When the World Broke (Open RP)
Keegan stood amazed for a few moments more, until the stares of the others could be felt burning into his back. He snapped out of the transe like state and turned to Acid with a nod. He walked to the door where Acid was and would walk in after him with another glance back at Moonscribe, which was followed by a shiver.
Essex's eyes widened as the mention of food caused her stomach to loudly proclaim its approval.
*gurrrgggllllleeee...*
"...Um." she merely said, quietly, unwilling to speak up any further.

Rosie's foot connected easily and would have knocked the robot over had she not been holding onto its claws. As it was, Engine's arms groaned slightly.
"Termination will continue in seven seconds," it said.

"I'd have to give him a D for effort!" Mr. Stegall cackled as the wave of light hit him and sent him tumbling backwards.
Somersaulting to his feet, Mr. Stegall pointed at Hal with his sword and waggled his eyebrows.
"No sleeping in class!" the demented teacher shouted as he was suddenly ten feet closer to Hal. "What was the answer to question number five in the homework?"
Mr. Stegall paused when he asked this question, almost as though he were actually waiting for Hal to answer it.

"I HAVE ARRIVED!" shouted the Wielder of the Painpipe as he walked into the ready room that Animator had occupied. "FOR WHAT PURSUIT OF JUSTICE AM I NEEDED TODAY!?!"
Animator merely smiled at the heavily armored tanker while several of the other rebels present hastily unplugged their ears and tried to look as though they had hear what Wielder said.
"We are arranging a rescue mission," Animator said as he gestured for Wielder to sit down. "Apparently the time has come to pass and we must gather allies quickly, or so the Commander has led me to believe."
"VERY GOOD!" Wielder shouted as he sat down. "FOR THE UNDERSHAFT OF GOOD SHALL FINALLY TOPPLE THE DECREPIT WALLS OF EVIL!"
"Indeed," Animator said as he removed a scroll from the pocket of his lab coat. "Now, does everyone have their equipment with them?"
"We're good, sir," replied Richard Sikes, one of the more experienced rebels that Animator was bringing with him.
"Good. Now, after we meet up with our new friends, we are to proceed to the main base near New Mu and link up with Commander Rosalind. We shall assist her in orchastrating the attacks."
"LET US BEING OUR QUEST!" Wielder said enthusiastically. "FOR THE SOONER WE BEGIN, THE SOONER GREAT JUSTICE CAN TRIUMPH!"
"Indeed," Animator said as the scroll in his hand flashed black and then disintigrated.
A swirling blue portal appeared in the floor in front of the old villain and he stepped over it without a second thought, falling through and vanishing. His golems followed immidiately after and they too were followed by Wielder and the men.
***********************************************
"Why hello there," Animator said to Dragonistic as he fell out of the portal behind her.
He stepped to one side to let the others fall through without landing on him and then looked back at the dragon mutant.
"How very nice to meet you. Are you perhaps a servant of the Overmagus?"
************************************************
"The signatures match?"
"Do doubt about it. They're in there."
"What fools, thinking they could hide in any city controlled by the Overmagus."
"All rogue metas are fools. These just seem to be more foolish than usual."
"Very well. Inform the Generals and the Overmagus right away. They shall want to be present when we display the severed heads of those who defy Archlich's glorius reign."

