Though i'm sure i'll find the time to respec a toon that really needs it, alot of my toons are fine the way they are and some don't even have fitness to begin with (YAY elec armor) though having the pool inherent makes sense. my question is why wait 19 issues to make it happen, it is the only pool we got that is all autos...=\
kinda wish they would give us extra slots though.. inherent or not a friend a mind made a good point. people will still end up slotting stamina so in the end what really changes outside of the 3 powers you can choose now but not have enough slots to go around for them.
still though i always enjoy the free respecs, i personally get tired of traveling all the way to galaxy to respec so i always welcome free ones.
maybe they should finally put a respec in each major/heavily populated zones.for 19... that would be awesome! O_O -
Quote:save 10 bucks by not picking a name you won't want by the next time you stare at it?$8 may not be a lot, but the value of this is less than even $8. Do better next time if you want my money...
PS I paid for a name change for $10 and it was worth more than this!
if ya wanna talk about something thats worth 10 bucks, getting 2 character slots for 10 bucks is better than paying for a name change.
Aside from that >_>;; A friend of mine bought the party back after seeing me dancing. there are plenty of people whether the people who constantly post on these threads all day realize it or not that there are those who really do use emotes often. just like a bunch have afk messages over their characters when they have to type something. It's more about how you feel about the things you do in this game and not so much about prices all the time.
im pretty sure for every 5 people who scoffed at this, there were 6 who bought it. I bought it and i am amused by it and that's more than enough for me to validate the purchase of it.
I remember when i first met my friend (one who bought the pack) he used to mix emotes together to create unique ones. i still remember the vahz walk, lol... goodtimes... goodtimes.. eh anyways. some people like using emotes and such...just like people like costume change emotes... i don't use those much but i do use them.. saying people don't use emotes often enough to validate an emote based pack is silly imo. -
it was published, though i tested it first before publishing to make sure the dopples actually spawned, then i published it and ran it twice and noticed i wasn't getting anything at all from defeating them.
i wonder if it had anything to do with the fact i was on my firekin when i tested it? -
Is there a reason why they do not give any exp or inf what so ever?
It took a bit to find the mini guide on how to put them in. I made a mission from scratch with a theme/concept of dopplegangers playing a role in it
Once i set everything up and published it i tested it out and noticed i didn't get anything at all for killing them. i invited a friend and restarted the mission and he too didn't get anything at all.
also is there a way to have it show the persons name or something like in official dopple missions?
any help will be appreciated. -
i miss my 98... now that i think about it
but i enjoy my xp...
still 98 was cool to me.
aside from all that, yes that snap thing... if i can do that.. the way it's shown in the commercial with xp.. that would be great.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmiPzMY4nuE
said commercial. -
Quote:I think you misunderstand what i said. in the commercials for windows 7, they showed how you can have 2 windows sidebyside with a simple click of any 2 windows, without the need to resize them to fit onto the screen like in previous windows. thus you can see them the same size equally which makes things alot easier than having multiple windows open and click on each window seperately.Huh. And here I am, on Windows XP, with a constantly refreshing (every 10 seconds, through a Firefox addon) Twitter page, Facebook page, and forum page... and my Master Account page in a second Firefox window, to the side, set to refresh every 45 seconds to keep the login fresh. All I have to do is click once and enter the code and hit enter.
I haven't won one yet, but you're talking like only Win7 folks can do multiple windows.
I can button mash 20 keys at random in about a second and a half at most.
or by having to constantly adjust window sizes to try and duplicate what is already part of windows 7. -
this is one of those moments in which i wish i had windows 7, simply because of that double window thing they added to it, that allows to windows to be viewed at the same time.
it wouldn't surprise me if those who won are using windows 7....
to see the code page.. and have your account open.. to look and type it at the same time without having to switch pages.... -
at least we know for sure it isn't the same person claiming all these, but then again... what if they have multiple accounts... =\ that makes me a sad fuuma!
=\
aside from that, I think the only thing truely stressful about this whole thing is never know which of my 3 pages they will put the new code in. I'm like C'MON ALREADY, STICK TO ONE THING!! it makes it so much better know i only have to refresh one page a bajillion times and not 3 a bajillion times each and watch some load slower than others from repeated refreshings. -
i hesitated... i saw it the second it was on twitter but because i had so many pages open i couldn't get back to my account intime to type..
then i didn't know if i needed those -'s or not.. so im like uhhhh uhhhh @_@ *falls over* -
i have several pages open.. one for facebook, twitter, this particular thread, the general section with this thread in it and some other stuff.
refreshing like crazy.. but i have to wonder.. are they gonna make a thread for each code? and twitter hasn't been updated in 2 hours now..
as for the question, the topic does say code# 1. -
wow, Im surprised anyone remembered it. Though I'm not surprised that so many didn't like it as opposed to those who did.
