Tick-Tok was just getting up off the floor when he noticed the girl being kidnapped.
"What the heck is going on?!" Tick-Tok said as he took a neat sip of his tea.
"Oh yes, and sorry about going "Haywire" on you"Tick-Tok said as he lifted the table and set it down in he correct position.

"Mr. Dark you mother-!" Shadowhand began to run after Mr. Dark as he flew away with Gun Slinger in tow, but was stopped by Supernovus, who used his telekinesis to throw him back into his chair. "What the hell are you doing, Hero?!" Shadowhand yelled, glaring at Supernovus. "That son of a [censored] is getting away!"
Supernovus shook his head. Around the table, he had the rest of the team held against their will thanks to his telekinesis. "I know you all want to stop him." Supernovus said, looking around at his friends. "But we can't rush in like that against someone like Mr. Dark." Supernovus's expression grew solemn. "The only thing you would succeed in is getting yourselves killed!" Most of the team calmed down at this point, but Shadowhand was still struggling.
Sword Strike X adjusted her sword across her shoulders and looked at Shadowhand. "Shadowhand, when Mr. Dark... converted you..." Shadowhand's expression changed to a much softer one for a moment, then quickly returned to a defiant snarl. "Do you remember where he took you? To perform the... conversion, that is?"
Shadowhand finally stopped struggling, trembling with rage as he turned to Sword Strike X. "I don't remember alot about my 'conversion'..." Shadowhand said the last word with utter contempt. "All I remember was that is was dark, and painful." He turned to Supernovus. "VERY painful."
Solarblaze thought the matter over. "There are alot of dark places in the city..." She began, turning to her brother. "It could be a million places!"
Supernovus shook his head. "We have to find the one that helped us free Shadowhand." He said, his eyes glowing a brighter white as he said it.
Aurora Blast gasped at this, and Thunder Crush scratched his helmet, trying to remember who Supernovus was talking about.
"Mr. Light?" Solarblaze asked. "We wouldn't know where to start!"
"Well, we'll have to find some way to get in touch with him." Supernovus said matter-of-factually. "In any case, we can't stay here any longer. We have to get in touch with several VERY secretive contacts."
"What are you talking about?" Radiationshield asked.
"I'll tell you about as we travel." Supernovus said, using his telekinesis to remove all the glass and broken furniture from the floor. Using his mind, Supernovus reassembled the tables, chairs, and front door of Tony's diner. When he was finished, all that was damaged was the small hole that Mystic Flare had damaged earlier.
"Please accept our apologies for all the trouble." Sword Strike X told Tony as the group began to leave.
"You'll be getting a call from m... my friend about the window." Mystic Flare said, shaking Tony's hand. "Good luck with the business!"
Supernovus led the group outside and used his Group Fly ability to carry the group into the air.

Mr. Dark, having used his cane to open a portal while flying to escape back to his home realm, was carrying a now-unconscious Gun Slinger. She had managed to grab her Assault Rifle and shoot him in the face, so he had taken the rifle from her and hit her across the head with it.
Mr. Dark flew into the dark, dark chamber that he had used to perform the ritual that had created Shadowhand. Placing her down on a small, raised plataeu, he was interrupted by the sound of his master's voice.
" Leave her to me. I have more important business for you to attend to. "
"Of course, master." Mr. Dark smiled, looking into the void. "What would you ask of me?"
" I need you to go to the Whitmoore Apartments in Paragon City. Some events have occurred there that I need you to attend to. " The voice bellowed. " This is a crucial operation, my servant. I am temporarily disengaging the rest of my servants from their worldly duties so they will be at your disposal. "
Mr. Dark smiled inwardly. "So, I'll be commanding the entire team, then?" He asked.
" They will meet you at the Whitmoore. I will tell you what I demand of you when you are all there. NOW GO! "
Mr. Dark bowed slightly and opened the portal back to Paragon City.
"It looks like Paragon City will soon be under the influence of my Master!" Mr. Dark thought as he approached the Whitmoore. "Thousands of innocent mortals screaming he pain and agony..." His eyes grew ever darker. "I get excited just THINKING about it!"

The doors opened again, and a lone figure stood in the doorway for a moment, surveying the scene, her eyes pausing a moment on each of the patrons before she stepped inside. "Never know what you'll find in a place that caters to heroes," Dancing Edge thought to herself, the corners of her lips turning upward in a wry smirk. Still, evidently arriving too late to see what had just transpired, she walked across the room to the bar, finding herself a seat.

She cut a striking image; not so much beautiful as dangerous, though she was not attractive by any means. Flame-red hair, almost unnatural in the intensity of its color, fell about her shoulders, and the green of her eyes stood out even at a distance. She was dressed in a black leather jacket and pants, trimmed in the same red and blue one would find on a flag. Her movements were graceful and measured, as those of a dancer or a martial artist... and the nature of her art was clearly displayed by the katana that hung at her belt.