Kefetasura sat cross-legged on his straw mat.
"I'm so bored," he moaned.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
An oddly colorful string of shadow struggled up into existence, clawing and dragging its' way out from behind the massive tanker. Kefetasura pulled himself bodily out of the Weilder's shadow, a strangely irritated look twisted aross his handsome purple face.
"You people! Stop leaving me behind!" he barked.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
A fold in the blue robe of the mysterious man flapped of its' own accord, and a moment later a short man in flashy colorful robes burst forth from the shadow of the cloak.
"Ok, I get it. You don't want me here. Well, that's fine cause I don't want here me!"
A purple skinned demon glanced around at the confused faces.
"Trust me, it makes perfect sense."
"I'm sorry, sir," Hal said. "My Phantasm seems to have eaten it. Please speak with him."
There was another flash of light, and Hal was replaced by three other figures . . . a little girl dressed in pink armor, a tall security droid with an assault rifle, and a hero in red armor and a flowing cape.
The phantom Essex, Solid Shot and Experiment all attacked with shrieks, gunfire and spines, and the Phantasm came up from behind, raining light on the crazed tutor.
Meanwhile, Hal had leaped off into the distance, his speed masking his presence nearly as much as his radiation. . .
((Ohyeah, another post CoT thing. After that, his Phantom Army no longer includes himself. The two Hals are replaced by random people he knows and likes.))

"Very well," Moonscribe said. "Oh, and hello, Pharaoh," he said to Kefetasura as he appeared. "Do accompany us."
He walked to the kitchen purposefully, clearly knowing exactly where it was. . .
Cortianna blinked and shook her head as the psionic countermeasure went into place. As her grip on the machine faltered, she picked up everything in the office that wasn't nailed down (and a few that were) and began to pelt the Engine with them as fast as her mind could make them go.
Adding to her volley, she began to cast fire at the blocky head of the robot, all the while ignoring the blood that had begun to flow from her nose.

When in danger, or in doubt; Run in circles, scream and shout.
As Cortianna pelted it with objects, Rosalind connected eyes with her for a split second. She could feel the Ivory Engine beginning to give beneath her assault, and launched forward, forcing it down on the ground with a knee up on its chest area, a leg back to stabilize herself, and her claws firmly locking its blades into the ground.
"Black Queen to White Knight." she growled with a hint of malice. "Checkmate."
------------------------------------------
Essex looked utterly surprised at the appearance of Kefetasura. He was so colorful! His purple skin, brilliantly colored clothing...it made the child very curious.
Carefully tucking the Philosopher's stone into a fold of her little white shift, the frail little girl's feet made pattering sounds on the metal floor as she hastened her step after Kefetasura and Moonscribe.
"...H-hello." she said shyly, her large eyes taking the two of them in curiously and eagerly.

"You," Kefetasura sid cryptically down at Essex. "I know you. Well, not you, but your face. Maybe your hair too. Say? Where's your little green shadow?"
"My shadow is green?" Essex cried, turning in naiive bestartlement.
"N...No it isn't..." she protested quietly upon observing that it was, indeed, just a regular shadow.

Experiment raised an eyebrow toward the being that had recently arrived, and sighed. He walked to Acid, seemingly calm, and spoke low, as if it were some secret he were telling the humanoid lizard... thing.
Instead, it was a simple question.
"I just wanna know how the hell I know these freaks, geeks and magical girls... Wait, no..."
He then began walking off once again, randomly. "It would have to be singular... But then my joke would not work, as it was a play on the name of a previously well known movie with a similar name, but of forms of transportation... Wasn't it? Wow, I need to get out more... But where would I go? I mean, I went out for a stroll today, and look what happened..."
He continued this, going onto several subjects. It would seem he did this often, as he responded to himself.
And, if it went on long enough, people would find that he not only also argued with himself, he began giving himself the cold shoulder.
With that in mind, if he went on long enough, people may realize he was even more anti-social than they knew of if they knew him before. Otherwise, he would just look insane.
...
Okay, more insane.
...
Look, I will give you senile, but that is as far as I let it go.
...I put my foot down at anti-socially senile.
Xey paying to much attention to the man failed to sense a person fall on his back and knocked him to the ground. Thankfully his wings hadnt been injured in the fall and as Xey was allowed to get up from under person that fell on top of him.
"Not so good at gilding now are we?" Xey said with a smile while reciting magic words under his breath. Not seeing any wings or other flying device there had to be another person or thing that could fly he needed back up. Where was Thule when you needed him? Thought Xey. Not wanting to start a fight Xey waited to see the reaction of the person or persons he might be up against or be allied with.

