Bio Posting opportunity
Definetly was intrigued when I met your toon at the SG fair, and also read your bio then noticed that you talked in RP. It's what motivates me to posting it here...
Voyager
Born and raised in Paragon city, Thomas Bane grew up like most kids, happy and always up to no good. His father was a drill sargeant for the military and his mother a nurse. Not much can be said about his upbringing, he was smart and considered very intelligent among his peers. His main problem became apparent around the age of 14, when he suddenly realized that he didn't need to study to obtain a passing grade. After which, the rest is as follows, he became lazy, unconcerned and uncaring about his future, believing his intelligence would protect him from the hard times. His parents confronted him often, maybe once too often, and at the age of 16, he went out into the world on his own.
From then, until the age of 48, nothing exciting crossed his path. Moving from job to job, never staying long enough to make real friends, Thomas Bane ended up a night shift worker at the Terra Volta nuclear plant, washing floors. His fellow workers would describe him as a recluse, not socializing with anyone, but friendly enough at times.
When the Ritki invasion occured, Bane was at work, as usual, and did not quite understand what was happening. After the ground shook twice, in a furious manner, the alarms at the plant fired up, and everyone started running, including him. An immense detonation then happened inside the reactor, killing many who were in the direct vicinity. Panicked and afraid, he ran for the exit.
Before he could reach it, Bane was blown through a window by the shockwave of a secondary deflagration, and fell three stories down onto the floor. Unconsciuos, but lukily barely injured, he stumbled his way towards the nearest exit, which led him directly into the chemical storage tank facility. Another explosion, as he was entering the room, sent him flying in the air, and unable to control his trajectory, he landed into the liquid onyx tank, where he drawned.
The radiation that permated the area then, saved him, to a degree. He emerged from the tank screaming, eyes burning and skin imbued black by the onyx. Crawling through the deadly atmosphere, he made it to the outside world, where he stayed for weeks, unable to recall the details of his life, or of what had happened.
That's when the Circle of Thorns found him. Intrigued, an Energy Mage by the name of Mary Jenkins brought him back to Orebanga, where they tested and identified his nature. Upon realizing the power potential resting in this man, the Circle of Thorns proceeded to a ritual, to center his soul, using the help of magical tattoos, Thomas Bane became himself once more. For months, he trained his abilities in the abandoned city. He couldn't leave it, but was allowed freedom of movement inside the walls.
He fell in love with Mary Jenkins, and the two of them had a son, which she named Akritar.
As time went by, Bane began to feel more like a prisoner than a guest, and started dreaming of the blue sky and fresh air of the outside world. His hopes were answered in the form of an attack on the magical city by the supergroup known as the F.R.O.N.T. They had managed to destroy enough magical wards for him escape while the Circle of Thorns were busy defending themselves. He resurfaced in Paragon city 6 years after the Ritki invasion, leaving behind his son and wife forever.
Only a few months after he was free, Thomas Bane began to appear as a hero in the city's newspaper, which referred to him as the Mysterious Stranger. Not really pleased by the alias given to him, Bane lef the city, to end up in the Himalayas, where he meditated long and hard about the nature of his self. A year later, he came back to Paragon, to fight crime once more. And when a journalist asked for his name, right after a terrible battle with Dreck, he answered : Voyager
As time went by, he became fast friends with the Riders of Apocalypse, and became an honorary member, then a full pledge one. He fought crime side by side with Cavalier, Star-Crusader, Bloodrock and Turbo Starr, feeling centered for the first time in years. But it wouldn't last...
During a mission in Crey's Folley, Voyager was captured by the Countess Crey, and was held captive for three days. During this time, the Riders went out in force to locate him, and free their friend. During this time, Crey Industries tested out a new powerful drug on him, which was supposed to suppress powers in the target. The effects of the drug on Voyager were unexpected, instead of neutralizing him, it generated a chemical imbalance in his blood stream.
