See, my whole problem is I want to make a plant controlling character...but without using the cliche "made of plant" costume set.
What do you mean "cliched"? J/K! I know it doesn't exactly surprise anyone what her powers are.
I actually keep thinking I'd like to take a try at your costume, but just can't seem to find the time. Maybe this weekend.
Also-really its just her outfit that is a plant, not her. 
Do you have any thoughts about her origin/backstory that might help? Is she naturally linked to vegetation or is she an alien scientist who has learned to control it or do Venusians use biotech? Is Venusian vegetation green or some other colour? Perhaps that could spark a costume idea.
How did she come to the Rogue Isles from Venus? Did she come via a UFO? A seed pod fired from a giant Venusian Flytrap? Did she merge with the 'Lifeweb' and just spontaneously pop out of a rosebush in Atlas Park where she was arrested as an illegal alien?
How alien is alien? Are you open to 'inhuman' features (bioorganic, insectoid, etc)?
Having asked all that - here is a concept I came up with:
Woodwitch
The woody skin that covers her body is the Venusian biotech equivalent of a hostile environment suit that lets her live on Earth. It is self-repairing and also able to produce defensive thorns. She is gradually adapting her Venusian biotech so that it can control Earth vegetation.

Here's a close up and wow does the lighting in game make a big difference.
I kinda figured the coloration on her suit is a sign of where it is repairing itself from previous thorn bursts.
I've been having trouble coming up with a good costume for a character I created. I want a plant control/thorn Dominator.
It's a female alien from Venus...and she controls the alien plantlife found on Venus (as if Venus was covered in a lush jungle filled with Dinosaurs a la the theory of the 1800s).
She'd have a bodysuit that seals itself after being punctured by the thorns...so there's the information! She also might have green skin...
If anyone can take a crack at a costume I'd highly appreciate it!
