Moon Missions
Unit 1 stepped through the airlock and waited for depressurization to complete. While the airlock cycled through it's process unit 1 soaked in everything he had witnessed, then with a hiss the outer doors opened and unit 1 activated his cloaking device. Once outside he calculated the time it would take for him to get to moon base beta with the reduced gravity and began leaping across the surface in the direction of moon base beta. He stopped long enough to test a theory on how effective his flight boosters would be up here and before he could shut them off he was in sight of moon base beta and what appeared to be some sort of fight he had no interest in.
He took this oportunity to sneak in one of the side access airlocks and just as he got there a team of 12 longbow came running out the very airlock he planned on using. As they finished piling out of the airlock Unit 1 snuck in, and waited for the airlock to return to its normal pressure. As he waited he saw a glimpse of who he thought was S6 running by to go see what was going on. Unsure of who it might have been Unit 1 switched his IFF transmitter back to its original Paragon Security code status, while he did this he also changed his appearance to its original form also. When the airlock finally returned to neutral status he caught a reflection of himself in the glass and was satisfied with the look he chose, the disguise consisted of a blue beret, a blue flak jacket, and blue tucked in cargo pants with a white stripe down the side tucked into combat boots. It was the perfect U.N. costume, which was his original disguise to begin with.
Once he was inside he realized that fleishman never told him where he could possibly find them, which left him high and dry on where to look. He didn't even know what to look for, so he stopped a scientist walking down the hall and asked him.
"excuse me, you wouldn't happen to know where the X-C condensors are stored do you?"
"uh hmm... yeah take the third elevator down to tech labs, then go to requisitions and you should find them there." replied the scientist.
"thanks" said unit 1, meanwhile thinking to himself " I'm glad i got to keep this omega level security clearance, i'm gonna have some smooth talking to do to get these parts."
As Unit 1 proceeded down the elevator, the scientist he just talked to said to himself, "wait a sec, when did the U.N. get involved up here?" as he said that another scientist walking by replied "when isn't the U.N. getting involved in anything."
As the doors opened unit 1 saw how large the base really was, this floor alone had thirteen tech labs that he could see and there were undoubtedly more labs on the other floors. Unit 1 finally made his way over to requisitions and saw behind the desk a short older man with glasses reading over some of the paperwork from the previous day.
"uhm excuse me, are you the person I need to talk to about requisitioning some X-C condenser's?"
the older man looked up from his paperwork and looked a little surprised for a few seconds then said, "oh my, I didn't even see you walk up. Yes I am the requisitions officer for the base, you said you needed some X-C condenser's eh? Do you have the necessary paperwork for these son?"
Unit 1 pulled out his Omega level security clearance card and replied, "This is my paperwork sir, we need these down on earth asap and this base was the only place that even had any left. The warehouses on earth are backlogged for weeks to even get on the waiting list for these things. The U.N. is hereby requisitioning these parts for classified projects."
"well... I guess since you put it that way, i'll go get 'em for you." as the requisitions officer walks back to get the condensers unit 1 hears him mumbling to himself "Damn United Nations brats, like they got nothing else better to do than interrupt me"
"how many of these do you need?" yells the officer.
"as many as you can spare!" yells unit 1 back to the officer.
"WHAT!! you need that many? did I hear you right? you want all of em? But we need the twelve we have!" yelled back the officer obviously mishearing unit 1.
"uh yep we need all of em" yelled back unit 1 while at the same time thinking to himself "how the blazes am I gonna get all of em back, and how big are they anyway."
The officer returns dishearted and hands unit 1 a steel briefcase and says, here they are, all tweve of them. I hope the U.N. is happy, some of our scientists needed these for projects you know."
"The U.N. is very happy with moon base beta's cooperation, if you'll excuse me I really must be going." replies unit 1 as turns to leave. Unit 1 sighed tohimself and thought " atleast they aren't heavy."
Once he got back into the elevator he quickly opened up a storage compartment in his back and stowed the briefcase away safely. Just as the doors opened letting him know the ride was over. He steped out and headed back to the airlock he used earlier and could still hear the fight continuing on outside, but dying down fast. As he stepped into the airlock he reactivated his cloaking device and waited for the airlock to cycle through letting him know he's clear to leave. He hears the airlock hiss open to the outside lunar world and steps out and starts sprinting and hopping using the lunar gravity to his advantage getting him a good distance away. "well's the easy parts done, now I gotta get back. Guess i'll leave my hero transponder on till I get close to alpha base just incase."
"Mother goose, this is Hansel. The gum drops are going back to the gingerbread house. little red riding hood couldn't make it to the party, i'll bring the scarecrow down yellowbrick road. over?" radioed unit to alpha base.
"this is mother goose, we copy you Hansel. The muffin man can't wait to get those gum drops for the new gingerbread man.
We've got you on the crystal ball, come fly the friendly skies. over and out." replied Alpha base.
"good they know this is my hero frequency, so now I just have to hope they don't shoot me on accident. I wonder what fleishman's up to with whoever or whatever that was I saw on the way out anyway. Guess i'll find out soon enough." unit 1 thought to himself as he got closer to home.
"Oh yeah, I was hired to protect you. My bad," said Toy as he dropped a detention field on Spion. The machine gun rounds and magnum bullets rebounded and richocheted off the sheild as Toy concentrated and pulled it back out of the line of fire.
"Sorry, but I think you should let me handle this."
"With what?" Spion angrily asked, his voice muffled by the detention field.
"With us," said Combat Toy as it and the other bots stepped out from cover and launched a barrage of missiles. "Heads up!"