Either way, Yeah there were 2 versions but uhh It's good to know I'm not the only one who remembers this. As I think back there were a few things that came and went without to many people getting to actually check it out.
A Perfect example of this is actually costume related. At one point during the adding of trenchcoats we were allowed to put stuff over them. we no longer can so those who knew of it like myself have a costume that can never be duplicated.
My Main brute has a chain wrapped around the outside of his trenchcoat. Though it seems trivial now, It makes me stand out because noone else can do this. So with such a thing removed I feel like at least one of my costumes is truely Unique.
But uhh yeah, Tobad all that replied had no videos or screenshots to offer, Even if it was terrible how they animated it, To show that somethings were here and that maybe now can be made better and put back in would be great.
As far as the one person who mentioned their game account time with their forum time, Yeah I joined in june of 04, which was err I think 2 months if even that, that coh went live. I was here before capes, before arena, before cov, before alot of stuff people take for granted now.
lol, I remember when an sg was just a box that popped up on your screen with names of other people in it =P.
Anywho I thank all that replied to my little thread, It's great seeing how some haven't forgotten the things that have come and gone from this game -
yes.. Banking, the short lived animation that was added in issue 8 for those who flew.
I miss it when I think back, I also find it shocking that my friend who has been playing as long as I have doesn't even remember this little feature they had put in. thats how quickly it was removed due to complaints from people who prolly don't even play anymore to begin with.
Sigh.. I would persoally love it if they put it back in, I always enjoyed it and flying in general, a good portion of all my characters have fly anyways.
anywho, I was wondering if anyone else remembered it and if so have any screenshots or videos of it. I have nothing and I can't find anything on it in youtube which oddly enough has videos for everything on coh XD. Anywho, I didn't know where I could post this but this section seemed the most fitting. -
I think some confuse Farming with Grinding. Just like some people I know who confuse Spamming attacks for Chaining attacks. To tell them they are wrong just leads to pointless arguing over something trivial to begin with, but the act to at least inform them of the differences shouldn't be taken as an insult but it usually leads to that.
Heh, back before this silly super sk thing was put in I used to say everyone power leveled simply on the basis if you were on a team and were the lowest out of the team even if you were only 2 or so levels behind the them as a whole, I considered that power leveling, simply because everyone else will tend to ignore any missions you have in favor for exp and if they are higher they will be doing their missions which means anything you get is more than you would of if you were fighting things at your level.
Though I suppose when I think about the super sk thing, if the leader is higher than anyone else then the rest of the team would be getting power leveled, though not by much but still.
In the end of the day, The Fuuma does not care about any of it anymore, The Fuuma just wants to make and play his Demon Summon Mastermind already!
MAKE WITH THE GO LIGHT!!! me wanna summon demons! -
The Fuuma just want's to play his demon mm now =\.
MAKE WITH THE THE GO LIGHT ALREADY! *twitches*
aside from that, i have no view about any of this that has been argued over with no real end or winner in sight since the game launched back in 2004.
Now back to giving the green light so i can make my new mm already
*claws the walls from boredom* -
i couldn't think of the place to really ask this but this seems as good of a place as any I suppose.
Anyone else got the download after quitting the game today? Does that mean the next issue is ready?? will i get my demon summon finally?, it was like an 800mb dl that started the moment i quit so I was wondering about it seeing how I couldn't find any Info on it. I figured this had to be it. -
blah!, The Fuuma wants his Demon Tamer already =D
c'mon!
I even have my theme/concept planned out. as a guy, it's a demonic circus and the guy is a demon tamer all i'm missing would be the chair =\
and if I didn't go with that. If i made it a lady, it would be more or less replacing the circus thing with witchcraft O_O! -
yaay, ty ty
finally someone played it. XD XD.
sooo what ya think? im accepting any and all "CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM" im sure alot of people know what that means, but yeah.. I have to stress it sometimes because the usual "This Blows!" isn't constructive at all nor does it help me improove on anything if needed ya know? -
guess you have a point there. I never really did take the time to read original posts just alot of the replies and just assumed it was all related. but yeah I know how things can get offtopic rather well.
for example
I've been adverstising my arc about and not a sole ingame has even bothered to try it. Ive been working on this story off and on since ae was on test and i finally finished it like a week or so ago. I've listed the id in my sg.. in local chat in atlas where ae people hang at, and other places. and not a sole has even checked it.
no feedback.. or anything it's really discouraging too because im trying to get those badges associated with actual stories and not farms, ya know.
so i guess i'll list it here and hope people try it, XD!
its 268409 -
guess my ideas aren't all that great.
maybe i should go about complaining about ae to get some attention ovah heeeyurrr =\ -
hehe, tell me about it.
but yeah, i was just wondering if they knew about this before they even put in recipes in the firstplace. I kinda wonder who was incharge of bonuses in the first place really.
not saying they did a bad job or anything but the more i look at the set bonus finder in mids the more i think recipes as a whole was meant for support/ranged based toons really.
since those types have all the mez based attacks and such. and somehow by making some have defence bonuses.. every defence type somehow squeezed into the club and wasn't really on the list to begin with =P -
[ QUOTE ]
Now if you mean that you want new sets to have Typed Damage Resistance as set bonuses, or maybe add some damage resistance as set bonuses to some existing sets, then I would agree. I mean "debt protection" is a worthless set bonus, and more of a placeholder than anything else.
