Regaining confidence in my artistic abilities
Looking forward to it! Remember, you only get 1 good drawing out of every 100 or 1000 bad ones, so I've been told!
My old illustration professor used to say that the only thing standing between you and a good illustrator is 1000 bad drawings.
But once you get those out of the way...
You just gotta draw draw draw, and when you don't feel like it draw some more, and when you're doing something else think about how much you would rather be drawing, and then go draw!
hmm
Bricka Braka firecracker, shish boom braw
Personamorpher!
Personamorpher!
DRAW! DRAW! DRAW!
It's really early and I'm gonna go draw now...
I'm about as likely to do a drawing that pleases me completely as I am to win the lottery while being bitten by a shark in a crashing airplane that has just been struck by lightning. But I can't help but love it.
Can't wait to see some artwork from you, persona! One of the great things about this forum is that you get 95% encouragement, 4.9% helpful critiques, and only .1% of posts that you should ignore. Good luck, and happy drawing!
There's a bit of a long story behind it, but basically I've lost almost all of my confidence over the years in my ability to draw and almost completely stopped drawing. I'm still quite anxious whenever I try, but I've been trying to get back into my artwork. I'd like to thank the people here for posting their collections of great artwork as it's been inspiring me to get back into creating more of my own.
I'd like to be a more active part of this community. It may happen slowly at first, but I hope that eventually I can become a regular part of this community. Once I get access to a scanner I want to scan and post all of my older artworks, and then eventually begin posting new creations as I complete them. If I ask anything of this community it is simply to be patient with me.