Once seated, she looked up at the bartender. "The weapon isn't a problem, is it? I mean, this being a hero bar I figure there's others that could do a lot more damage than me..."

The door to the bar opened once again, and four Heroes came in and took a seat.
"Hello, welcome to Tony's Bar and Grill!" The waitress said, smiling as the three took their seat. "How can I help you today?"
"We'll have four orders of Devil's Food Cake." Mr. Knives said, smiling as he stroked his white beard. Mr. Pain nodded to the waitress, and Mr. Maul was able to grunt in response as he jerked around in his chair, unable to keep still, and Mr. Death took a sip of his water, not acknowleding the waitress. The waitress, a little offset, quickly walked back to the kitchen.
Mr. Knives was rather old for a Hero, his white hair and beard circling his wrinkled face. He was wearing a black fighter's gi with a red trim, and had black sandals on his feet. His hands were old and wrinkled, yet appeared to be quite strong for someone his age.
Mr. Pain was a BIG man. Towering over most Paragon citizens, his enormous, rippled muscles stood out on his shirt-less upper body. His pants were black with a red stripe running down them, while his watermelon-size feet and hands were also bare. His short, brown hair was styled in a buzz cut over his rather solemn face.
Mr. Maul was the shortest of the group, a bit smaller than an average Paragon Citizen. He was wearing a bright red shirt and black pants, complimented by black boots and black gloves. He had a black belt of gadgets across his waist, two straps of grenades running over both of his shoulders and down his chest in a crossing pattern over his shirt. His long hair was a bright red, and towered over his head like a spiky pillar. Most interesting, however, was that he constantly fidgeted and jerked around in his chair, looking around constantly as did so.
Mr. Death, in contrast, sat calmly in his seat as he sipped some water. He was of average height and build, and was wearing a black suit and black pants, complimented with black dress shoes and black gloves. A red tie complimented this outfit, as well as a black and red hat, similiar to what mobster's wear, that covered his black hair. His entire body was so covered by clothes the only skin you could see of him was on his face.
Mr. Death looked up, made a slight gesture to the rest of the group, and instantly the group broke up and introduced themselves to others in the diner.
"Hello there, ladies!" Mr. Knives smiled at Sibling and Gal O' War, Mr. Pain right behind him. "Hope you don't mind if we get acquainted!" The two Heroes sat themselves down at their table.
"H.. h... Hey there!" Mr. Maul said, stuttering as he took a seat next to Tic-Toc. "You're tic-toc, tic-toc, TIC-TOC, RIGHT?!" Mr. Maul yelled the last line quite loudly. "I'd like to get to- get to know you..." He said, continuing to fidget in his seat.
"Well, hello there." Mr. Death said, calmly taking a seat at Dancing Edge's table. "You seem to have a nice weapon there. I know some things about weapons..." Mr. Death smiled slightly at this, then quickly changed his expression back to normal. "Allow me to introduce myslef: My name is Mr. Death."

Mr. Maul pondered the question as he continued to jerk around in his chair.
"Why, from a d-dear fr-friend..." Mr. Maul finally said, his eyes twitching as he looked at the mechanical Hero. "My n-name's Mr. M-Maul."
Mr. Maul wasn't used to sitting still and talking...
Mr. Maul's hand reached for one of his grenades, then quickly back to the table as he continued to jump around. All the while, he thought his usual thoughts...
"Maim, destroy, KILL!" Mr. Maul thought, continuing to look at Tic-Toc. "KILL, destroy, KILL, BURN! Hehehehehehe..." Mr. Maul's thoughts wandered...

"Hello there, ladies!" Mr. Knives smiled at Sibling and Gal O' War, Mr. Pain right behind him. "Hope you don't mind if we get acquainted!" The two Heroes sat themselves down at their table.

"They're are going to come over here, Gal." The young girl's voice was concealed laughter, "Be nice!"

As the older gentleman seated himself next to Sibling, the immense man tried to squeeze in next to Gal. If was humorous more for the fact that small table was already crammed from her size, this man dwarfed her, he got about one half of one leg under the table, balancing awkwardly near the edge.

"If you're bein' friendly, you can pay the tab, handsome," the black woman said to her new seat mate, not budging to make more room. She batted long, dark lashes at him. Sibling snickered into a napkin and reached across the table to take Gal's resting hand.

"If you are looking for tail, so are we." A great, blindingly white smile broke across her face. "If you get my drift. Sib and I, we're married, see."

The smile was not warm, but was certainly satisfied as the two men turned to look at each other, a certain puzzlement in their faces. When they looked back to where the ladies had been, there was only a business card and the bill. The face of the card said: "Hero Psychiatric Services" and had an address in Kings Row. The back had a note, written in perfect calligraphy script: "Careful what you wish for, you might get it."

