Ugh that sucks CJ >.<
And no "Are you a guy" isn't a new meme so much... its just a reckognition that on the internet - you don't really know <@_@> and Derek was making fun of BAS for using faces like I do <~_~> which I admit are a bit femine... but who the hell cares right? <'x'> -

The Product of Random Sci-Fi doodling!
What think you? <~_~> Its a random sci-fi character who I *really* wish I could have in CoH; but I lack the "giant anime sword" to do it <;_;> -
Always good stuff Juggy <^_^> rawr! >_<
Wish I had time to really put the polish on my own entry <;_;> prolly won't actually enter it; but I am happy how it came out still.

Ahh cool <@.@> so not too expensive... I like!
(I also *LOVE* series that actually *end*; never-ending series is one of the big reasons I dislike western comics largely; sure, a given arc might be great; but what happens when they retcon it out 20 years later? <X.x> /ugh; I just prefer ya know... "a story"; rather than 2,000 stories with the same char <@.@>
Err... what I mean to say is... I think this looks cool and I may get it <@.@> if I can find monies. -
What's TPB? >.>;
I love black and white in comics btw >.> one of the reasons I love manga. Color is *wonderful* for covers and important stills... but I really don't like it in most action shots <'x'> (With exceptions of course)
So B&W = big plus for me <,< -

As stated before, ya, the bondage pieces come about for the same reason we play the game in the first place, light fantasy fulfillment and escapism. As for the bondage thing, like has been mentioned, it does go hand in hand with the ganre. After all, the whole hero thing is all about fighting and violence (granted, not realistic or splatter punk type violence, but still, it sure as hell isn't about dramas of the heart)... it only stands to reason the sex side of it would be about the same.
Oh, and Squirrel, I don't think it's CoH that has a higher level of kink then what you would have thought, I think it's all of human kind that does

You know, I actually do feel like an old man by now. I've seen and done so many things that the new players haven't even heard of, let alone done. Hydra in Perez Park is a good example, yes. A time before respec, costume alterations, capes, back when Elude was a toggle and Blaster nukes left you end drained AND disoriented
[/ QUOTE ]
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Burning Tanks on fire off the shoulder of Brickstown. I watched Smoke Grenades glitter in the dark near the Crey's Folly gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

<. .> /immaturemoment on BOOBIES! /immaturemoment off
In all seriousness - it doesn't surprise me at all. ^^ Not the least because it is a common theme to tie superheroines up (Seriously... as mentioned before, WW spent alot of time in uhh... 'interesting' positions)
To go further - and this kinda creeped me out; not so much due to the subject matter but because of the brazeness - I was invited to an SG on Liberty once which I can only describe as uhh... "interesting" in theme. The character I was playing, in hindsight... did look kind of bondage themey... wasn't the intention but she's got ripped tights and is covered in chains <'x'> There's a freakin storyline reason >.< so don't look at me like that!
But yeah <@.@> it was a little freaky. Also there's at least 3 people in my SG (which I might add is generally a 'wholesome environment') who uhm... have admitted 'interesting' tastes. Its not offensive or anything at all; but there definitely seems to be a decided kink to the CoH community.
I also don't think that's a *bad* thing per-se... most of these individuals I'm talking about are also really cool people <@.o> I may not understand the facination (well, like Scarf I can see the attraction to very light stuff - but the heavier uhh... I dun get <x_X> but like I say... they're good people so it doesn't really freak me out except for how incredibly open they are about it <'x'> I may not seem that way - but I'm actually quite shy lol <;_;> this community lets me open up WAY more than usual >.>
-
Well - since this is a queue thread, updating here isn't bad <@_@> just don't make a sketchdump and put your finished pieces there - only sketches.
-
Hmm... I'm going to try to go a bit more in depth than most >.>
1) The camera work was fan-freaking-tastic; and the story didn't seem bad either. The entire video was rock-solid and then some until the end -
2) I didn't like the Statesman fight at all.
Now let me explain that:
States, for all his sound and fury... kills no one. He's one of the most powerful people in the entirety of the CoX universe and he can't take out a single villain during what is essentially his last stand?
I'm not opposed to him losing; but States gets made out to be a total chump far too often, and it does a disservice to the entire video to have a guy hurling lightning and giant rocks... and being completely inneffective in doing so.
Knocking people around is great; but if no one stays down, he still doesn't appear to be the Statesman we've heard about. (Remember, this guy flew *through* Rikti Battleships and hurled them around the city).
What I'm suggesting is that perhaps you get extras - maybe a few, maybe many, but just player villains who don't mind getting pounded by Statesman - the result is States taking out a good number of people; and then finally the last group of villains defeating him. Its just more believable that way.
I'm not trashing the video by any stretch - its really good, that's just an honest critique on my part >.>
Oh; and one other thing - multiple debuffs on States made the fight look 'odd'; I mean, it wasn't as dramatic because it looked like a 'real' CoX fight, and not an awesome staged one. Essentially, real CoX fights as we all know, *rapidly* get covered in power effects of a billion types and they lose some level of drama because you're seeing green, purple, blue, black, and any other color you can think of every which way - instead of the careful and measured application of a comic panel.
Thus - one debuff would have been excellent; it would make sense and fit well with the rest of the thing; since its a staged fight, I wouldn't think you'd need the debuffs to win so to speak either >.>
Ok so anyways; I felt I needed to say that; its a REALLY good video mind you, I just wanted to point out a couple things that really bugged me in an otherwise excellent piece. -

I guess I had it pretty good. One of my regular teammates used to GM D&D games so he would always make up a reason or an objective for us to be sweeping the streets.
Ex: sweeping the upper level freeway in skyway city he'd say "Okay boys, we have a diplomatic motorcade coming through this area in 10 minutes, we need to keep it as clear as we can!" then 10 minutes later he'd pick a car and have us follow it, clearing out any baddies we encountered as it went along.
Or he'd come up with a story about the CoT kidnapping people from a king's row building project and bringing them to Perez to use in rituals. We'd then hunt down the CoT spawns with the people in a green cloud.
I miss that guy heh.

Good work Aaron! <^_^>
If you don't mind a suggestion - have you considered trying to zoom in REAL close on characters? What I mean is; do just the upper body a few times? Even just the head?
Sometimes if you do that, then zoom back out, it'll improve your detail work. Merely a thought ,@_@> -

CJ: at first, I liked it. Then I woke up the next morning and decided I didn't like it at all. I waited a few days, saw it, and liked it again.
