I'm kinda new to the event hosting thing. I'm told it's good to have a flier...how to use it? not sure on that. If there's anyone that has done this before and would like to help me out either with a flier or with the rest of the planning process, i would be very grateful.
Contact me here via PM, on in game via @Roxanna.
Party on Triumph There's the link to the event I'm helping to host, the ladies night information is towards the bottom.
Thanks much -
I was hoping for some straight fencing type blades they look too much like katannas. That's what i said when i voted for them too.

<QR> To the OP. Then don't slot with IO's. Or slot with the IO's you want to slot with not what the set dictates. HO's will be available through the abyss in a couple weeks, in droves no doubt, so there's really nothing to complain about. Besides if you aren't using the buffs then why do you want to use IO's? The devs said that IO's will offer some buffs to some powers but that you needn't and shouldn't slot all your powers with the corresponding IO set.
In summary:
If you don't like it, don't bother with it. -
Sounds good. I've been waiting for a new type of zone and while this one is close to being totally different from previous zones, it's still akin to those zones. I'd still be happy to have it.

Defiance's increase in damage has only helped my blaster seemingly once. (and i went down with that troll) I've only had it go as high as 1/8 of the meter and I can't figure out how defiance is really all that helpful. Maybe if it kicked in at about 50% and incresed more quickly the longer you were under 50% or if the increase was greater with every consecutive hit on the blaster getting the defiance bar to maybe 50% or more, more often would be more what was expected from this power.
When I first heard about this power I was really excited. My vision was of a blaster cornered and fighting like some sort of wild animal and just reaping total destruction upon anything that came in range. However, that's not what I've really been seeing.
Maybe instead of just a damage increase it would be a recharge reduction and end cost reduction for all powers according to what percent of health had been lost (then with a percentage bonus when the bar turns yellow and another larger percentage bonus when the bar turns red. Allowing them to fire off more attacks before succombing or potentially surviving but being totally exhuasted for a little bit. This would allow as much as a 2x bonus (to overall damage yield) to the blasters attacks but achieveing that kind of bonus to attack would probably be only survivable for a few seconds at best. Because blasters are so soft they would still require healing and the "exhuastion" (kinda like a defiance debt that would have to be worked off with downtime and/or using the rest power) wouldn't hamper defiances climb to the 100% buff to damage yield. meanig that unless you rested for a considerable time your defiance would not be able to climb above say 50% of the potential damage yield after living through a battle at the highest damage potentials. The "exhuastion" would continue you to build up any time you fought and lost health.
ok to recap
1) increase the defiance bonus with more than just a damage buff that kicks in at 40%. make it so that its equal to the percentage of health lost.
2) Add "exhuastion" to balance the new damage potential. Every time a player loses more that 30% of his health (and potentially gains a 30% buff to overall damaging ability) that player will begin to acquire "exhuastion points" that will limt the bonus the player recieves in the next fight due to defiance. These exhuastion points can only be worked off by resting and staying out of major combat. -
So what you're saying is that the power works the same way as before except you are no longer harder to see for all groups in the room and that "difficulty of sight" defence buff is gone. Personally I didn't relise that there was a problem with stealth. I understand wanting to balance things for COV but making things unrealistic or uncomic book like is not what I thought this game was about.
If you have stealth on and you are paying for it then you should be enjoying its benefits. I could understand the visability supression (However, 10 seconds is a very long time in any fight. Most of my fights as a scrapper are just barely that long.). I think supression should only last as long as I'm fighting. If I'm hurting and the baddie turns his head to look at someone else I should be able to disappear back into the shadows from which I came. I also agree with the idea that if some baddie opens up with an AK at the wall his buddies in the room should notice, but I don't believe I should lose my buff becuase they would constantly be trying to precieve where I am with stealth enabled, that should be a tough job. Many factions of baddies can already see right though my stealth so why are you changing this? I just don't understand.
As for the balancing with COV, COV isn't even out yet why can't you change it so their "sight" is greater making it easier for them to see us if that's the problem. To counter out the defence, increase there acc a little it certainly wouldn't have to be much becasue stealth's defence isn't that spectacular. Why are you changing the existing game for the one that is still in development ?
Your explanations suck. Give me a comic book based example of why you are making this change and then I'd be more swayful about the changes you are making. Normally I'm really behind you guys about the changes you make. I like that power leveling is so much harder now. If a side kick wants to learn from his mentor then he should get a mild xp buff. The dreck power leveling thing was so unhero like though. What knowledge would a sidekick gain from standing on a wall and watching an empty street while his mentor sits on the wall next to him watching the same empty street. Hell, I might not even mind it if they were at least talking but when both mentor and Sidekick are AFK they really don't deserve anything. This time changing stealth I dunno what to say, WHY ? -
Ok, my account has had kind of a twisted past. Full of holes where it was canceled because some things/people hate me, but that's another story. However, I've been able to play nearly continuosly from a day or two after launch. What are the odds I can get an invite to the COV beta? I know I'm gonna buy COV but i'm very impatient and the bugs find me (it seems) so i'd make a good bug hunter (psst hear that devs? the bugs find me
)
btw clint thanks for all the info. you answered a lot of questions. I used to think ncsoft had everything very hush hush about COV but they haven't been very quite have they. Just making small statements everywhere but where I've been looking