Once they were alone, Mr. Knives and Mr. Pain dropped their mask of politeness.
"You let them get away!" Mr. Pain said to Mr. Knvies, about to punch him in the arm. Mr. Knives grabbed Mr. Pain's arm before he could do so, however, his hands now sporting razor-sharp blades emerging from the tips of his fingers.
"I've been an agent for over 200 years longer than you have, so learn how to act to your superiors!" Mr. Knives said, throwing Mr. Pain's arm to the table. Mr. Pain glared at Mr. Knives.
"Still, it has been awhile since I've gotten an assignment." Mr. Knives thought, remembering what their Master told them.

"It seems like everyone's here." Mr. Dark smiled, looking around at the team. They were standing alone by the Whitmoore, a dark void swirling next to the group of 7 agents. The agents now turned to the void and knelt down. "We have assembled as you requested, Master. What do you ask of us?"
" I need you to retrieve the Emerald of Darkness. " The booming voice came from the void. " It contains great Evil power that will help ensure the destruction of Paragon City. However, I know it is in the possession of a Hero. However, I do not know exactly which Hero has it. You will each be assigned to 7 Targets. You will befriend them. You will find out if they in fact have the Emerald. If they do not possess the Emerald, you will kill them. If they do, you will retrieve the Emerald, then kill them. Then you will bring the Emerald to me. "
Folders appeared in the 7 agents' hands.
" DO NOT FAIL ME. NOW GO! " The void disappeared.
The 7 agents opened their folders.
"Oooh, I've got a hot guy for a target!" Ms. Shade crooed, licking her lips sultrily. Each folder contained all the information on the target that had ever been recorded in this world. "I wonder if he tastes as good as my last one?" Ms. Shade's mind wandered back to her last target in Paris. After disembowling her target, she had licked her fingers clean so she wouldn't show blood as she left the building. "I'm excited already!" She smiled wickedly.
"I got some chick Hero named Dancing Edge." Mr. Death said, his smile mathcing the wickedness of Ms. Shade. "Hey, don't you think it's a little unfair to be sending a group of immortal agents against some pathetic little crime-fighters in spandex?"
"I just think of it as accepting the way of the universe." Mr. Dark smiled, closing his folder without naming his target. "Ms. Hack, what target did you get?"
Ms. Hack didn't answer, however. She was still tinkering with her state-of-the-art portable computer, accessing files at the Pentagon, etc.
"MS. HACK!" Mr. Dark yelled.
"Some guy." Is all Ms. Hack responded, continuing to pound on her keyboard.
"I got a Clockwork! I got a Clockwork! Hehehehehe!" Mr. Maul bounced up and down as he read his target's information. "Name's Tic-Tic-Toc! Gonna KILL! GONNA BURN! Hehehehehehe!" Mr. Maul continued to bounce around.
"Remember your mission, Mr. Maul." Mr. Dark scolded. "You have to gain his trust first and find out if he has the Emerald. THEN you can kill him." Mr. Dark smiled.
"KILL! KILL! BURN! KILL! MAIM!" Mr. Maul continued to chant.
"I got a pretty muscled-up chick." Mr. Pain said, looking at his folder. "'Gal O' War, huh? This is gonna be fun." He smiled.
"A simple Sibling for me." Mr. Knives sighed. "Well, my claws are thirsty for blood, and they don't care whose." He smiled wickedly and looked around.
"Alright, let's go." Mr. Dark said, and group disappeared in a flash of smoke.

"Anyway, it's not like we lost them, anyway." Mr. Knives said, pointing to the adress on the table. "They simply chose another location to die."
Mr. Knives smiled at Mr. Pain, and Mr. Pain returned his smile. They then quickly left for King's Row.

As the bar doors opened, a short hooded figure walked in accompanied by a short spiky haired gentleman.

The hooded one had a cowl covering all of his face giving the illusion that that he had no eyes. His hood and his cowl were blood red, disturbingly so. He was wearing skin tight camo with the same blood red color and black. His jeans were baggy and were the same odd color camo.

On the other hand his partner had a sort of comic look to himself. His jet black spiky hair appeared to be held in place by cement, for it never moved or changed shape. His attire was a different story altogether he wore a pair of black goggles with the center of the eyepieces an odd lime-green tint, making it seem that he had an enormous pair of green eyes. Upon further inspection you could make out the red lines that flowed under the surface of the lenses, happened to be an advanced targeting system. He wore a tight fitting white long sleeve shirt with an electron pattern running over it , the sleeves were tucked into his large banned gloves that appeared to be armored. His pants were baggy with the same electron pattern and his boots matched his gloves.

“Why the hell do you make me do things like this” the hooded one said reluctantly sitting down in the nearest booth to the door.

“Because, if I didn’t you would live in Creys folley, and that place just is not safe.” The spiky one replied taking a seat opposite him.

As they took a moment to survey the heroes around them hey noticed that the place looked relatively new but it was pretty beat up.

“Damn! there are a lot of people studied in the ways of the samurai in this town” the blood red one said looking around.

“Why are you so surprised Vondor, you cant be the only Katana-wielding being around these parts,” he said picking up the menu “But I am surprised at the number of people who have guns it just cant be safe”

“Oh calm down Silver( Silver Haze ) you can shoot better that any of em.”