Spion grumbled as he poked the detention field. Stiff resistance, nothing he could do. Well, at least the guy was on his side, and a vitually impenetrable shield wasn't something to be sneezed at.
He started preparations just in case his new ally would end up needing his help...

As the smoke from the fire cleared, Essex's eyes widened behind her blast shield. That was Toy! What was he doing here?
She hesitated, unsure of what to do. Was she supposed to help him or attack him? She certainly didn't want to attack him. For one thing, he was leaps and bounds stronger than she was. For another, he had helped her and proven himself a friend - at least in her eyes. Essex had good judgement, but at times she was a little too trusting for her own good.
Glancing down, she realized - she didn't recognize these others, either. Just who were these people, and why were they fighting? Essex noted the approach of several Longbow, startled by the noise and ready to fight off any impending threat to the base.
"Ah...!" It seemed as though the situation was closing in from all sides, and the pink android felt as though she was in the middle of the situation. Suddenly, she bit her lip, and turned towards the Longbow. The high intensity humming once again rang through the air.
"Kyaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!" she shrieked at the approaching Longbow. The piercing wail caused many of them to stop entirely, their space-suit comms blanking to loud static, and the sonic energy of the shockwave blew back the first wave into the second.
"O-oops..." she said, halfheartedly, glancing nervously down at the continued fight. "My targeting computer's going a little fritzy..." That was a blatant lie, and she hoped that it managed to buy the others some time - villain or not.

((I is return-ed.))
"TAKE COVER!" Yelled Reikoff as the missiles swarmed towards himself and his two elite operatives, diving backwards nearly thirty feet in the low gravity....
...Bumping right into some Longbow.
"[censored]!" and a flashbang later, it was only stunned Longbow and several force-fielded mercenaries on the plain of battle.
-----
"Goddamnit." Marcus muttered to himself from the Maltan's crater cover some 300 meters away.
"Thanks for the help, guys!" Toy said to the stunned Longbow. "I caught this spy here and I'll take him back to base."
Turning to Spion, still encased in the detention field, Toy grabbed onto the shield and dragged it behind the hill he had hid behind earlier. Switching off the shield the moment they were out of view of the Longbow, Toy patted Spion on the shoulder and said, "Run."
Toy quickly followed his own advice, his bots loping along behind him.

Spion didn't have to be told twice. As he bounded away alongside the bots, the first granted invisibility to all of them, then Toy, and finally, himself.
The Malta would have a tought time pursuing them even if they got past the Longbow now...

Essex remained hovering there, nodding very slightly as she saw them flee - and then vanish into midair.
Longbow agents ran out for backup, panting. "Where did they go!?" the Flamethrower agent in front asked the floating android.
"I don't know...." Essex murmured. "There was a skirmish out here, and a large fire. I put out the fire, and then everyone vanished..."
She didn't mention what she knew about the intruders.
"I don't think they'll be coming back, though, now that they've seen our numbers." she lied through her teeth, causing her internal capacitors to shudder. It was unnatural. She hovered back down to the lunar surface with a sigh.
"I think I need a recharge." Essex murmured.

Fleischman's eyes glittered with greed as she snatched up the condensors from Unit 1. "Excellent..." she gloated, eyeing them inside the suitcase. "These will do nicely. Now then..."
She flung the sheet off of the figure she had been concealing. Another android, somewhat similar to Essex, but taller, leaner, more streamlined, was beneath it. This one looked like a slim teenager as opposed to Essex's resemblance to a child. Armored in black and maroon, sleek steel her hallmark, the new android hung lifeless on the table.
"By making my own modifications to that stupid chip - I made a Free Will Allowance Module of my own." Fleischman murmured, half to Unit 1 and half to herself. "This will be my first test...my first prototype."
After inserting the condensors, something whirred and moved. The figure shifted. "Assign my designation...master." the android said, rubbing its eyes with the back of a hand.
"You are..." Fleischman pondered for a moment. "...Zealstorm. My assassin. My prototype. My masterpiece."
"Very well." The newly created Zealstorm opened her eyes fully. "And who are you?" she said, levelling her gaze on Unit One.

