  1. I've been surfing around the boards in the last hour trying to get an idea behind the new, Going Rogue power sets. I just want a very brief opinion on how they turned out.

Kinetic Melee looks rather bland to me.
Pistols looks adaptive which is neat.
Demon Summoning looks fun, but I'll have to discern what the demons do.
Electric Control also seems pretty meh.

I could easily be wrong about those, I obviously haven't played any of them. Enlighten me
  2. Ah thanks. I did play with the architect system previous. I don't know if I recall loot... enhancements and such, and crafting them in bases so I suppose I did.

A friend told me that now basically everyone gets 'Stamina,' no longer making it something we all had to take. But the builder still lists it. So I assume you can grab it as well for extra if needed. How is the one we get automatically? When do we get it?

    Thanks!
  3. Bored this weekend and I thought I'd get Going Rogue and see if I can entertain myself.

I will probably just be playing casually by myself and most likely experimenting with the new power sets that weren't around before. Other then those I know next to nothing about the starting experience of Going Rogue. Any suggestions? Any tips? Obviously I'd rather experience new content at lower level if that is possible.

Also looking for a new and updating character builder if a good one is out there.

    Thanks in advance!
  4. Okay, but wave will give me more defense (with 4 slots) then maneuvers would. How do my overall bonuses look? Recharge, accuracy etc?
  5. I've played CoX over many years but usually at short intervals and with friends, generally the kind of game that is easy to be casual with. Finally I have my first 50 and I know very little about the end game and what do to.

Accolades, IO sets and Badges Oh my!

I am looking for a very active VG, and I would prefer if it had an active endgame group, not just 10 people online spread across the whole spectrum of levels. I roleplay some, so it would be an awesome added bonus if the VG encouraged some RPing or had some hardy RPs in the Coalition.

My 50 is a Fire/Cold Corruptor, magic/witch themed if it matters for the RPing.

I'm just looking for recommendations and information, I know little of the guild hierarchy of CoX and am trying to get a feel.

    Thanks!

P.S. Not really interested in PVP, generally that's all I do in MMOs, but CoX doesn't seem like its worth it, at least to me.

  6. First I want to thank a few of the posters here who covered my other thread that got into a discussion of Frostwork etc. All the information has been very helpful.

Frosticus , I used your build as a guide and reference, in general you have about 10% more ranged defense, and I have about 17% more smashing/lethal resistance. Not sure what's better, I'm new at this!

I just hit 50 today so far I haven't even respecced, I would really like some comments about the build and the sets. Remember I have no experience of end game raids and demands, so if there is something I have vastly overlooked please feel free to comment!
  7. Well I guess I may have to use Frostwork myself and see how I like it.

Still, I would very much like to see a top of the line IO build!
  8. So, if I do that, do I just use a lot of respecs to take those IOs out and replace/re-adjust where things are? I don't want to much spend time getting medium quality IO sets and I'd rather just aim straight for the final best build. I'm sure it is quite an undertaking but the path will seem clearer to me that way.

So whats the best build I could have? (Read my post above I just edited it before you replied)
  9. Wow thanks for all the feedback guys

Now, keeping in mind that I know little about IO sets (i do have the builder to play with), what would you recommend I aim for? I know there are average cost builds and expensive builds, but to me it seems silly to spend time getting something I'd rather just replace.

I know the slots ppl use at 50 differ a lot from leveling, because you add extras to fit in a set for a bonus, so that in mind, any information would be helpful! I need to know what I need before I can start working for it.

I guess I am looking for a build with IO sets. Normally I do this sort of thing myself in games but I just don't know enough about anything to know whats best, and whats not.
In terms of powers, I was thinking everything in fire minus flares and the snipe, and then everything in cold. Plus hurdle/health/stamina, hasten/ss, Shark Skin, Hibernate, and then there is one open spot, whatever someone would recommend.

    Thanks!
  10. Frosticus: It seems like these other posts don't agree with your options of Frostwork. I would like to get a better idea, but mostly I am interested in what IO sets you would recommend, or what I types of bonuses I should try to achieve.

Also, is combat jumping with an IO for knockback protection sufficient, or will it be worth it to add some hold protection via acrobatics? I seem to be stunned much more then held, so I don't know.

    Thanks!
  11. My Fire / Cold Corruptor is nearing 50 and this will be my first 50. That being said, I am unsure of a few powers and whether or not they will be expected of me.
Benumb (Sounds great vs AV but otherwise not used much)
    Frostwork?

Should I invest enough to get acrobatics for the anti-hold and knockback protection?

I think I want to go Mako for Hibernate, is the pet worth getting?

And then there are enhancement sets, which I know little about. Should I farm AE tickets and try to get recipes or, something else to get money to get recipes?

Thanks in advance, I know Iknow a lot of questions =)
  12. I remember way way back in the day there was a way to edit a sound file to keep one of those oldschool really annoying auras from driving you nuts...
No way to do that to Granite Armor? (I mean everyone else would still see me the same but it would be a start)
  13. So I love the idea of the stone tanker, but I really dislike that with granite armor on I will look identical to other stone tankers. Is there ANY customization options at all? Or any way to keep the power on but the graphic off?