“what can I get ya” The waitress asked

"Umm well i guess that we will have 2 Burgers 2 slices of pie and some of that nice looking cake those men over there are having." said Silver Haze flashing a grin that would charm the birds out of the trees.

Refering to the 2 men that sat with the large woman.

Vondor was looking in the direction of the men , and chanting ancient incantations every second he was glowing more and more untill he looked like a frigen christmas tree

"would you stop showing off" silver said

"Be careful and shut up, there are many evils in this room" The Hooded one said

The doors to the bar opened once more, and a small girl walked inside.
She was VERY young, perhaps the youngest Hero in Paragon City, being 10 years old. She was wearing an EXTREMELY oversized overcoat, one that was meant for someone three times her size. The overcoat itself was black, and covered most of her red outfit, complete with red boots. Her meium-length black hair rested on her shoulders, and her face was adorned with thick glasses. Most unusual, however, was that she had a small, portable computer in her hands, and her eyes NEVER left it's screen.
Somehow, however, she managed to walk right up to the table where Silver Haze and Vondor were sitting. Still typing on the keyboard of her computer, the waitress looked in bewilderment at the strange little girl.
"Devil's Food Cake, please." She said to the waitress, still not taking her eyes off her computer. The waitress nodded and jotted her order down.
Finally taking her eyes off her computer, she looked first at Silver Haze, then at Vondor. "Hello there, Vondor?" She said, smiling as politely as possible. "My name is Ms. Hack. Pleased to meet you."

Silver looked at the little girl with a curious glance

"Well hello there little girl I am Silver Haze but you can call me Silver, and as you apparently already know this is my friend Von..." He was cut off from a sharp kick from Vondor under the table.

Vondor slowly rose and drew his sword, still alight from the ancient incantations. As he did so he removed his hood and shawl revealing his face (if you could call it that). It was a grotesque affair, all of it red and black. In the place of where his eyes should have been were 2 indentations covered by skin and a scaly substance. His chin was elongated with black stripes around it. This things mouth was like any other mouth you would expect to see except for the absence of lips. In place of his nose there were two slits in his skin, there weren’t any visible ears or any hearing orpheus for that matter.

He rasped out his voice clearly different from the earlier tone he had. “Neither you or I are of this world…”

“Oh scheesh Vondor do you want to give the little girl nightmares?” silver interrupted in a disappointed tone. “I built you the voice thing so you wouldn’t do this” He add

Vondor continued “Tell me dark one what business do you and your associates have in this dimension?”

Meanwhile Silver trying to comfort the little girl “Don’t mind him honey he is just a big mean hero, who needs to put his hood and shawl back on.” He said in a matter of fact tone.

Ms. Hack looked between the two Heroes, then shoved her head into Silver Haze's chest and began to sob.
"He's so SCARY! Make him stop!" Ms. Hack began to cry, placing her arms around Silver Haze.
"And I would suggest you also put away your sword." Ms. Hack said telekinetically so that only Vondor heard her. "Your little incantations can't kill me, anyway. And neither can that sword." She looked out quickly from Silver Haze's chest and shot Vondor a wicked smile. "So unless you want me to kill your friend right now, you'll sit down and we'll have a nice, quiet conversation like old friends."
She returned to sobbing in Silver Haze's chest.

Dancing Edge cast a dim look at the man who had taken the seat next to her at the bar. There were too many suspcious things about this gentleman. He was asking about the sword she carried... which might not be unusual if there was anything remarkable about the blade at all... but other than its high quality, which could scarcely be determined with it still sheathed, there was nothing to mark it as special. Then there was that name. 'Mr. Death'. Finally, the suit. Not many people walked around in black suits in Paragon, and even fewer of them frequented hero bars. It didn't add up. Did he fancy himself some kind of amateur assassin or something? Certainly didn't sound like any kind of Hero to her... and she could find nothing about him to recommend associating with him. "What do you want?" she asked, her tone a bit on the cold side of neutral. Better to get the conversation over with quickly and have him out of her way.

At that moment, she suddenly realized the bartender hadn't answered her yet. Must have gotten distracted by another customer. Waving in his direction, she asked, "Can I get a beer, please? Whatever you've got, but not the cheap stuff please."

Mr. Death kept his eyes on Dancing Edge as he adressed the bar tender.
"A Devil's Food Cake for me." Mr. Death said. The bartender looked at him strangely, shrugged, and told a waiter Mr. Death's order.
"Well, this one is as cold as ice." Mr. Death thought, eyeing Dancing Edge and her sword. "I might as well get this assignment over with." Mr. Death began to concentrate on his right hand.
"Well, I just came to ask you a few questions." Mr. Death said, smiling as he continued to concentrate on his right arm. "You've got a nice sword there. Great craftsmanship."
"Let's see..." Mr. Death thought as he ran through his options in his right arm. "The Gattling Gun? Fun, if a bit messy. Grenade Launcher? Well, that certainly would make quite a mess, now wouldn't it? The Star Destroyer? That's a bit of overkill..."
"Straight to the point..." Mr. Death said, narrowing his eyes as he prepared his weapon. "Have you ever heard of something called 'The Emerald of Darkness?'"

