Regular maintenance downtime is just a fact of persistent world life. Extended periods for rollout are just a fact of computer life. Emergency patches to fix bugs are a fact of rollout life.
With that all being said (and with FULL understanding of the industry), this is getting just a little ridiculous. Don't want to refund or offer a free month (which by all standards of commerce you SHOULD do), fine: Give anyone subscribed during the extended downtime (ie from launch to now) an extra 400-800 points, or a redeemable code for 20-50% off a one time points purchase. Something. Anything!