The Riders managed to free him, and he spent a few days recuperating at the hospital, all was well. Back on duty with the Riders, he sent out into the city to arrest the criminals once more. But this time, something different occured, something he couldn't control. While fighting low ranking Hellions, he found himself unalbe contain his anger and temper. Hellions died that day, along with a few civilians, and damage to city property amounted close to a milion influence, which Turbo Starr had to pay.
The Riders kept him in the active roster for a while more, but it became clear that Voyager, Thomas Bane, was unable to control his powers. After two weeks of disordely conduct from the controller, the city authorities and the Leaders of Apocalypse held a reunion where it was decided that for the common good, Voyager would be sent out on the last known frontier of human exploration. There he would be free to use his powers in the manner he had been recently. Crey Inudstries came into the picture and offered to graft him with a transponder, which would allow easy tracking of his movements. Branded, banished and bitter, Thomas Bane was escorted to Portal Corps, and sent out into Firebase Zulu...
The rest, as we say, is history...

Santiago Matamoros, St. James the Moorslayer , the patron saint of Spain that inspired the crusaders of the Spanish Reconquista.
Matamoros, fierce and merciless agent of order that now roams the sewers, rooftops, and back alleyways of Paragon city. Nothing is known about this mysterious enforcer, but there are several theories regarding who he is and where is origins lie.
Conspiracy theorists obsessed with the mysterious nature of Matamoros insist that he is a part of the endless battle between the Church and the Illuminati over control of the human race. They say that Matamoros is a member of the Inquisition, the Church's arm of brute force used in physical battles against the agents of the Illuminati. Theorists have speculated that Matamoros was born in Spain or perhaps a Latin American country. The few that have survived his onslaught recall hearing an obvious Spanish accent when he "passed judgement" upon them. Some theorists go so far as to say that Matamoros is somehow involved with Legion Technologies and Defense Systems, a worldwide weapons manufacturing conglomorate, which, in turn, connects the conglomorate with the Church. This theory is usually passed off by the "experts" as crazy talk by tinfoil-hat toting bafoons.
Another origin theory states that he is an anti-terrorist super-soldier, genetically engineered by a join U.S. and E.U. operation. The West, tired of getting bogged down in political and military conflict, decided to make a small army of super-soldiers to conduct operations against terrorist cells instead of using large, cumbersome, conventional armies. This theory is seen as more reasonable than the Illuminati-Church conflict theory, but it is still seen as improbable by most.
The most commonly believed theory is that Matamoros is just a crazy psychopath who donned hi-jacked power armor from the leading industries in Paragon and is currently on a rampage though it's streets.
feel free to contact me, I might have an image done of the character by then, or you could make a quick newb char on infinity and we could get a screenshot?
Backstory for Cthula (infinity):
Where to begin? Well I guess it kind of starts with me being a semi normal girl. Well okay not quite 100% normal because I was adopted and my parents didnt want me to know the exact circumstances about it.
Something about being involved with some cult and heroes, but they didnt want me to know even that much. My parents, adoptive parents are really nice folks; very caring I really do love them. And they always said I was a pretty girl when I was younger, but you know how parents are.
In fact they still try to say that about me now, you can tell their lying but I can't blame them, and they don't really hold it against me how I look, then again in paragon city people dont even bat an eye about how I look. But like I said their real nice and they always call and send letters, just there are fewer face-to-face kind of interactions.
I'm getting ahead of myself though; you see it really was a nasty crazy sort of cult that my REAL mom was a member of. And its not even the every-day mundane sort of nasty crazy cult either, I would have been getting off easy if it had been just one of those cults that commit mass suicides and stuff.
But no I wasnt lucky, or maybe I was, cuz I prolly would not have been born if this werent the kind of cult that it was. You see this cult was all about trying to bring their god into the world and they even had some followers that knew a thing or two about some really creepy dark magic.
Now their was some big problem with actually opening up a gateway to where their god was, who the hero teams and FBI tell me was actually something very big and very nasty that we are all very lucky didnt have a chance to go marauding around the countryside.
