Well I had some time at lunch time so I whipped up this. It's the beginning of a story idea I've been thinking about linked to the backstory of my main character.

Get up. The words pulsed through his whole body like a mantra. You've been hurt worse than this
before. Grimly he started to move his arm and a lance of pain shot through it. More blows rained
down on his prone body, he closed his eyes and waited for the pain to go away. Waited for the
doctors to pull him back and fix him up. He hoped the kid was alright.

It had been three days ago that he'd met the kid. He was zipping through Atlas Park after dropping
off some relics for M.A.G.I. to study when he heard the distinctive blast of a sawn off shotgun.
With a smile he angled did a ninety degree turn at the upcoming junction and sped towards the sound.
He could signs of a fight up ahead, a young martial artist was facing off against four Hellions on
his own. The fighter was quick but unfocussed, he kept switching his attacks between three of
the Hellions and seemed to be ignoring the leader who was calmly loading another couple of shells.
Rochefort sped in, sliding himself to the laft and holding his fist out to telegraph a purse
snatcher on the way. He pulled himself up just short of the fight and waited to see how the young
man would do. While he watched he accessed his PDA, jacked into Freedom Corps databases and pulled
up the kids data.
Name, Green Scorpion. Security Level, 2. He read off eyebrow raised over his one good eye. He looked
up at the fight, one hand sliding down his long goatee, an affectation he had kept from his past.
That explained a lot.
"Need a hand kid?" he shouted, the Lead Hellion unleashed a torrent of abuse at him and Rochefort
smiled. Sure he could take this guys without breaking a swaet and they knew it, but the kid wouldn't
learn anything that way. And by the looks of things he was about to learn an important lesson. Just
then the horned Hellion with the shotgun unloaded a pound of buckshot into Green Scorpions back. His
kevlar weave body suit took the worst of the blast but blood still sprayed out from the wounds. He
let out a cray and tumbled forwards.
Rochfort shook his head and the Hellions whooped and cheered, the Leader hastily loading his shotgun
again. Rochefort caught his eye and clenched his fists, dark enrgry beginning to wrap around them,
a little theatre always helped. Then he saw something that made him wince, the kid had managed to
press his emergency override button and was reaching for a rez from his belt!
With a burst of speed Rochefort was standing in the middle of the three younger Hellions, has Green
Scorpion jabbed the needle of the blue rez pack into his chest the one eyed fighter summoned an aura
of dark power. As he'd expected the three attackers fell the to ground, ignoring the groggy and
young man climbing to his feet behind him Rochefort took two steps up to the leader. Who relfexively
pulled the trigger of his shotgun. The blast peppered Rocheforts chest with shot, tearing the front
of his jacket and slicing a wicked cut into his neck.
"Do you realise how much these cost?" Rochefort asked as the panciing Hellion dropped his shotgun
and pulled out a wicked looking Bowie knife. Rochefort raised one hand and wagged him finger, then
snaked it forward and grabbed the mans neck. "Night night billy ray." he quipped as they were bathed
in green energy. The Hellions eyes rolled back in his sockets and Rochefort let his body slump the
ground. Maybe this time he'd change his life around... maybe.
"You *******!" the voice shouted from behind him "What did you do that for?" Rochefort turned slowly
around to face the still reeling form of Green Scorpion. "I could have taken them!" the young man
declaimed, his hand reaching up to wipe the trail of blood coming from his mouth. Rochefort jumped
forwards nose to battered nose with him. With a quick jab his finger pushed the younger mans chest,
he took a step back and collapsed to the ground.
"Yeah kid. Of course you could." Rocehfort sighed, he pulled a rez kit out of his belt and waved it
in front of the younger man. "These things are great but they leave you feeling a bit crappy for a
while. Best to only use them if you have someone covering you green butt." He dropped the Rez pack
at the kids feet. "If I hadn't come in you'd have just got blasted by horny over there. And you seem
dumb enough to try just getting up again. Trust me kid sometimes you need to let the doctors fix you
up." The boy, Rochefort realised he couldn't have been much older when he'd started down this path
looked up in anger his pride wounded. He smiled and knelt down in keeping the boys gaze all the
while. "Look, here's my number. If you need a hand drop me a line. And try not to lead with your
chin."

The blows kept coming, as he started to slip into unconsciousness Rochefort wondered what was
keeping the med team. Then he felt cold metal touching his neck and the pain increased ten fold. He
slipped into blissful darkness.
I think it will be while before I get that... will look cool though.
