//Voidchild
Ah, thank you for your kind words, Voidchild, my love.
I can not wait for the time that our security levels are closer togather so that we might defend the streets togather...
For now, I will just have to be the sidekick to the one I love...

Great job Dark. . .
It's almost funny how a lot of heros come from such hardships. I'll look for you in Virtue.
That's because its usually hardships that bring out the truth and strength in people. Rarely do people ever get strong from being spoonfed their whole lives
Thanks for reading it! Glad some of you enjoyed my story...
The night was quiet and cool as the normal city noises echoed through alleys all over. A cat was heard down one ally, followed by a trash can falling over. Car horns and sirens sounded from around the streets and the occasional man yelling out his window... The nights were like all before, except for one thing...
Dark Avatar now sat perched upon a building instead of in his room, alone and happy, like he always had been. Donning a black leather suit he acquired, he was almost invisible by the shadows that fell around him. As he tried hard to hide his breath, it was obvious he was a bit nervous. Shutting his eyes, he thought of his father and gave a quick prayer for strength and speed. A local woman walked down the street that he had been watching, the shadows seemed to follow her as she went towards her home. "What are you doing out here, lady?" Jason said hastily under his breath as she turned down an even darker ally. He followed her across the top of the roof until the inevitable happened... three men jumped from the shadows, tearing at her clothing and pushing her back and forth. She let out a scream of fear as the men came.
It was time to act, and he knew. He lunged from the rooftop with a flip and landed on his left foot with his right leg extended to the side and his hand to the ground. Slowly, he raised his eyes to meet those of the three 'Skulls' gang members. A dark cloud of purple haze began to fill the air around him before he leapt forward and swung a fist at the man whose grasp now held the helpless woman. The man tripped backwards against a wall. Jason began to turn to find his next target as a bat hit him in the back, then another in the head; he hit the ground and spat blood, realizing the seriousness of what he had gotten into. With a quick roll backwards and a jump to his feet, Dark Avatar stood at attention again, fists ready and all foes ahead of him. He began to feel a speed that he had ever known when he went to attack; the flurry of punches and darkness that followed was a surprise to both the skulls and him. The man he had punched fell to the ground with a loud thud. The remaining skull ran forward speedily and swung violently. Jason dodged the hits and landed several punches at the enraged enemy. The fight ended quickly and Jason was out of breath. The rest, he thought, would be easy...
Regaining himself, he turned towards the almost naked woman who lay sprawled on the ground, cloths ripped from the attackers. She breathed hard and nervously as the man clad in dark leather and buckles advanced towards her… his mask like a dark skull across his face. She held her arms across her self in an attempt to hide her body. The man extended an arm to her and she screamed in fear. Jason was confused that the woman he just saved feared him just as much as she had the men in white. He opened his mouth to tell her that everything would be ok but the words would not come out, he knew what she felt like… Jason began to back away from her and gave a quick bow and a wink. With that he turned and ran, leaping onto a dumpster, and then a window seal, followed by a back flip onto the building behind him. He disappeared over the building's edge and the alley was silent. The woman stood and brushed her self off, cold from the air that surrounded her exposed body. Minutes later, Jason landed back in front of her, holding a pair of cloths that were a bit baggy on her. "Be safe." He whispered as he went back to his perch with haste.
The night would be long for the, now hero, that sat above the building. He watched the quiet streets and rotated buildings from time to time. In the morrow, he would report to the city hall and take his first mission as an official superhero. Sleep was out of the question, finding a safe place was hard enough. There were few fights in the night that followed, but knowing he had saved one was rewarding to Jason.
Excellent second part!!!!1!
Bump for those unfortunate who havent read this yet
Awesome story dark!!!

Nice Job DA
He awoke, his vision hazed from sleep. Jason pushed his jet black hair, which had grown down past his shoulders, back behind his ears as he stumbled out of bed and into the warm shower. Everyday, Jason sat with his father (Dr. Lucas Gray) for breakfast. After losing his mother years before, he had no one left. The two had grown very close, they spent as much time together as they could eating breakfast, working out together, and even training in martial arts. The bond between father and son was very obvious until recent.
Dr. Gray worked at a hospital in Atlas Park. He spent much of his time working with doctors and scientists developing the emergency teleportation system used to save heroes from certain death when their life reached a critical level. For the past while, he had been getting home a lot later than usual and his time with Jason had dwindled into almost none. With the new amounts of heroes in our city, I have had little time away from the hospital! he told his son. Jason accepted this, though he missed the time he spent with his father.
---------------------------------------
Sitting at his computer with his music blazing and headset on, Jason didnt hear the door open when his father got home early. Jason nearly jumped out of his seat when the light flashed on in his bedroom. He looked up to see his dad standing in the door way with a somewhat sad face. Whats wrong, Dr.? Jason asked in an almost teasing manner. Lucas looked up and pulled a smile across his face, realizing that his feelings at the moment were more obvious than he wanted them to be.
