Alien Only Inn ((Open RP))
"Oh, mah bad, mah bad." Leeni said with a grin, plopping down in a seated position.
"The name's Leeni. Leeni Sunniol. Ushlax nicknamed me Twitch 'cause I'm...well, I'm twitchy you understand. Me an' my trigger fingers are both a li'l quicker than we need to be."
Thinking for a moment, she grinned. "And yeah, I've written a few. Dunno how famous the Ush is on this end of the galaxy though. Lessee, lessee....'Four Arms Isn't Enough To Hold You', 'Baby Absorbed My Felriddg', 'Get Away From My Pimp-[censored] Ship', and 'Delludian Rhapsody' to name a few."

"Oh, yeah, that sounds real high class." Rulaag grumbled. "I'm SURE that really furthers the races you give THAT to."
"Uhh..." Kreigg muttered stupidly, unable to conceal the fact that he had never heard of any of Leeni's titles before, "So, what's a Felriddg anyway?
"I always wondered that," he added hastily, Thankfully, Frosch arrived with the drinks at that moment and set them down with his usual good tidings
"Pur-tos."
Kreigg snatched up his glass and lifted it in a makeshift toast with one hand, nudging the other one closer to Twitch.
"Uhh... Purr toes to you too, and to a fellow freelancer."
Leeni waved her paw dismissively. "I ain't surprised. We aren't really from this end of the nebula if you catch my drift. An' you know, different tastes for different folks - I jus' write the tune and Ush fills in the words."
Pouting, she tipped her glass up to toast Kreigg, and then took a big drink, holding it in both hands and tipping it up to her lips.
"...The only one he let me write the words to was Delludian Rhapsody, and it's an instrumental."

Kreigg took a long, slow draught from his cup and regarded the diminutive creature. It was starting to sound more and more like this Ushlex character had abandoned Leeni on this planet in the hopes of getting rid of her, not left her accidentally as she had been asserting. He eyed her carefully trying to pinpoint why anyone might have done so. Kreiggs gaze rested on her weapons for a fraction of a second and he thought he had figured it out.
Twitch was a loose cannon? But she seemed so... well, normal wasn't the word for it, but she just didn't seem to be the psychotic killer type.
Ain't it always the one ya least suspect? he reminded himself. Maybe, but he sure as smeg wasn't going to be the one to bring it up.
"Well, that's more famous than I ever got, by Gurssk," he blurted out, breaking his unintentional silence. "I get by mostly on my good looks. And whan that falls through, old Kreigg can take a beating like none other."
He winced slightly when he realized he had just reffered to himself in the third person.
"I mean, I can take a beating... And these fists have seen some action too." He presented his mitts to Leeni for her inspection. "Handy skill sets to have in my unpredictable field of business."
Suddenly, 2247-U moved again. he hadn't done so in quite some time, and what he was doing while standing there motionlessly was anyone's guess.
Indeed, he quite liked the fact that the plasma-eating being hadn't discovered the fusion reactor deep within his chassis. His mechanical 'heart' operated on a plasma basis, and the Posbi really preferred not to have to fight for it.
But as the door swung open with a crack of thunder, coenciding with a streak of lightning across te dark sky outside, 2247-U had something to warrant moving again.
Cold wind and a ton of rain rushed in as a tall, gray-robed figure slowly walked into the inn, muttering something about the Council staying home.
A deep-green reptilian hand reached out from underneath the cloak and closed the door once again, and then the figure flung back the gray hood, revealing the rough shape of what humans theorized a raptor's head may have looked like.
"I hate Mondays." Acid stated as he headed for the bar...

((*LOL* Acid shows up and you instinctively go for Veronica...))
Leeni admired Kreigg's fists for a moment before nodding appreciatively.
"Ya know you could really mess some stuff up with those." she quipped. "Bet you'd make a glii drummer, too, man."
Pulling out a little pad of paper, she began scribbling something. Notes and arpeggios, broken up by percussion marks, flowed from her pen and onto the paper as she diligently worked with a quick, precise hand.
"...Sorry." she mumbled distractedly as she scribbled away. "You just gave me an idea."

