart and griefers don't get the chance to hang around long unless they change and stop being griefers.
Someone asked why I was giving my art away and I said that it was something that made me happy and it felt like I was spreading happiness to others.
Nothing wrong with spreading joy, right?
I just wanted to tell you all this, more as Marcian Tobay and less as Editor in Chief of City Scoop.
You people rock. Hardcore.
I'll save the entire explanation of what brought me to this another time, but I will tell you people this: I know nothing of Fan Art. I had, before City Scoop, zero appreciation for the community. Don't get me wrong. I respected you people, and was glad that you found something that made you happy.
When I, personally, thought of fan art, I always imagined pretentious stick figures.
Then, during the forming of the first issue of City Scoop, Lady_Athyna offered to go pick up some fan art to put in our paper. I wasn't EiC at the time, and we were all just grabbing in the dark as to what went in there. So, with a grunt and a nod, I basically let her go play off by herself.
What she brought back changed my perspective on you people forever. I just sat there, staring at that thinking to myself "There's no way people would put this much effort into fan work for a game. It's... they can't sell it, those characters don't, legally speaking, belong to them. They can't publicize it, they don't have the right to do so professionally."
Then it hit me. Art for art's sake, in it's truest form, was being shown to me.
And it was wonderful.
We'll continue to show the Art Section love, as we strive to do for all of our sections in the City Scoop.
I just wanted to take the time to tell you people, you true, real, actual artists, how wonderful you are. I use the word inspiring in the most literal and non-hyperbolic way possible. You people inspire me to strive to cover the rest of the community in hopes that we can strike gold once more.
Keep doing what you're doing. You people rock.
~Marcian Tobay
((P.S. Just because SOMEONE'S bound to misinterpret this, I'm just going to point out that we're showing the same effort and love to every section of our paper, and I love them all. If you want to know what compelled me to post all of this, sign on first thing tomorrow and read what the Art section is like this week. ))