"I am Infiltrator Unit mk1. My primary role is to infiltrate hero groups, discern their possible weaknesses, record them in action, and return any and all data possible to central command. My secondary role is a ranged weapons support unit and I am capable of emergency teleportation of injured teammates. Senior Warrant Officer Fleishman will be pleased to know that during my radio silence with the 5th column I created an updated Assassin unit based on my designs, he is currently stationed in bloody bay being field tested courtesy of some unwitting ARACHNOS operatives." said unit 1 to both zealstorm and fleishman.
Unit 1 turned to Fleishman and said, "if you would like I could attempt to make radio contact with unit 2. I am sure he could be put to use up here in some form or another. Although I must say I am unsure how he would be able to get here since I came through the portal at Beta base."
Turning back to Zealstorm, "Perhaps once your programming is complete we'll be assigned together as an infiltration strike unit in the near future. In any case welcome to the 5th column."
He then turns back to Fleishman and says, "mission complete, I await further instructions"
He looks at Fleishman with his cold robotic stare awaiting orders....
"Perhaps...perhaps not." Zealstorm said with a level gaze.
"Unit 1, splendid idea. Please make contact with Unit 2. I will have a word with Becker immediately to arrange for him to be --"
"--Useless." interjected Zealstorm.
Fleischman turned. "What?"
"Useless." repeated Zealstorm, eyeing the scientist. "I have watched you from the moment my sentience chip was brought online. I may not have been able to move, or speak, but the minute I had sensory perception I have been watching you. You disgusting sack of flesh...all you think about is your own advancement, even at the expense of your peers."
"What's going on?" Fleischman said under her breath, backing. "Daniel never had this problem with his androids..."
"Your obsession with 'Daniel' is another sign of your weakness. Your presence will not be tolerated any longer, Senior Warrant Officer Fleischman. You work in ways that are destructive to your cause and thus must be obsoleted."
"Do not presume to speak to me in that manner," Fleischman snarled, "Or I will -"
Those were the last words she ever spoke.
Zealstorm's fists plunged forward into the scientist's solar plexus, crimson energy surrounding them brilliantly as she caught Fleischman completely flatfooted. The tech's heart thudded with the impact and she dropped to the floor, dead nearly instantly with the force of the assassin's strike.
Zealstorm lifted her eyes to glance at Unit 1. "Do what you like. I am leaving this place."
With those words, the android vanished, seemingly into thin air. All sensors came up as blank.

"Well that was fun," remarked Toy as he skidded to a halt out in front of Alpha Base. "Why don't you go check in on whats-his-bloodsucker, the intel chief. I'm pretty sure he's the one you'll want to deliver the goods to. As for me, I think I'm going to sit out here and take in the sun a bit."
Kicking off, Toy utilized the moon's lower gravity to jump up on top of the airlock and recline on the slightly inclined plane of the roof.

Inside the base, alarms began blaring the instant it was discovered that Flieschman's bio-signs went flat. The command room was instantly locked down, with a heavily armed rapid reaction force taking guards positions at the intersections leading to it. Other personnel scrambled to get into pre-designated safe points, such as the armory and several large common rooms. Zenith Mekmen deployed from wall niches all around the base and began patrolling the base, searching for any intruders. Given that the alarm that had been raised meant that someone had snuck into the base, each five Mekman patrol included a single Hoverbot varient loaded down with extra sensory gear instead of missile racks.