The noise in the Diner had quieted some, opening rush, Tony hoped. Already, a good portion of his establishment stood in disarray: Tables broken, window shattered, floor splintered in places and piles of dirty dishes from only a few heroes. He shook his head, and his wife thought the Rikti Invasion was bad...

A cool wind brought his attention to the shattered window. Though there were several patrons between him and the front, none seemed to notice, and he saw none of the menus or napkins were disturbed by the breeze. Unsure what this was about, he walked to the door and opened it, catching sight of an older woman in a light blue cloak, just outside.

He held the door open when she stared at him, but the cloaked head shook side to side. One arm rose from her side, and held out a fair sized stack of Influence Notes. He didn't understand, staring from the Notes to her lined, but unworried, face. What did the woman want?

The woman's other arm rose, tracing a figure in the air. To Tony's surprise, a screen, like an info booth, appeared and hovered in the air before the business owner. Type began to appear, one complete word at a time.

*My friends* the images of a young lady clad in a grey unitard and a large dark-skinned woman in a flak jacket, *Sibling and Gal 'O War, have been here.* Tony nodded unconsciously, not looking directly at the woman. That was fair, her face was hidden beneath the cowl.

*There was some loss of property, not solely by their hand or deed, but loss. Innocents shall not bear such so long as there are old ones to protect them, too many have been lost in the past. One innocent is worth more than any ten heroes, we had so hoped time would bring knowledge to them.* Tony stood transfixed by the screen, impossible as it was, he could hear the sorrow from the woman in these typed words.

Again she held out the Notes, and placed the stack in his numb hand. Pulling the arm back, she made another glyph in the air, and the window shards flew back into place. The frame was whole again, the window better than new and sparkling clean. Jackie, inside and unaware of the goings on, gasped as the piece of table Gal had broken away disappeared from the counter, and reattached itself to the table, no seam or scar left.

The aged woman's mouth curved up slightly in a smile, devoid of humor, but motherly. *There are those who would deceive you,* the screen glowed, *In your place of business even now, evil makes it's plans, does it's work. I may not interfere, except where my children are concerned. This place will be a gathering spot for heroes, and innocents alike. Many will praise you, some will not, but none shall bring you harm, so long as the Mother Stone stands.* A long tendril of green light struck out from behind the cowl, catching Tony full in the chest.

For a moment he felt nothing, then a lightening, like floating. Then it was gone, and he was standing once again, facing a woman who looked old, but seemed much older, in a flowing cloak that rippled in an unfelt wind.

*In the days that come, when darkness may come into your shop, fear not. Call only my name, Almira, and help shall come. These,* the images of several suited individuals, including one small woman now inside, *are those you should know. They serve an evil ancient by your standards, but hardly weaned by mine.*

Jackie was starting to wonder where her husband was off to, the place was almost full and she was running to take orders. A glance to the front and she saw him, standing outside the front door, looking down the street, at what she could not tell. She made for the door to give him a piece of her mind at being left with little staff and hungry heroes everywhere.

*I must go now, there are those who need me.* The screen, the lady were gone. The Influence was still heavy in his hand.

"Tony! Get your butt in here!" The door swung open almost hard enough to tear the hinges loose.

He shook his head, almost unsure if the whole experience had happened. He could still remember the lady, the window and the Notes in his hand, but it had a dreamy quality....

Several hundred feet above, the woman in the cloak hovered, then turned and picked up speed. The flapping of her cloak did not stop or increase, indeed, the wind that fluttered it was not felt here. Moving at a speed that could almost pace Statesman himself, she was off towards Kings Row, a small office on the top floor of a large building. There were two individuals she would need to visit, both male, both many lives older than was human.

*I saw this seed placed into the ground. Saw it watered with the blood of innocents. Saw it pruned by the hands of Malice and tended by the Envoy himself. The time comes nigh for the tree, and all it's fruit, to be harvested and burned on the bier of The Goddess.*

" Wherever there is darkness, there must also be light. It is impossible for the Universe to be entirely Evil, just the same as it is impossible for the Universe to be entirely Good. Though we may not like this, it is still the way of the Universe, and we must accept it. "

