I read the whole thread and was about ready to say the same thing... There are several self-rez powers available in CoH...check em out. My Peacebringer's self-rez has been most valuable to me since available.
Theres a 'researchlow' as well, you drop to one knee and then do the same thing as research with the book.

this is a response to what the_TT said about someone res self. THEY USED THE REVIVE INSPERATION! 
Question...what's the emote for where the character leans forward, and puts one hand straight out in a "Lets go this way!" manner?
Actually, I found it. It's the emote done with the "GO!" and "NOW!" commands under combat, but I'm wondering how to do the movement, minus the words.

Why would someone assume a self-rez is an emote?
Why not make the obvious assumption and guess that it might be an actual power they were using?