a City of Heroes movie on the way?
Thuels radio crackled with a new message comeing in from OSAD-35 who was flying around in 'S.E.E.K.' mode. S.E.E.K mode was nothing more than an excuse for the insane little Orbital Sheilding Assualt Droid to fly around in cricles looking for things out of the ordinary. "Meatbag, you do realise that I could perform those repairs myself," OSAD-35 started to ramble "It would be nothing more than plasma torching the coolent together inside of you, then restoreing your memory cache, and clearing the DNS cable, then restoreing the IP..."
Thuel picked up his radio and pushed down one of the red buttons on the receiver to allow the transmission, and spoke: "You insane little robot, Im notta lettin' ya preform de repair ya crazy self," Thule started in his natural german accent and moved to his dull robotic tone, "You meerly described how to reset the WNC Connection, in that last part. Also you DONT weld the coolent compartment, that would just cause me to blow up. Lastly, where did you get the restoreing my memory cache part from? Playing Starwars too much?"
OSAD-35s cheerful and carefree tone changed to a more grim, and serious tone. "Agreed." OSAD-35 spat out into the buit-in-radio. He flew around the pramater of the wrecked and ruined city. He simply saw the normal poverty, opression, and dispare of the city while he flew over it. His grim and serious tone switched to a cheerful and carefree tone once more, OSAD-35 let out a series of beeps and clicks, and comenced on S.E.E.K mode.
Dragonistic folded her arms and looked, if a bit disdainfully, on at the strange man babbling to himself.
'Scuse me, but have you seen my future self?
----
Ink Dyne looked angrily at Xey.
"Not my fault, she dropped me!"
She pointed up at the sky where Dragonistic would have been, looking on. But she was gone.
Inky muttered curses under her breath. "Okay, she's red, scaly, and y' might see her as either some well-endowed dragon lady or a two-legged dragon with the most unnervin grin y've ever seen.

"Don't just shove me in your pocket, you stupid little girl!" the Stone ranted as Essex hid it away.
"Shut up... me." Midas growled. Then, to Acid, "Something to eat sounds wonderful, I'd love some time to clear my head."
"Ah, I'm terribly sorry..." Essex said, hastily pulling out the stone again. She looked to Midas helplessly as if to say, "It can't be helped" and trotted after the group, still carefully holding the stone.
As the Philosopher's stone was held close to the little girl's chest, Dr. Phillis' soul embedded inside began to feel the power of the stone resonating and pulsing slightly with a strange energy from Essex.
Her power was growing as she held the stone, and the rune on her forehead began to subtly glow...then less and less subtly as the glow became a bright glare.

"Dear, dear! What have we here?!" Kefetasura rhymed as he snatched the red stone from Essex. He began juggling it, though instead of just one there seemed to be half a dozen or more orbiting in front of him between his hands.
"Round and round the stones are tossed! Careful, else the soul will be lost! Don't drop the stone, don't let it clatter! Else on the floor, the doctor will splatter!"
"Aaah!" Essex cried as Kefetasura roughly yanked the stone from her fragile grip. "Y, you mustn't!!"
Flailing around to try to catch the stone, her wide green eyes darted to follow the juggled shards in desperation.
The glare faded into a subtle glow once again, the stone's amplification gone.

