Did you know that this is an easy way to see if a fire will be starting in Steel Canyon? The 5 (6?) buildings all have their fires start at sunset. If the lights go on in the buildings, there will not be a fire in that building that night. And all the lights still come on in those buildings

Very well versed post (except that I haven't overlooked anything). I understood all of what you stated beforehand. I merely stated that I don't agree with it. I also told you that you should be careful what you wish for because, until you're the one who has it happen to them, you haven't viewed it from both sides.

Playing the consentual risk-taking individual is the easy path. Having it done by some jacktard who thinks they're funny because they got you debt numerous times while you were there to PvP is what will cause a change of heart. I've seen it happen numerous times and it won't slow down.

I don't personally care because I only take my 50's and a Stalker that knows when to quit in there. I, however, do enjoy having other people to PvP against. An influx in Dev-backed griefers will cause the number of opponents to dwindle. Thus, I don't like their idea. Thus, I don't accept their idea as my approach and will argue its logic with anyone who wants to.

Agro caps were introduced to stop PLing.
Police Drones were introduced to stop Monster Griefing.
TP Prompt was introduced to stop TP Griefing.

The Devs have a history of identifying community-breaking issues and fixing them in such a way as to encourage the community to interact without being jacktards to each other. They also have a history of taking the hard road and making a necessary decision in the face of strong adversity (read ED). This time, they took the morally easy road, and encouraged behavior that specifically divides the community. That, IMO, is wrong.

Be careful what you wish for. I'm sure you won't be thanking someone if they start chain-tp'ing and mezzing you into a mob.

Again, I don't give a crap about giving myself debt. I do it all the time, and if you know me, you know that I would rather incur debt on my own part than ever leave a teammate behind. There are times when I'm fine with getting debt on my terms. I don't like someone else forcing debt on me and I definitely don't like the Devs stating that, even if the person admits, flaunts, brags, and continuously works on and about giving me debt with no intention of PvPing in any fashion, there will be no repurcussion for that person.

They took the easy way out and chose not to face the difficult decision of taking it on a case-by-case basis. Since that encourages any and all griefers (people intent on doing nothing but causing grief to other players) by telling them that no punishment will exist for them, I feel it's a bad decision.

You're welcome to your opinion, but I would recommend viewing the situation from both sides first.

Did you know...

...that the Admin server was once hacked and numerous servers were forcefully shut down numerous times (Champion 4 times, Guardian twice, Pinnacle and Triumph once each I believe)? Some screenies are here and (warning, next pic contains cursing) here.

...that Giant Monsters from Monster Isle in northern Peregrine Island could be taunted all the way to the center of Portal Court and even the ferry in PI? There are now Police Drones in Portal Court specifically because of this.

...that Devs have access to a power pool no other characters do? It's named Resistance with a power in it named Resistance. It can be seen in their info screens, just like on players'. A screenie is here.

...I hold a record? I was the first person on any server (to forumites' knowledge) to have 400.0 Rep on a character. Rep was initially bugged so taht it reset everytime you left a zone and sometimes when you logged in/out. For some reason, for about a week, mine never reset. It reset the day after I hit 400.0 Rep and verified it was the cap through screenies.

...50'ing a Kheldian spawns a message that says, "Epic Archetype Unlocked!"? It still does this, but may be changed by the time some of our newer players 50 one

Edit: As I said in-game, the only repurcussion now will be player-induced. I know I'll be starting a personal list of folks who I will not team with for PvP now.

You came in and took a stance that I disagree with. I stated why another person had their outlook. You then called my approach neurotic and proceeded to judge me personally based on my explanation of why another person felt the way they did. I then personally assessed your view based on the statements you have/had made.

You feel "villainized" (word?) because you took the stand of a rude approach. You supported giving other players unnecessary debt. You gave very broad, illogical reasons (if you're just collecting a 5 hr badge, what does it hurt for you to be killed by a Stalker? Obviously nothing) for this and then changed your story when confronted with other ways to avoid that approach.

All of this results in me confronting your stance, arguments, reasons, and insults with my own. Anyone who takes stances I don't agree with, argues points I don't agree with, gives illogical reasoning for the aforementioned stances or points, or insults me gets the same treatment.