Aurak perked up and looked over at Acid with interest.
"Nice to see another reptile on this mammal filled planet," Aurak said in way of greetings.
Statesman said let there be heroes, and there were heroes.
Lord Recluse said let there be villains, and there were villains.
NCsoft said let there be nothing, and there was nothing.
"Yeah, it ain't no thing," Kreigg said, craning his neck to get a look at the scribbles Leeni was working on. It wouldn't make any sense to him one way or the other for all he knew about music.
((*looks at Cuppajoe's avatar* Oh no! Someone who knows where the name is from! I must flee! *Flashbang gernade* To the escape pods!))
As Frosch went abotu handing out drinks to those requesting it he had an odd question to answer. "Uh Kriegg was it? You wanted to purchase a bottle of Reahu? I'd let it all go for about half of one of your silver nugge-" He stopped as the slug thrower was whipped out and stared for a moment. Unseen he pushed a button under the bar while he refilled the frog man's glass.
A few moments later and big grey hand grabbed the slug thrower and with one clean action took it from the frog. At first it seemed Cottus had gotten involved, but the creature, while it looked roughly like Cottus was much bulker and he had several scars on his body. He was Braireus. He was the same height as Cottus within millimeters and physically perfectly resembled him. He was after all one of three triplets, Cottus and Gyges being the others. He was a true bruiser of the group.
Frosch looked a bit embarced with just his eyes, "Sorry, but we try to discourge trouble. Pulling your gun on someone and just aiming it just can't be done. We let people keep their guns because other guys have natural powers and we can't remove those. Braireus, give him the gun back." He said. The grey brute handed him back the gun softly and turned to leave.
"My other job here is bouncer." He commented, "I assume that means I make sure the people bounce when the hit the ground on the way out." He said feigning stupidity to be a bit more terrifyiny.
Frosch looked down again, "Sorry again, I kinda paniced when the gun came out. Can I make it up for you? A free round perhaps?"
((Gyges, Braireus and Cottus can be found just about anywhere if anyone wants to go looking for them. They mostly just clean the place. Their race's name is Hecatonchires. and no, I don't feel shame in stealing mythology for my own purposes ))
((Just when I thought Greek Mythology couldn't get any more convaluted.... Thanks Hermod ))
Rulaag hissed with anger, grabbing the slugthrower. The acute of sight could see a puff of green surrounding the Frog.

((Your welcome.))
Frosch backed away from Ruugla a bit and went to the oppisite end of the bar to hide.
A soft melody came from Kreigg and Leeni's table, and then stopped. It played a little ways through again, a bit changed.
Leeni sat there, a tiny hand-scanner in her left hand and a contemplative look on her face. The music she had just written was in her lap, and as she scanned the device over the handwritten notes soft music came out of a top-mounted speaker.
The little rodent looked deep in thought until her face soured at one note. She clicked it off, erased, scribbled, and then ran it over that measure once more.
"Better...this is way better." she muttered. "The Twitch ain't never been good at writing extended fifths, no reason to get started on it today. Fsheesh."

"Well, I am glad that so many others appreciate our language," said Cafea. "But it would be nice if they could learn to speak it. It sounds nice, to be certain, but I rarely hear of humans playing recordings of the French language simply because of the way it sounds."

"Your eyes can deceive you." Acid smiled to Aurak as he approached the bar, "But I'll admit it's nice to come to a place on this rock where someone doesn't yall 'kill the monster' right away."
He eyed Rulaag suspiciously for a moment. How rude to just point a weapon at him right away.
He decided not to say anything to the frog-like being and - not quite sure why Frosch had hidden - instead turned to the Posbi, "Sorry I'm late, I had a little run-in with SVE units off Sector Morning Red. Seems the bounty on my head's been tripled and everyone wants a piece of me."
"Understandeable." 2247-U responded, scootching over a barstool for Acid to sit on, "You were not followed?"
Acid just grinned, "You kiddin' me? Of course I was. But Alan was nice enough to take some heat off me."
"Ah, the Igniter. How are his functions these days?"
"Oh, the usual. Still calls himself the Red Dragon, though. I'll never quite understand why. And he's still mad that the movie people here stole his name."
The Posbi seemed to blink all 'eyes' at once, "Why? He is blue! And what...?"
Acid held up a finger, "I find it better to file that under the 'does not compute' category. I suggest you do the same."
"Very well."
And then the music stopped.
"Hm?" Acid commented as he turned to the table where Kreigg and Leeni, "Say, why'd you stop? I was enjoying that..."