Tony walked back into the kitchen, a little shaken up about the strange visit, the Influence in his hand. Scratching his head, the door to the diner opened once more, and four new Heroes came in.
The entrance of these Heroes brought a notable uneasiness to several of the customers in the diner at the moment, namely Mr. Maul, Mr. Death, and Ms. Hack.
Mr. Maul's fidgeting became twice as psychotic, and he began to stutter uncontrollably and mutter incomprehensible sentences.
Mr. Death's eyes widened, and for the first time since entering the bar showed signs of fear as he watched the Heroes take a seat.
Ms. Hack, still sobbing into Silver Haze's chest, completely forgot her cover and looked in horror as the four Heroes took their seats, then quickly uprighted herself and got onto her portable computer.
"We have problem." Ms. Hack typed furiously, sending a message to Mr. Dark.
"What can I get for you four?" The waitress asked, smiling at the small group of Heroes.
"An order of Angel's Food Cake, please." Ms. Grace said, blushing slightly as she eyed the waitress. "My name's Ms. Grace, by the way." She extended her hand towards the waitress, who accepted it. "You have a beautiful child." Ms. Grace said, then gasped and held her hand over mouth quickly, her face becoming a crimson hue.
"How did you know I was pregnant?!" The waitress asked, her face beginning to match Ms. Grace's. "I just found out this morning! Is it already showing?" She checked her stomach.
"Well, you know, women's intuition!" Ms. Grace said, still blushing as she waved her hands defensively.
"Wow, you're a really good nurse!" The waitress said, staring at Ms. Grace.
Ms. Grace was young, petite woman. Being only 19 years old, she looked a little suspicious wearing her white nurse's outfit. She complimented the outfit with blue dress shoes and a white nurse's hat, which had a Red Cross symbol on it. The hat covered the top of her flowing red hair, which fell out over her shoulders.
"I'll also have an Angel's Food Cake." Ms. Sketch said, looking up for a moment to adress the waitress, then going back to her paper and crayons.
Ms. Sketch was by far the youngest of any Hero in Paragon City, even younger than Ms. Hack at only 9 years of age. She wore a white school shirt and a blue and white plaid skirt that was somewhat short. She had blue dress shoes over white socks, and had a blue ribbon in her curly brown hair. Most interesting, though, was that she was constantly drawing pictures on any paper she could find, with any writing utensil she could find.
"Well, I don't want to gain weight..." Ms. Charity said, looking at the waitress. "But I guess one can't hurt... I'll also have Angel's Food Cake!" She placed her rod under the table.
Ms. Charity was wearing a rather breezy outfit that was unsuitable for the current weather, but she didn't seem to mind the cold at all. Her outfit consisted of a thin, white, flowing fabric that covered her entire body and swayed at even the slightest gust of wind. The fabric was also see-through, and revealed the blue two-piece bikini she was wearing underneath. She completed the outfit with white high heeled shoes. Her long, black hair also seemed to flow and move around, even when there was no wind to move it. Most interesting, however, was that she constantly carried a glowing blue rod around with her, the glowing aura of the rod seemingly pulsating every second.
"Angel's Food Cake sounds WONDERFUL." Ms. Harmony said, the last word slightly sung out in a beautiful tone.
Ms. Harmony was dressed in a blue tank top that was covered by her unzipped white leather jacket. The jacket was too small to fit her entire upper body, and left her stomach area bare. Her pants were also made of white leather, and the outfit was complimented by blue leather boots and blue gloves. Her blonde hair was very long, and flowed from her head all the way down to the back of her waist.
"It looks like Mr. Light was right about this place..." Ms. Charity said, looking around. "The agents of Darkness have new targets. We should attack!" Ms. Charity reached for her glowing rod, but was stopped by Ms. Harmony.
"We can't endanger innocent lives." Ms. Harmony said in her incredible voice. "Ms. Sketch?" She asked, turning to the young girl.
"Already on it." Ms. Sketch said, drawing some dogs on her paper. The moment she finished drawing them, the dogs leapt out of the picture and became real, jumping onto the diner floor and panting as they sat next to Ms. Sketch.
"Awwww! That's so CUUUUTE!" Ms. Grace laughed, petting and playing with the dogs.
"I want you all to go to everyone except those three..." Ms. Sketch pointed to the three agents. "And lead them out of here, OK?"
The dogs barked in compliance, and began to spread out across the bar.