"Kef, be careful or he's gonna zap you." Acid sighed to Kefetasura as he walked out the open door.
He quickly stepped to a console in the adjacent room, which wasn't much to look at, as all it contained was the semi-transparent door to the cabin of a freight elevator. The door immediately slid aside, freeing the way into the cabin, and also allowing view to the diagonally upward-oriented shaft on the side of the cabin.
The elevator waited until all had stepped inside, then the door closed without hesitation and the cabin began its way upward. It was not clear what it was riding on, as there weren't any vibrations transmitted through the floor, but whatever carried it did so quickly, and in less than twelve seconds they had reached the top of the shaft. The door once more slid open.
Through a few more doors the journey went, until finally the last door, just as unassuming-looking as the others, slid aside and freed the way into the bridge.
Though a Gunship was huge by human spacecraft standards, it was really just a combat craft. It had no kitchen to speak of, and meals were either taken in the cabins or during downtime at your post. Therefore, the raised, semi-circular navigation area at the start of the bridge qualified.
As Acid stepped aside, he freed the view both into the bridge and beyond, out through the tansparent panes of armor that formed the 'windshield' at the head of the bridge. The entire room had been arranged as part of a circle, an incomplete wedge - right beyond the door sat the strategic section, complete with navigation, a large holodsplay that doubled as a chart table, and several chairs magnetically anchored to the floor, arranged about said display. The chairs looked futuristic, but comfortable, and anyone who sat down would quickly find that they actually were.
The tactical area sat just a little below the strategy zone, containing what people generally termed 'controls'; the pilot in a slightly lowered area in the center and the other four crewmen at their stations, arranged in the same somewhat-circluar pattern.
However, even with most of the instuments being 3-dimensional holograms, the crewmen themselves probably drew the most attention. The first thing most humans thought when they saw one of Allen's crew was 'werewolf', and for good reason - they looked quite a bit like skinny wolf-men, clad in simple black uniforms.
The planet 'hanging above' the ship only further estranged the picture, and for someone with calustrophobia, it was probably very unnerving to have a planet sitting above you, looking like it was going to fall on your head.
But neither Acid, Vern, nor any of the five crewmen seemed to mind the shining blue sphere floating above them at this point, especially the first as he walked to what looked like a series of microwave ovens and started putting a meal together on the holographic menu.
"Please, come on in." he bid his guests in, finshing his order, and a cooked ham was delivered into his hands. He bit in heartily. Food was good, "Nobody's gonna bite."
Walking to his own chair - which sat right behind the pilot, but on the raised secion, and turned so he could either face the chart table or the head of the ship - he asked the pilot, "Pilot, please take us out of negative return."
"Sure thing, Sir." the pilot grinned, and the Gunship flipped over rather quickly, though its passengers felt absolutely no force. It didn't even ocurr to anyone that their guests might get vertigo from this. With the maneuver completed, the planet was once again 'below' the ship now...

Kefetasura handed the stone back to Essex as they stepped onto the bridge.
"Hmph, nobody appreiciates fine art," he grumbled, though his eyes widened as he saw the planet hanging above them out the 'windshield.' The purple skinned demon scurried up to the window, his multi-colored garmets swishing along behind him.
"Wow!" he gasped, "I can see my house from here!"
((I'm sorry, but somebody had to do it!))
"Aah.." Essex squeaked, fumbling the stone a little before holding it securely. Breathing a sigh of relief, she trotted into the room.
Her eyes widened in wonder at the scene before her. Everything was so...huge, and technological. The image of the gigantic blue sphere above them...The little girl's lips, pale pink against the deathly white of her skin, were parted, frozen in place at the breathtaking sight.
"...It's beautiful..." she whispered.
Then Essex smelled food and her stomach loudly gave her a polite reminder of the purpose for going to the kitchen.
*GRRWWRRL...*
"Nnh..." she said, hurrying over to the microwavish machines. She observed Acid using the machine, and stood on her tiptoes, her eager eyes taking in the menu.
Essex was lost for a brief moment. A lot of this food she hadn't eaten since....since before the incident. When she was a tiny little girl. Even then, her memory was fuzzy. But then, she could nearly taste some of the sweet things as she looked at the pictures. It was strange - she'd never eaten them before, but she remembered their taste.
"...!"
As the 'microwave' produced a little bowl of hot noodles, her eyes lit up. Essex shifted the stone from hand to hand, unable to hold the bowl with both hands AND the stone...