Aurak coughed and looked down mournfully at his empty glass, but didn't call for more. Instead he pushed the glass away and looked over at Leeni and her music.
"Could use some more beat," he said, mostly to himself. "Something you can move to."
Aurak rubbed the spot between his eyes to relieve of growing ache. He needed to get to bed soon.
Statesman said let there be heroes, and there were heroes.
Lord Recluse said let there be villains, and there were villains.
NCsoft said let there be nothing, and there was nothing.
Leeni blinked at Acid and Cafea.
"Wait...You mean music is a language? I mean it's like an interstellar language, I mean for sure, I'm a composer so it's like totally obvious in that regard. But I mean one with like words and stuff? Because I like knowing how to introduce myself in all kinds of languages! It comes from visiting so many planets with the Ush and picking up all kinds of stuff along with the cargo and if it's really a language like that I'd like to learn it if I could!!"
When Acid piped up, she blushed a little.
"Do you really like it? Thanks a bunch, man! I mean, music is what I do so I always try to compose somethin' that people like so I have a lot of practice with a varied audience an' all. But there are still things I have to work on in measure 41 because this extended fifth isn't harmonizing correctly with the alto line and it's important to have a strong alto line because it's like the mayo on the sandwich 'cause it holds it all together."
She ran the scanner over the measure again, erased something else, and scribbled in a few more notes.
"My man Kreigg here gave me a really glii idea for a new song so I'm writin' it ya see. It ain't really done yet but the percussion section's kinda the most important part so I have to pull out my dual synth in order to get that to sim out."

Kreigg stared dumbly as Leeni talked about music. He did't have a clue what she was saying, but she spoke with such conviction he just assumed she was right. He smirked in self-satisfaction when she told the assembled room that he inspired the song that had captivated all their attentions, leaning back on his chair and lacing his fingers behind his head.
"I like mayo, too," he added, desperate to try to add something worthwhile to the conversation.
As soon as the words left his mouth he knew he had failed.

((ROFL! I aims tah please! ))
Frosch did his best not to chuckle at Kriegg's comment, but it's hard to hold noise in when you don't have a mouth. "I'm not much for music bu-" He was interrupted by a loud thump which was followed up by a several hasty steps towards the stairs. Another Hecatonchire emerged, like his brother's Cottus and Braireus he was almost a perfect clone of them. The real defining characteristic was compared to his brother he was a runt. He looked around with his slim head teeth bared. He looked at Teide, "Are we under attack?" He asked confused by the obvious lack of any concern by the other patrons. Teide noticed that he was still holding a mop that had been scaled up for his size and it was still dripping wet.
"No Gyges, everything's fine. Why do you think we're in trouble?" She asked.
"I heard some sort of sonic attack, I swear ma'am." He said looking about.
Teide looked at Twitch, "One of our patron's was playing a song Gyges." She said.
For a monsterous creature that he was he looked surpisingly embaressed. "Oh... Sorry." He said, "No offense, it's just..." He looked a Teide, "We hear things differently, and that sound sorta hurt a bit. Sorry, I'm sure it was great." He added hastly.
"Now Gyges, shouldn't you be wearing some protection, I did warn you about that." Teide said.
"Right you are ma'am." He said hastly and left in a hurry, "Sorry for the disturbance." He said halfway up the stairs. Teide just sighed, putting to many different life forms in one place was proving a bit trying.
Frosch looked at Twitch, "Sorry about." He said, "Anyway, it's quite nice. I ussually like them a bit quieter to be honest, but it was good none the less." He said as he poured them seperate drinks. Kriegg's was the original he had ordered on entrance, Twicth was getting to drink the intergaltic equivalent of Vodka mixed with some sort of wine like drink that truth be told, was fermented bugs, giving it an odd sweet and sour taste. Frosch liked experimented with drinks when no one asked for anything specific.
Aurak slid off his bar stool and into a seat at Twitch's and Kreigg's table. He sat down, adjusted his robes, and looked over at what Leeni was writing.
"So what was this I heard about drums?"
Statesman said let there be heroes, and there were heroes.
Lord Recluse said let there be villains, and there were villains.
NCsoft said let there be nothing, and there was nothing.
Kreigg got Froschs' attention, signaling for two more drinks and figuring he wasn't going to need to hand out anymore cash for the time being. He vaugely remembered something about 'good for six more drinks,' though if that was not the case he could afford it.
"Space Bunny," he repeated and chuckled at the thought. "So, uh... The Twitch, you ever write anything I might have heard?"