Ms. Hack watched as the dogs went around and started barking. Mr. Dark's face appeared on Ms. Hack's monitor.
"Back off and regroup." Mr. Dark demanded as he saw the four agents sitting at the table.
"But Master said-" Ms. Hack began.
"You know the the rules Master set when you were first initiated!" Mr. Dark yelled at Ms. Hack. "The Agents of Light take first priority over ANY assignment!"
"Right. Regrouping." Ms. Hack excused herself, and Mr. Death and Mr. Maul sooned followed suit.
Mr. Pain and Mr. Knives, already in Kings Row, recieved Mr. Dark's message telepathically and quickly turned back to Atlas Park.
"Looks like it's finally time again." Ms. Harmony sighed melodically.
"Oh... I guess we have to leave, huh?" Ms. Grace said softly, getting up.
"I need you four to come to the top of the world on Atlas's statue in Atlas park." Mr. Light's voice boomed in their heads. "PLEASE COME NOW!"
The four agents did so, and in moments they were outside in the fresh air of Atlas Park, standing next to Mr. Light and Mr. Justice on the statue of Atlas.
"Good to see you're all OK!" Mr. Light said, hugging the group of young women.
Mr. Light was of average height and pretty well-built, even for a Hero. He was wearing a white trench coat over a blue shirt and white pants, complete with white boots and white gloves. His short, blue hair was cut neatly and several bangs hung above his extremely handsome face. Most interestingly, though, was his white cane that he held, complete with a statue of an angel on the tip of it.
"It's time." Mr. Justice said, looking over at the top of Paragon City Hall.
Mr. Justice was wearing blue and white jacket over a white T-shirt and blue pants, complimented by blue metal boots. His brown hair was short and spiky and flowed around in the wind madly.
"Well, well, well." Mr. Dark smiled, looking across at Mr. Light. "Mr. Light, along with your entire team. How long has it been since the last time we fought, all of us, like this?" Mr. Dark smiled wickedly.
"About 4 or 5 hundred years." Mr. Light said, looking solemnly at the other group. "I haven't kept track."
"That's right..." Mr. Dark glared at Mr. Light with absolute hatred. "But then again, only you and I would know, wouldn't we?"
"No one else on either of our teams now would." Mr. Light said, matching Mr. Dark's stare. "You've made some very... interesting... replacemets since our last battle."
Mr. Dark smiled slightly. "Tell me something, Mr. Light..." Mr. Dark's smile turned into the most wicked expression. "Since both you and I know that no matter how many of these 'Heroes'..." Mr. Dark snorted at the word. "Are brought into this battle, the only purpose they could possibly serve is to die." Mr. Dark narrowed his eyes. "We are, after all, immortal for all intents and purposes, except to each other. So why did you agree to have the battle here, in the middle of this pathetic little city? Were you honestly expecting help?"
"No..." Mr. Light now smiled. "I agreed to battle here knowing that you would agree, and thus the world would learn of the battle we've been fighting for thousands of years."
Mr. Dark's eyes widened for a moment, then narrowed again. "You know what that means?" Mr. Dark said coldly, and Mr. Light nodded.
"Well, this city should certainly prove to be an... interesting battle ground." Mr. Dark's wicked smile returned, and his held up his cane. Mr. Light matched this maneuver by raising his own cane. "I should say something witty and evil right now." Mr. Dark laughed. "But I don't like that comic book crap."
In an instant, the two teams began to fight over Atlas Park City Hall.

(Author's Note: When I first designed this story, I didn't expect it to evolve into the HUGE RP story that it has. To be fair to the OP and to allow this story to evolve in a better RP enviornment than this thread can allow, I am moving all following events to it's own Thread, entitled: Light and Darkness Open RP. All RPers are welcome to participate in this Thread, which should be the most interactive one that ever existed on these forums. Thank you Master Mind and Vondor for your support! Hopefully my own thread will handle this RP story better. )

Silver was surprised at the change in the little girl, one moment she was sobbing in his arms the next, she looked up and was fearful, the next she was glooed to her computer screen once again.

A few moments later she got up altogether and hurried out of the bar.

“Well I hope you are happy, the first person that even knows your name besides me and you scare her off. You should be ashamed of yourself.” Silver said in a disappointed tone.

“Since the details are beyond your train of thought I shant, in form you of what I was attempting to get done” Vondor retorted his glow dimming till eventually it diaperared. He sheathed his sword faster than the eye could see, and it seemingly disappeared

Silver had learned not to question his mysterious partner in there time together, he had many secrets and much knowledge.

“OK if you say so” he answered “But I am hungry ,and there is an extra piece of cake so I say we dig in and forget what just happed.” He said with his grin.

“I would normally agree with you, but I don’t believe that I can let this go.” He replied sounding sorrowful.

“Ok man” muttered silver “But I am going to stay here and dig in, you go have fun.”

And with that Vondor seemingly disappeared. Where in fact he moved at such a high frequency that he was invisible to the normal human (and most heroes), but silver tracked his progress out of the bar with his specialized goggles.

*Well*, thought Jackie, *as an opening day, it could be considered a success.* She surveyed the Diner, the general disarray of furniture, destroyed fixtures, stacks of plates and almost empty coolers. *Or a disaster.*

There were still a few patrons in the Diner, but this late in the day, the bar was far more crowded. Tony was politely asking the myriad heroes, and heroines, present in all their gaudy splendor, for ID before they could enter the bar. That was all he could do, some of the underaged could level the building if inclined. Luckily, some of the older, more seasoned, heroes were helping to keep the peace. Two noticeable presences, Phayzed and Sweet Thang, did a good job of keeping the cocky young ones in line. Sweet Thang, for all his immense size, was well spoken and gentle (besides being almost indestructible), and Phayzed could send any rowdies out in a cocoon of force to cool off.

The Help Wanted sign still hung in the window, and Tony was filling in as Bartender, but 20 hour shifts would not work out. Not only that, but she couldn't ask the two heroes playing bouncers to come every night, there was evil to fight.