[/ QUOTE ]
yes, exactly. as i was trying to say before, as a defensive set, you get defensive sets that give defensive bonuses, and melee that give defensive bonuses
but resistance is another story. which when you look at all the list you can see what im talking about. but yeah, pretty much what you said. lets go with that -
thats alll ive wanted for ages, outside of the increased amount we could xfer(which was finally given to us sometime back) the only logical step forward would be either a place we can put inf in and share it among our characters or mailing system.
because seriously, constanting bugging a friend then all the constant signing out and in to switch toons to get is really annoying.. if we can cut out the middle man alot of people would be happy..
i rather just store inf like we can do salvage, heck make it the same friggan building, then allow it to be used by any toon on that side (heroside for heroes, villain side for villains) it seems such a minor adjustment but its never been added and that makes me very very sad -
Ok.. so the last post didn't do so well.. reading/comment ratio.. but ehh anyways..
Something I've noticed for sometime now but never really talked about it here on the forums. and that is.. A lack of resistance recipes.
Now i don't mean toxic or psionic cause there are alot more of those than I thought there would be. but as a person who started as a melee type and prefers melee types over everything else. I noticed there is a real severe lack in resistance sets.
and when browsing around in mids looking for specific things i'd like to increase I noticed the things that had the resistances i wanted, I couldn't use at all simply because i don't have those powers that can take them.
but as a defensive type I've noticed there is alot of options to improove defence, but the ratio between defense and resistance is lopsided.
I would like to not always have to be stone or invun to get the s/l resistances i love. a simple increase in smashing,/lethal and energy resistance recipes I think would benefit anyone really..
so those of us without naturally high resistances can survive a little longer out on the battlefield ya know?
just an an idea/thought/suggestion.
i personally hope to see some put in with the next issue ^_^;; its been to long coming if ya ask me. -
but of course if i did then I wouldn't be here posting it now.
ANYWAYS!
ahem..
I've been playing off and on since 2004 and like anyone who started back then I've seen pretty much all the changes this game has gone through and what it has become. Unlike most of the friends I've made throughout the years that often wish for days of old. I myself have adapted to all the changes that have been thrown my way.
example. I never deleted my fire tank when burn finally was fixed. and yes I say "fixed" because it was "broken" to begin with if you actually "read" the desciption it had back in the day. It said it would cause enemies to flee, but it never did.
anyways, my tank has surived the harshness of the user who gave up on theirs. to become a new hero over the years for those who never knew about the before. or always wondered if a fire/fire tank was good. I like to think I popularized the term "Battle Tank" but i doubt i really did.
got rid of the one trick power for actual powers and turned into a fighting machine that could tank and take out a mob before a team got the chance to really do anything. Anywho!.
My point I guess to this post is that.. I like many have thought of "solutions" if you will to the current problems this game faces due to all the recent changes it's gone through. And some are silly and some are serious.. so i will put them into the catagories of silly and serious ideas/ suggestions.
Silly Ideas:
Remove levels from the game. no levels no farming. =P
Make everyone max level. at the cap? also no farming.(applies to every toon you make or already have"
Serious Ideas:
none.
well Instead of listing serious ideas/thoughts/solutions like i did for silly ones. I'll just go into actual detail as to what I was thinking.
First off.. I guess i'll address the whole "Ae" thing. I personally feel it's a great tool that's been misused by the public. AE isn't ruining the game the public is. said public keep's finding ways to "farm" to fast exp. of course as positron mentioned before on his thread. the devs knew their would be some abuse with such a tool. but the potential outweighed the downsides.