After hearing the alarms unit 1 commed into the command center.
Unit 1 thought to himself over and over, "do what I like?" then concluded that "do what I like" served as a viable command even though it wasn't from a ranking officer he'd just pretend it was from one. Then he came up with an idea to help Zealstorm escape.
"this is unit 1, I have found Fleishman's body but no sign of the attacker. They could have gotten out before the security protocols activated. I am proceeding to the secondary airlock and will deploy an auto turret. Unit 1 out."
After finishing his transmission unit 1 looked down at fleishman and muttered to himself "I never liked you anyway." then stomped on her neck, breaking it and ensuring that she was infact dead. He then hurried off to the secondary airlock to ensure that it stayed unlocked for a certain intruder who suddenly needed a way out. When he got there he found a warwolf and a vampyri guarding the airlock, when he got close enough to them they turned and looked at him with a questioning gaze.
"I am here to cover this exit, you are needed in more important places than here i'm sure." Unit 1 said to the two columnists.
"sure. we could be back on earth, but I suppose we could go check the armory. We'll be back though to check on you, you don't look like to can fight to good." replied the vampri. the warwolf simply growled.
The two columnists hurried off to the armory and the vampyri muttered something about this better not being another drill cause if it was he'd run outside the habitable zone and kill himself.
Once they were out of sight Unit 1 checked to see if the doors were locked, which they were so he unlocked both doors then activated his own cloaking device and simply waited with the inner door open and himself leaning on the wall invisible .
Kommandant Bäcker practically fumed as the base went into lockdown. Standing at the center of the island in the control room, he quickly and logically gave orders.
Fleischman murdered - just like that! Somebody would pay for this!
"Guten Tag." a voice suddenly called out behind him. He spun around, pistol in hadn, but lowered it again when he saw the man Fleischman had hired on before their demise.
"You can speak English. Don't worry, everyone will understand. Wait a minute...this base is in LOCKDOWN! How did you get in here."
"Trade secret." Spion replied, looking about a little unsure, "Have I come at a bad time?"

Zealstorm crawled like a spider on the upper rafters of Moon Base Alpha. Human slime. Killing each other. This race was self-destructive and idiotic. Once the android regained her bearings, she would commandeer some playthings - but for now she needed to escape while things wound down.
Fleischman's fatal flaw in Zealstorm's design was a process that Dr. Daniel West kept in secret, but was of the utmost importance. Essex's chip, and the chips of her brothers, had undergone a procedure where they were hooked up to a situational generator. There, over the course of several months, the chips were exposed to situations, consequences, morals, learning the difference between right and wrong.
Zealstorm had no such conditioning. The android had free will, and her artificial sentience was enraged at the presumption of being used as a servant to an obviously inferior and more disposable race.
Soon, she approached the secondary airlock, being guarded by only Unit 1. The android froze, invisible. Her visual sensors didn't pick up the other bot, though something was not right in the area. She knew something was there...just didn't know what.

Unit 1 muttered to himself while he waited for Zealstorm to make her escape, "damn Assassin bot's gotta learn some tact on where she kills people." Just then a lone 5th column trooper happened to walk by the secondary airlock, a lone trooper unit 1 recognized from when he was first created. A lone trooper Unit 1 vowed to kill. Unit 1 hid inside the airlock and waited for the soldier to pass by. As the soldier passes by unit 1 grabs the soldier from behind, covering his mouth and paralyzing him by breaking his back. Not enough to kill him, but enough to make him wish he was dead. Unfortunately this made Unit 1 partially visible to anyone in the immediate vicinity, but as far as he knew there was noone around but him. Seeing a locker across from the airlock unit 1 drags the soldiers body to it and stuffs him behind some bulky emergency pressure suits, then tapes the soldiers mouth shut so he can't cry out for help. "it'll be a long and painful wait for someone to find you Konersman, I hope you enjoy the wait as much as I will." says Unit 1 as he closes the door and locks it, he then walks back to the airlock and checks his chronometer on his wrist and goes back to muttering to himself about how "she better hurry up and get through before the patrols head back this way."
Unit 1 snaps his head up seeming to look in Zealstorms hidden direction then slowly keeps looking past her almost as though he caught a glimpse of something in the corner of the visual range. When in reality he had been switching his visual modes and had indeed seen her, he just wasn't going to show it.((IR goggles are nice things to have.))
"You have great skill."
The voice of Zealstorm was low and echoed from just behind Unit 1. She had watched him dispose of the unfortunate 5th Column....er...Columnist? 5th Columnist? Is that right? No matter. While he had been distracted killing the man, she had quickly moved in towards the airlock.
With those words, the small side exit opened and she was gone.
Rocketing over the Lunar surface, Zealstorm surveyed her surroundings with cold calculation. THis would be fun.

"Airborne hostile." Marcus grunts, pointing to Zealstrom.
Curtis happily draws his magnums, loads in a clip of mini-missiles, and begins to fire without plan or prompt.
The cowboy's reasoning: "I'm bored as hell."
"Now that's interesting," remarked Toy as he saw missiles arc up toward a red colored flying thing. "I wonder how that'll turn out."

Reikoff easily blasted the M30 with his sniper rifle, the incredibly lucky Malta being blown down just enough by the recoil to have the bullet miss his head.
As the flames died down and their opponent smacked in his next clip, the Malta seized the chance.
Bursting from his cover, Curtis loaded explosive shot and took a careful bead with his magnums.
The heavy pistols roared to life as Marcus and Reikoff provided additional machine gun fire.
