Uhh, why are you referring to it as 1080p? We're not talking TV resos here...
Lower the Resolution Scaling all the way down (I think it's around 320x240). It works, but it's awful. -
Yep... tried both at every setting available, and I'm still getting the delay
EDIT: Okay, so I talked to a friend about this, and he told me it's probably an entire different issue that has nothing to do with anisotrop. He thought I was just seeing things. And he was right... I compared them again, and they were equal.
Turns out the issue is actually Vsync. I turned it off in Cats along with Triple Buffering, and no more mouse delay (however I was now experiencing AWFUL stuttering... constant 60FPS still, but if I watched, say, a power line as I ran by it, it jerked forward in little steps). Flipped back on Vsync/trip buff through Cats, and it's silky smooth... but mouse delay's back again.
I don't know what to do

Okay, hopefully this is my last question...
I recently upgraded my hardware, getting a 3870HD for my desktop along with a decent 2.9ghz dual-core processor. I've been able to successfully up my graphics to 1680x1050 with the graphics settings recommended by Bill, along with upping Particles to 50,000 and the view distance to 200%.
I'm having a different strange issue, though. I'm having input delay. I'm running at a silky smooth 60FPS CONSTANT, even on 8man controller teams... but I have a very annoying input delay issue. I've pinned the issue on Anisotropic Filtering. I've disabled it, and now the input's gone... but I'm very OCD about anisotrop, and would like to find some sort of workaround.
Any way to fix this without killing anisotrop? Tried lowering to 2x, it's still there. -

So, perhaps you can help me with this, I just a Toshiba Sateilite laptop with a ATI Radeon X1200. And guess what? It's having issues. Mainly the ground textures are very inconsistant, the road may in the right place one moment, but in the next it's overlapping the sidewalk. Also the my character often "sinks" about 1/4-1/2 under the ground just standing still or walking. Any advice?

I had this problem with a laptop as well. I fixed it by enabling FSAA to x2... I know, weird solution, but it works. -
I ended up temporarily "fixing" this issue by rolling back to REALLY old drivers. I tried the Catalyst drivers from 8.1-8.12 (I think that's the most recent one)... no go. Same issue.
-
Okay... I tried what you said. Removed ATI, restarted comp in safe mode, used Driver Sweeper to remove drivers, restarted in normal mode, extracted x1600 drivers then canceled installation, ran Mobility Modder, then installed.
And now when I run City of Heroes, I get this...

Any help? -
Hey again guys... this time I have a totally different issue.
So my friend gave me his laptop that he doesn't use anymore. It's an Acer, which I know isn't fantastic (and it's Vista >_<, but the specs are good... 1.6ghz dual core. Upon getting it, I went straight to canyourunit.com and checked to see if it could run City of Heroes. I was extremely happy when I saw it said that I could run it well above recommended. I tried to play the game, though, and it's far lower than the site said it should be.
My character's sitting in Talos right now aiming at the floor, 1024x768 resolution, using the "usetexenvcombine" and "compatiblecursors" settings... and I'm hovering at 5-6 FPS. Everything is as low as it can be, and it's horrible. It's worse than minimum, and canyourunit says I can play well above recommended. What's going on?
Here's what I've done.
- Vista tweaks to lower CPU usage (including disabling Aero/Themes Service)
- Defrag
- Complete reformat of harddrive
- Fresh install
- Lowering resolution (didn't change a thing)
- Removed ANYTHING that didn't have to be there in terms of services/programs running
- Correctly deleted old drivers (uninstall utility/restart in safe mode/driver sweeper/restart again), got new drivers from Acer website (I know that you can't get the right drivers from ATI... you have to go to Acer)
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks...
I really don't know what to do with this one.
EDIT: Oh, btw, the laptop is called an Acer Aspire 5100... and here's a link to what canyourunit gives me:

I don't think it would use bandwidth. Isn't physics client-side? I assume that includes capes and such. -

Merits for badges would seriously mess up the economy. I can see it being abused easily. People make new characters, then use Recall Friend on other toons to get them around Paragon City, getting all the exploration badges. It wouldn't take long, and it's an easy TF/Trial roll. Then they'd just make a new character and do it again. The market would be destroyed. -
Ah, don't worry; I'm not asking you to recommend anything ATI. I'm kinda stuck with the card, so no worries there.
Just figuring out the CPU stuff... I'm not too knowledgeable on CPUs and GPUs.
Yeah, I understand about the FPS issues... such is the engine, I suppose. -
Hey Bill,
I know this isn't really ATI-related, but I'm trying to follow your advice in getting a new CPU/mobo. I've been told this is a decent combo... do you think that, paired with the 3870, I could run 60fps at 1680x1050 (got a new LCD monitor), at the settings you recommended?

You should get in touch with Moggie! Some of the Austinites get together for lunch on a regular basis and I think that would be a great way for you to get to know some CO* players in your area!

Hmm... you're right. Unfortunately, my toons on Virtue are all <10. I think I need to play there more... is there a Virtue SG for Austinites?
On another note, I completely forgot about something hilarious that happened before the events began at D&B. About 15 minutes before they began letting people in, someone dared my brother to run through the doors into the room and yell "LEEEEEROYYYY JENNNKINS". He did. It was awesome. They all just stared at him and began to laugh. -
I'm an Austinite, but I know nobody that plays CoH locally anymore
I had friends that got me hooked on it, but that's about it.
-
Woohoo. I got in, and it was a great time. I didn't know there would be a huge amount of free food and drinks... extra bonus!
It was great meeting all the staff at PlayNC, as well as some players.Including, of course, the Defuser.

Okay, I'm leaving now to go to Dave & Busters, but I have two difficulties I'm gonna have to get through first.
1. Photo ID. I'm 18, but I don't have a driver's license or anything like that. I have a Student ID, but it's not laminated, so it'll look like I just made it or something and stuck a photo on.
2. I didn't register. I tried, believe me I tried... but it was always closed. Anyway, Ex said that if you come early you can get in. So I'm doing just that.
Wish me luck! -
I have been checking every single day for signups, and yet I have not seen Austin reopen at /all/. Come on guys, I live just five minutes away from D&B Austin and I want to go ;_;
-
I see. Thanks for the help, then, and I apologize for the email.
-
I'm really looking forward to this. The problem, though, is that I don't see anywhere I can sign up at for the Austin location. Is it closed, and am I jutt screwed out of this awesome opportunity? I live so close to D&B; it's gonna kill me to know there's awesome people that I can't meet there

Okay, I'm looking for a few sounds. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated.
1.Martial Arts sound effects... there's only two. One sounds like air being compressed, and the other is that loud "POW!"
2. Peacebringer fly sound effects, and the shields (if that's possible). That "ring" makes me not want to use my Peacebringer. -
<NVM, just realized my problem>

Hey
I've got a problem with this... I made nifty little human/squiddy/dwarf macros and lined 'em up on my powertray. They work fine... but every other time I use them it erases everything it says, except for the "go to power tray" part. I enter the huge code, and all that's left is "goto_tray 1" or something along those lines. Am I doing something wrong?
Note: I took the ""s off of the code as it ceased to work with them.