But the cult leaders and their magic user types and all that junk, they couldnt manage to open up a gateway big enough for their god to come through. But they could make one big enough for my real mom to go through, and I think they might have tried with a lot of others before she did.
Now, Im sure you can kind of guess where this is going, and your right in that something happened on the other side there.
I personally get a nasty case of the creepy crawlies even NOW when I think about just what must have happened to my real mom, but anyway then she had me, a lil perfectly normal seeming baby.
And some time shortly after I was born a hero team and the feds broke up the cult, they tried to find something wrong with me, but there wasnt a lot of DNA testing stuff back then so they were not really sure what to look for. So they put me up for adoption and hoped for the best. I got adopted before I was even a year old, and my parents have been great ever since.
But well, I cant say it was my eleventh birthday, because it didnt fall exactly on the date it was more like two months after the eleventh, That was when I got really worried because I started shedding my skin.
It gave me and my folks a real scare, freaked me out. And it was really really gross. Itchy too.
But that turned out to be the easiest thing to happen to me because then I also hit a nasty growth spurt and my hair started falling out.
Now most of the time mutants get to have pretty easy and simple changes, you can make a bit of fire all of a sudden, or maybe your skin turns blue? You turn into a giant walking rock? Anything. In fact it usually happens pretty fast for them too.
But not for me, nope I get to have a nice long 10 months of getting more and more freaky and strange and completely hysterically loosing my mind.
My folks took me to a doctor of course, but they could only surmise that something was weird about my genes, they concluded I wasnt going to DIE from it but that was it.
So then we open up the case of the cult where they found me, and this really cold kind of FBI guy sits me down and looks me in the eyes.
And he tells me about who my real mother was, and also about the candidates of who my real father is.
I think I took it pretty well, my parents did too, and I didnt scream or start freaking out about being the daughter of some monster until the next day. When it kind of sunk in
and my eyeballs melted out (I was blind for about a week while the new ones grew in).
It was actually about that time that we decided I needed a therapist, not because I was crazy just yet, but because this whole thing was going to drive me crazy. It actually took a while to find some one I could really talk too, although being blind helped a bit, I couldnt see what else was happening to me (at that point I wasnt shedding skin anymore).
I dont think my mom
my adoptive mom managed to sleep for days, I hadnt been able to go to school since the whole skin shedding incident.
Eventually we did find a nice man, he didnt sound revolted when he saw me, and the government was willing to pay him to take the load off my parents.
That really helped me out a lot, he would listen, he knew when to ask questions, and when to just let me vent. I wont go and say what his name is, after all I live kind of dangerous now and I cant repay such a kindness with death threats and kidnapping attempts.
But I will say that I probably would not have managed to be the heroin I am today if he hadnt helped me through that difficult time.
After my eyes grew back me and my folks got together with my therapist and had a long talk about what I was going to do, oh man was I sight, the changes had finally settled down, and my face
well, theres a reason I cover my mouth up and its not because I need to hide my secret identity.
Im sure if I had been raised by the cult that they would have adored me and sent me off to wreck havoc and all that evil culty stuff. I dont like to think about that too long because there is this nasty little squirmy kind of thrill that shoots up my spine at the thought of sending my spines through the hearts of so many.
But after that I always feel awful and guilty about it, I kind of wish I had tear ducts so I could cry.
My therapist was a specialist in mutants and the genetically abnormal mind, and he had discouraged a lot of patients from going off to be heroes in paragon city. But in consideration he said that I could probably fit best under those circumstances of a hero. In fact he said specifically that I should either peruse a career in heroics or set aside a good amount of my time in physically strenuous and distracting exercise to help vent the instinctive aggression that my inhuman side was pumping through my system.
So I guess here I am in paragon city, doing what may be precisely the opposite of my birth mothers intent for me
but thats alright I kind of like the rush of knowing that I am spitting In the face of the purposes that I was born for. Even if I sometimes get a chill at the thought of what might have been.
