  1. That's true, Austin is a strange city. Can't deny it.

The D&B is a little far from downtown, but i don't mind driving out there. We'd probably want to wait until after traffic died down, though, before meeting up.

We might want to PM some cell phone numbers around to stay in touch (especially giving them to Ex Libris, since she won't be in until later).
  2. Meeting at a hotel isn't bad, either. Save the visitors from even having to worry about anything downtown.
  3. So it's to be a 6th Street run with the not-Austinites? I never go downtown much (outside of the former and future Drafthouse locations), but I agree with Fosse that dance clubs should probably stay off the list.

Katz's and Opal's are nice and visible, but not too close to the main part of 6th. We may be better off meeting away from 6th and carpooling down closer to 6th (which would make parking and meeting easier).

A late dinner would also be good to get our bellies full and ready for a liquor infusion. Threadgill's is pure Austin, has ample parking, is really close to downtown, and very visible. (Plus, their strawberry rhubarb pie is soooooo good.)

I can fit three others in my car (four if three are really tiny).
  4. I will also be there, especially since I live right here in beautiful Austin, Texas, right in the best part of town: south Austin. I'd also love to come out for whatever player events are going on.

    I'm also on Virtue.
  5. Agreed. This is very awesome, and I appreciate your work on this.
  6. I was also at the event. Go there at about 5:15, and stayed until 11. It was pretty cool. I wish I had known about Virtue Row; I would have joined in. (Though I did make it to the picture.)

It was cool putting faces to rednames. The event was fun, and not too crowded (which I really liked; I'd have probably left if it had been too crowded). I finally got to try a Bawls last night, and that is one nasty drink. Bleh!

For the naysayers, Austin is a fantastic place, and is perfect for any big event. The city isn't too big, has tons of fun things to do and places to eat, and is pretty central to the country. Plus, we can wear short sleeves in the winter. It's a great city in many, many ways.

Caught Pann (from AutoAssault) after the event at Kerbey Lane Cafe. Said a quick hello and thanks, and left her to enjoy a late dinner.

Two cute moments of the evening for me were seeing these two little girls (about 10, I think), getting their AutoAssault hats signed by one of the AutoAssault bigwig team members. They were totally geeking out about it. Happy to see the next generation of nerds.

Second, I was driving away after the end through the strip center's parking lot, and saw a guy on his bike with the big NCsoft swagbag on his back. Just a cool thing to see.

Hope to have another one of these in the future!
  7. Good times tonight. Like the others, I'd like to offer thanks to NCsoft for offering this to us. It was really organized, not too crowded, and generally pretty cool. Everyone the NC staff was really nice, even though I didn't really get to talk to many of them. (Though I did catch the Auto Assault lady at Kerbey Lane afterward and told her thanks. Sorry I don't know your name!) All of the staff was pretty busy tonight, either with running things or with mingling among us.

Thanks again, and hope to do it once more in the future!

    Website: wave-heroes.tripod.com

    Leader: @infallible

Method of Contact: In game e-mail or chat is great. There's also have a form on our website to contact us along with a forum. In addition, feel free to PM me here in the forums.

Description: WAVE is a supergroup for mature gamers that have real life obligations. None of us is a power gamer, and we all understand that sometimes work, school, or family may keep you away from gaming or interrupt a mission. We welcome most anyone, so long as they understand this and can remember that the game is supposed to be fun. Our members are diverse in age, but we all value good gaming and have a good attitude.

We do have a weekly group that meets for missions every Wednesday, but otherwise, are very laid-back as far as SG obligations. Members are free to role play as much or as little as they like, but most of us are very light RPers. There's no required meetings or events, and "casual gaming" describes us very well.

Feel free to join us for our weekly group. We meet at 7 PM (central) on Wednesday nights. We'd love to have you along.

The slight problem is that our subscription rate pays for updates and maintenence. If we hope to see updates to the villain-side of the game, and maintenence on the severs that house the villain portions of the game, accounts, etc, then this will also need to be paid for. My bet is each game will be 15 bucks, both for 20. that is equitable to me.

This is the problem that I see. The cost of the actual game pays for the initial developement. Your monthly fee pays for the servers and updates. I can't imagine CoV not costing *something* extra per month, but I doubt they'll make us pay double. I think $20 for both is a fair price.