Jackie was just finishing the last load of pie plates, (how could such fit people eat so much pie?!) and was wiping her hands on one of the towels behind the counter when the phone rang. It was only because the music in the bar had hit a pause between songs and the crowd had hit a lull in the boisterous conversation that she heard it.

"Tony's Bar and Grill," she said into the mouthpiece, covering one ear to hear the voice at the other end. "Before you ask, we do NOT deliver."

"No ma'am, not lookin' for delivery." There was pause, the caller sounded nervous, but the voice carried well, Jackie had to remove her ear from the receiver or suffer hearing damage.

"Um, we were in there earlier this morning," again a pause, the deep voice seemed to be building to something, "I saw a sign in th' window, th' unbroken one, I mean."

Jackie knew the voice, but the day had been so hectic, she had no idea who belonged to it. There were things to do, and she needed to get on with them. "Can we help you? It's really busy, I'm sorry but..." The other voice came in quickly.

"Are you still looking for a bartender? I'd really like the job, and I can work hard." The voice on the other end of the line hung, obviously very earnest.

"Well, sir," Jackie suddenly had time to talk, if this worked out, it meant she would have time to breathe in the future. " I certainly won't make a decision over the phone. Did you say you were here earlier? Did you inquire about the job then?" She was thinking that with all that happened, maybe Tony had spoken to her, but forgotten in the melee.

"Um, not sir, ma'am," the very embarrassed sounding voice said, "I'm a woman. You served my friend and I breakfast. I'm tall and wore a black jacket, short skirt..."

"The table, you're the lady who broke the table..." Now the idea of a woman bartender didn't seem so ridiculous. At first, Jackie had been about to just dismiss it, few women could handle a bar full of half-drunken brawlers. If her memory served correctly, this one might.

"I don't know, the bar is going to be pretty active," she meant something else, but saying aloud that they were a bunch of super-powered hooligans might be less than wise. "It is something for Mr. Phayzed and Mr. Thang to handle at the moment."

"Sweet?" The basso female voice replied quickly, "Is he there?"

"Yes, he's about all that's keeping a group of scrappers from working over a pair of blasters right now." The owner's wife was looking around the bar entrance, where Sweet Thang was indeed handling three scrappers, "escorting" them to the door.

"Well, Hell! I mean, Heck!" Gal's voice quickly corrected, "I arm wrestle Sweet."

Now Jackie's eyes ballooned...

"Can I at least get an interview?" Gal, across the city, crossed her fingers. Even Sibling had rarely seen her friend so excited, or so worried.

If you can come by tomorrow and bring proof that you over 21 and can mix a few things we ask you can be hired right on the spot. How does that sound Dear ?" Jackie thinks to herself. " Look dear of you have a few friends that are interested in being bouncers bring them by tomarrow they pay my not be great but they will get all of the free food they could eat and get a great rate on the Drinks from the bar." Jackie whats for a responce.

"Thank you ma'am, you won't be sorry!" Sibling knew they needed a new phone from the sound the handset made as Gal slammed it down into the cradle. Sibling was the more reserved of the pair, age or not. At almost 26, Gal 'O War still acted like a teenager at time.

That included the way she was now prancing around the loft, hugging Sibling and twirling. She also moved fairly well for her size.

"She said I could try out!" Spin, spin, small leap. The loft was chosen partially due to Gal's height, the 12 foot ceilings generally avoided damage, and the I-Beam supported floors only boomed with her steps.

Gal's eyes were sparkling, it was very upsetting that Sibling had been the only one with a steady job since they met. It wasn't from lack of trying, Gal just had a....forceful, manner. She was too self-conscious about her weight and size to dance at the club like Sibling did, and she had no secret identity to protect either, her size prevented that from being easy.

"Well, Love," the smaller woman said, "We guess that means you need something a little more conservative," a dour expression that did not touch the slight woman's eyes sat on her lips, "and less provocative."

Gal stopped spinning and looked straight at Sibling, only then could she tell it was a joke. "You sounded jealous!" Sibling barely dodged a pillow from the couch, and did not try to dodge the woman's outstretched arm. "You know better'n that!"

"Yes, we do. Still, you should look more like a bartender and less like a bulldozer for the interview." Sibling was trying hard not to laugh as the hulking tanker gently ruffled her bangs. "We think the Positron Mall is still open over in Steel, can we take you shopping?"

"Sure, then we celebrate!" Dinner was going to be spectacular, Gal was the cook, and she had some truffles and Gnocchi stashed away. It was the twin's favorite. "And I need to study up on the drink mixes, it's been a while since I bussed in Talos." She wouldn't study too late, Sibling deserved a little attention, too. No, more than that, her always there, always loyal companion deserved a lot of attention.

Dancing Edge smiled a bit as the man that had been annoying her up and left for no apparent reason. She didn't know what he was up to, didn't really want to know, either. He'd asked about some 'Emerald of Darkness', that sounded like a mystic thing, and wasn't really her department anyway.

On the other hand, she noted with some irritation that she still hadn't managed to get her beer, and continued to try to get someone's attention to rectify this.
