You need a flatbed scanner. They can be had for not too much dinero.

He he, you should get a scanner!

Or a tablet that lets you draw directly onto the computer. But if you aren't good at computer stuff then that probably isn't for you.

But I think you're talking about a scanner. I have an HP printer/scanner/copier that works pretty well.

Edit: This was Starchasm, Graver logged in on my computer and forgot to log out So pardon the *ahem* coherence and liberal use of smileys

((Oops, he saw me type that XD))

...you just need a scanner to "copy" the pictures into your pc. another way would be if you had a digital camera you could snap a picture and then upload said pic into your pc. although this last wouldn't be all that great a method ta use, depending on camera, so I would only use it as a last resort...or if a scanner is completely outta the picture at the moment.~

Is the stupid question thread?

Cause... well... most know I'm possibly the least techie person on the whole of the Co* forums... so... uhm... I've got a scanner... it's in the closet... up on a shelf... it worked like maybe two or three computers ago... yeah, anyway, the disks things that came with it that told the computer how it worked and all that... yeah, long gone. Anything I can do or do I have a really long, flat paperweight?

Well, I'd say there are two things you could do..

1) Plug it in and see if Windows has native support for it - I use MS Photo Editor to scan a lot of the time. Photo Editor is in the Microsoft Office Tools, if you have Office.

2) Check the companies website to see if you can download the drivers for that particular model.

depending on how old you'll more than likely need to download the drivers for that industrial sized paper weight...but a lot depends on how long ago 2-3 cpus were.~

Maybe a year or three. I think. My hubby builds pc for people so he's always got to have the newest and coolest gadgets. He's got three of them on his desk, and a laptop. I've got two, only one is hooked up, and a laptop. Whenever there's something he really wants, he starts building himself a new system, then I yell at him because I don't want two year old hand me downs and I get a brand new system.

Plus, he's got all kinds of licenses and stuff as a certified or whatever Microsoft dealer so now I've got some weird version of Windows. Instead of an hourglass, when it's thinking there's a little blue circle. It's cute. This time I also got a DVD-R drive (I think that's what it's called, a burner thing) and the little slot for the card from the digital camera so I can play with pics and stuff.

Wheeee!

I'll probably get bored later and check the scanner, see if the cords are still with it. If not, there's probably a few extra cords in the garage. It's like a computer shop in there. We finally got rid of all the busted monitors.

That reminds me, time to renew membership at the gun range...