Nothing, just a long day Jason knew he was lying. How about some sparing, eh? It has been a while His voice was a little sad as he realized what time he had missed with his son.
The two had hired a personal trainer of the fighting style 'Tai Chi Chuan' and had a room added to their house just for their practices. After they had changed into their uniforms, they were ready for a session that would last several hours, for sure. At the end of the session, it was apparent that Jason had become much better a fighter. Lucass only words were I am sorry I havent been around I want you to always remember I love you. The day went on like any other, until the night came.
At around 11:00 pm, Jason jumped from his bed as his house shook with a noise that could be heard from afar. He poked his head out of his door to see his father running down the hall. In a panicked voice, Lucas stopped and threw a book to Jason. Stick that in a backpack with any thing else you need and get out of here! He yelled as he dashed down the hall. Jason obeyed his father and quickly gathered a few things into his backpack. He pulled on a hat and rushed down the hallway behind his father. As he reached the end of his hallway, he saw several men approaching his father - they wore blue suits with black armor, all of them with helmets and weapons. Jason watched in shock as his father fought them. Lucas fought vigorously against the numbers that came, though he was quickly overwhelmed. Men rushed in through the doors and Jason screamed out as his father was shot and killed. He turned and ran as bullets rushed towards him; the jump from his second story window was nothing he hadnt done before. He disappeared into the bushes below.
---------------------------------------
The air above the now ruined house was thick and silent. The explosions and fire that had occurred the previous night had been settled with nothing but smoke coming from what was left of the former Talos Island home. The police had taped off the area and thorough investigations were done before the rock and debris was cleared enough to discover one man deceased and one still missing. The papers read:
The peaceful Talos Island domicile was home to Dr. Lucas Gray and his son, Jason Gray. The explosions that occurred in the night at nearly 11:30 pm were the results of a small blaze that reached propane tanks held in the basement. In the morning at approximately 7:45 am, two bodies were found in among the debris of the house. These bodies are believed to be those of Dr. Lucas Gray and his son, Jason Gray. The two will be missed among many within the city. A remembrance ceremony and joint funeral will be held on the date of continued on page 7C.
The article had made front page and the news was everywhere through out Paragon city. The passing of a Doctor and his college-going-son was a depressing event for many who lived within the city. Jason was a star lacrosse player for a local college team. In his fourth year in college, he would be soon to graduate in the top twenty of his class. As life had always proved in the past, the worst of things happens to the best of people.
---------------------------------------
His eyes scanned the front page news of the Paragon Times a few times as he walked down the back ally of Atlas Park. He sighed as he crumpled the daily paper up and tossed it over his shoulder into the dumpster. He only made it a few more steps before he slumped down against a wall and began to sob. Having lost his father and announced dead, Jason had nearly nothing left except the money in his wallet and the cloths on his back. Only he knew the truth to what had happened that night at the his home only he knew who had created the explosion and only he knew who had taken both his fathers life and his own Jason reached over and picked up a bottle from the ground; he smashed the bottle against the wall and held the neck of the bottle in his right hand high over his right wrist. What had he to live for? He quickly thrust the sharp edges down into his wrist. Jason passed out as the blood rushed from his arm onto the street.
Visions filled Jasons head as time and space seemed to pass him. He saw many things that most people would only dream about, and he began to see great amounts of lightness turning into total darkness. As Jason fell, he saw his entire life, twisted in a certain wickedness that put a new perspective on everything. He felt a surge of energy rushing through his body, it felt like he was being crushed, burned, and stabbed by what ever it was engulfing him in a deep purple cloud. As the cloud disappeared, the figure where he stood was no longer him, but a masked figure in an all black outfit The figure stood strong and when the cloud surrounded him again, the pain was no longer there, but comfort seemed to come with the strange darkness. Jason blacked out again.
Jason awoke the next day. The blood from his wrist had stained the ground around him. He felt hunger now more than he had ever known. Three men began to gather around him, two with bats. As Jason stood, he began remembering the techniques he had practiced so many times with his father. He dodged the first three hits that came from the men with bats and when he went to punch back, the purple cloudiness of his dreams swallowed his hand and hit the foe with a force like he had never seen before. After one more swing, the man fell and the other two fled in fear. Jason stared at his hands in awe of the miracle that had happened and he knew that very instant that the power he contained had changed dramatically
Jason climbed a stairway of a local apartment building; he sat on the roof against an air duct and reached into his backpack, pulling out the book his father had given him. As he began to read, he was shocked at what he read. The book revealed all of his fathers secrets... the most surprising, the story of his love affair with a lady named Clarissa, better known as Countess Crey. Lucas had learned all of the secrets of Crey Industries which he documented in this book Jason knew what he had to do.
