Before the Breakout (semi-open RP thread sign up)
((I think we had something like this going before... It got isolated and paranoid... It's a helluvalot of fun! I just wish we could keep up with it.
Of course, the intent then was no intervention by Arachnos. We created a nightmarish Zig, with a doctor experimenting on the prisoners, a brutal Arena in the sewer network beneath the structure, and a type of "Super Solitary" called the Abyss that killed nearly everybody who went in it.
I kind of wish we could continue it, but interest waned hard at the end...
I wouldn't mind getting in on this, though. I've made more proactive villain characters that I'd like to see in this environment.))

Re-reading my opening post, I realize I probably should have been more specific, so here are some additional details as to my plans.
First of all, I was hoping to have a storyline where the group of characters would "bond" while in prison. The idea, of course, is to remain more-or-less as a group after the escape, and then to face the oncoming Paragon City forces together. Because of this, there are some sorts of "prison" things - I think specifically of solitary confinement here - that I intended to use relatively sparingly (which is not to say that it won't come up, of course.) I was thinking of other sorts of "prison" things (the arena is a wondeful idea) as a more common usage, because they give the characters a chance to interact with each other ("You two! You're paired for this match! Go!") Also, there will be "secret spy" sorts of things going on in the background.
I would like to get some character information in this thread. I have opened the "before the breakout" thread and am working on getting it up to the Zig (it will be several posts but should be soonish.)
In the meantime if everyone could post their:

Character Name: Penny Arcade
Character Gender: Female, Age 20
Known Powers: None, but extensive resources in robotics and other technological gadgetry.
Brief Physical Description: Penny Arcade is tall and willowy, with brown hair invariably tied in a ponytail. Although she wears the typical orange jumpsuit of a Zig prisoner, underneath she wears sophisticated body armor. The authorities have not been able to find a way to remove it. It is believed that all of its previous functionality has been removed.
History in a nutshell: Penny Arcade was arrested by sheer luck on the part of the authorities. Known as an information broker and petty theft artist, there seems to be no reason why her file should be classified. Nor, as a non-superpowered human, does there seem to be any reason for her to have been sent to the Zig instead of a lesser-security facility, or be housed with the often-violent "supers".
((Well, Devious, I'm not sure... It's hard for me to wrap my head around writing out Power Breaker, Shadowshock and Sikk at the same time. I mean, look how rarely my actual villains show up in Shadow Manor...
I think I'd keep P.B. out of this... It's not the kind of role he belongs in. He's not a career super villain. This seems more a role for Shadowshock. Maybe Sikk later, if I feel like playing what he was like in prison... But a whiny teenager seems hardly the role I feel like dealing with...))

History: Shadowshock was one of the Family's muscle, back when he was Terrence Grim. One of their backalley docs wound up messing up big time when he used some experimental Crey serum to fix up Terry's wounds really fast, mutating the quick-to-anger man into Shadowshock.
Going into business for himself, Shadowshock was put into prison by Randall Grey when he thought the Hero was yet another of the clientelle of the bank he was about to rob...
"I checked the place first... Yeah, sure, Grey was a big guy, but he wasn't wearing spandex! Turned out he was off duty, too... But that didn't stop him from planting me into the ceiling... I swear... If I ever get my hands on him..."

Brief Physical Description: A trim, refined looking gentleman with a carefully maintained goatee. He looks a little haggard and worn from his recent experiences with Paragon's law enforcement authorities.
Nutshell History: A brilliant english botanist who lead a research group into Antarctica. The expedition went horribly wrong, and Dr. Greene was the only survivor. His mysterious ability to manipulate flora seems to have originated from that catastrophe.

Stats: Male, handsome, age 19
Known powers: Marksman and gadgeteer, leader of men.
Brief physical description: Originally dressed in what appeared to be combat fatigues from another time. Young, black hair, with youthful face twisted with rage and contempt.
Nutshell history: From an alternate universe where the Fifth Column succeeded in their plans for world domination, but were later defeated by a small band of heroes. He's come back to warn his father of the mistakes they made, but did not come back far enough in the timeline. Now he's stuck here, captured by enemy forces and without any allies.
Name: Keith. No known last name. Commonly referred to as 'Blind Messenger.'
Stats: Male, skeletal, age of most likely twenty-five.
Known Powers: Necromancy is a hobby of his, along with control over creatures and powers of darkness in general.
Brief physical description: Skinless, covered commonly by a dark cloak and hood, along with black cloth 'armour,' mostly for looks, and his skull is polished, usually with the cloth covering his eye sockets. Nobody really ever figured out why. He wears the normal orange Prison-garb, but he made himself a hood out of part of a cloth to cover his face, along with some spare gloves he found on the street to cover his hands. If not revealed, he would almost look completely normal.
Well, apart from looking both anorexic and bulimic at once.
History in a Nutshell: Blind from the age of nine, opening a book of darkness in a magic shop caused dark energies to flow through him, and he struck out at his former mentor, Experiment 2.0, for attempting to teach him to control his dark power he had attained. He attempted to teach himself, at the horrible cost of it taking him over from the inside out.
Hello everyone!
After a very, very long absence, I am back, and would like to begin a semi-structured open-RP thread. I am starting the thread more-or-less where I was when I left for my haitus: i.e., upon the release of the "city of villians" game.
Here are the rules I would like to have in place:
* No God-Moding! Try not to "fix" other character's problems or play them without their consent!
* While this will be a 'mature role play' thread, please no profanity or flames. I would like to have a thread where the players treat each other with respect.
* I will start a separate thread for ooc comments.
* While we all know that the characters will break out of the Zig, I didn't want to rush to the breakout right away. I would like to have some posts establishing characters and also showing what day-to-day life in the Zig is like.
* After the breakout, there will be a period of time with Arachnos, and then the forces of Paragon city will attack Mercy Island!
There is so much potential story in this section of time that I haven't planned too much past that, though of course we could go beyond that point at that time.
Who wants to go to the Zig? Hope we will have lots of sign ups, it should be lots of fun!