I firmly believe that. specially for all the years I've played this game only to read peoples opionions on why alot of them farmed before ae gave them a easy way to do it" a majority of the complaints was simply the game's story for whatever mission you were doing. wasn't interesting enough to make them play it.
they rather just get their levels and be done with it than to sit and read alot of the stuff they felt was boring and uninspired. after years of this. a tool comes along for those people who can finally make something they felt was good. and you end up with a ton of farm missions. it's truely sad. but I myself felt alot of the story arcs in the game were really good.
at least enough for one playthrough on any character anyways. you can tell that the story team who makes this stuff, puts alot of effort into it, but its easy as heck for someone to instantly say "this sucks" and by saying that and never giving an actual detailed reason why.. can easily sway those around them that may not have experienced it or have and thought to themselves that it was lacking in some way.
anyways.. I think a way to resolve this isn't to remove ae like every post i've seen suggests. I personally have experienced a lack of teams before ae was thought of and after ae was put in.
for me, nothing has generally changed, but the public hordes around it not to do actual story arcs, but to farm. that says alot for those who openly complained the game was not driven enough for them to do missions, but apparently grinding away hours to reach the max level is really inspiring.
farming has been in this game pretty much since it officially launched. before ae.. i had to personally deal with lvl 1's coming all the way from atlas or galaxy to peregrine and flooding my chatlog full of, looking for farm, pay for farm, plz this and plz that etc etc etc.
now peregrine is like a ghost town, and honestly I enjoy it. it seems only those high enough to be in the zone are the ones you find there now.
i guess for ae.. why not make catagories.. as much as i dislike my own idea. to put actual arcs on one side of the search if you will and farms on the other. and a counter system for this, we can honestly see then which is getting more play.
personally I always thought auction ruined this game. because giving the person the ability to set whatever price they want for anything. is the sole reason why stuff is is listed at 300million a recipe, and that just isn't right at all.
Noone needs that much money ever in this game on a single character. but of course, monkey see monkey do right? those who list for insane amounts, complain about stuff being to expensive when its their turn to buy the same crap.
but then you have those who love to ask you whenever they feel you are really good at whatever you are doing "how much did your build cost" im like..ugh.. because the price sooo determines your skill in the game.
tch, whatever >>;; a suggestion from me on that would be.. why not make auctions like regular npcs. and just a place to buy and sell, without play influence. thus not removing auctions as they are now. and making it set prices based on real value, not just some person wants instant cash.
so yeah.. just remove the player portion of that... have all the items there infinite like in any trainer store/npc and you will see alot more balance.. and less silly questions like the above.. and I feel a general less in farming.
I have to be honest..if you aren't lvling fast for a 50.. you are leveling fast for a 50 so you can start getting a ton of influence per kill and items to put in auction to get enough cash to buy the same stuff you probably just put up their for the insane prices you are complaining about.. its a vicious moronic circle.
honestly its what killed ffxi for me.. and i spent most of 2004 playing it after getting this game.. that game forced me to pay real cash to get ingame money because I wanted to level and experience the story attached to it, but i always needed the "best gear" to ever get a team and the moment my gear wasn't the "best" i would spend hours, literally hours broadcasting for a team only to finally get one, we kill one monster then everyone has to go.
yes i was part of that whole ffxi joke.. i lived that crap.. and after many complaints i had with that mmo i finally quit and returned here and never looked back.. but the announcement of auctions in this game brought up my worse fears. and in this users opionion.. it's come true. -
Ya know, this was something I was just talking about Ingame
Double XP weekends are a Double-Edge Sword. Getting more exp is always nice, but then the downside to it is very disappointing. It's the onlytime outside of some huge event, that the major servers are show in red and every other server in yellow. It really makes you think just how many people Care more about the leveling than the game content itself. It's also ironic how it's those extra people who complain most about wanting more content, whether it be more zones, new enemies, more powers, etc etc etc. it also shows just how many people would play if the rates would stay that way. It's scary to think that I'd be lagged for the rest of my playtime in this game if the rates would stay.
It seems to me that alot of people care about the leveling than anything else, I'd love to blame pvp for everything, but This has existed since before the pvp was issued, people wanting level 50 as bad as a million dollars it's mind boggling.
then you have those who wish they would have it for a week, and I'm like.. do you really want a week of red servers.. when you go to join one, it takes like almost 2 minutes to reach your character roster, than like a minute to select any one.... I really don't but that's what has happened each time XP weekend has surfaced.
It almost makes me want to migrate to the lesser played servers just to have a yellow dot and not a red one.
Someone had said, that double xp was the reason why the devs should up the xp in the first place. Which i replied with, if you have a problem leveling than it isn't the dev's fault.
this game doesn't have a level cap of 100 or even 1000, it's only 50, and I'll be the first to admit, having at least one 50 and a couple of 40+'s, it takes more time to get from level 44 to level 46 than it does going from level 15 to 21.
For me, getting to 22 is fast enough where I can enjoy the missions and the gameoverall without feeling I need to level to keep up with people. Heck for me, if I can't hit 10 in 6 hours total, than I'm doing something wrong. to me the leveling starts to slow down around level 35 and up. before than it's really cake. it truely depends on how one levels.
At anyrate, this isn't a cease-fire on double xp or anything, it's more of an eye-opener if you will, I enjoy double xp, but I wish it wasn't the onlytime when this game seems to see alot of users.
Tourists are nice for an enconomy but when they start jampacking the streets and stores it can be problematic for the residents who live there.
