Now you can say that this existed pre MA in PI with all the demon farming etc., but I didnt even find PI for the first year I played cause I never had a reason to go there (I was very alt-aholic back then). Even then the mechanics of sk'ing came into play and you had to have someone willing to pl and a bridge. All these "safeties" are removed in MA so once again people will go with the path of least resistance and do what everyone else is doing to lvl their toons.

    If you dont agree with my methods for "locking MA content" out of hands of low level toons. What if instead MA was unlockable at lvl 50 like the epic AT's. That way you are "forced" to play regular content at least once, and then if you want to live in the AE building for the rest of your gaming experience you can.

    I kind of agree. i see people trying to do ITF's and Stf's without the proper training. The devs should set it so you need at least 10 lvl 50's before you are allowed to do these TF's. That will ensure you have the required experience and AT knowledge.

    I clearly said they can play with eachother. I also screen to see how many AE badges they have compared to their vet badges. IFf they have the 12 month badge and AE badges I dont really mind but when you have more AE badges than anything else I do mind and remove them.

    It isn't welcoming but it is fair, it is fair the the rest of the team that has for years grinded, teamed, perfected their toons and spent months getting levels compared to a lazy N00b that AE's during DBL-XP.

    How bout a Dom that doesn't take his ST Holds or ST Immobs.

    The best is the Mind/Thorn that didn't take the confuse attacks and blamed the rest of the team for how fast he face planted. He also said that he did so well in AE and he doesnt know why he isnt doing so well in PvE.


    This brings up a prime example of why AE is bad. You have a map full of bosses and full of awesome XP but... the map is filled with just one type of foe, in a real mission you have so many variables and so many things that when you leave the AE wading pool, you are screwed and can't play right and are directly making the experience of others suck.

    If the AE N00bs want to AE... let them stay there in their own lil building.
    You are an elitist *****. How about a tank that doesnt have taunt. etc etc. You dont get to choose their powers or when they execute them. I would kick you from the team the minute you gave the star back. There have been players like this for 5 years. Nothing new.

    Farm Exploit?

    If there are that many new players, the AE did its job. The devs are not about to geld it to make people play with you. I did 7 tf's between 2 servers this weekend. There are plenty of teams out there, you have to find them.

    I am getting tired with the complaining about new players. When we started playing, we were shown the ropes. Last week I took a new player, helped him get to lvl 7, showed him the hollows, kings row, steel canyon etc. Even tp'd him to the costume shop to make some alterations. Gave him some inf to start him out right. That guy will probably stick around, as opposed to those you kick from your team because they dont have enough vet badges.

    It was never my intention to "pick a nit" it just bugs me seeing people say things like "The devs couldn't do that because it would be like false advertising with the Architect edition on the shelves".
    My only point (originally) was that there is no such thing as "false advertising" when it comes to MMO's. They frequently change in drastic ways from whatever is advertised on the original box(or even subsequent re-releases).
    That was it. Nothing else. I didn't intend to imply that I thought they should or shouldn't do anything, only that they could if they chose.

    false advertising is what a jury says it is. That statement is not a bullet proof shield protecting them from liability. Just like a sign saying "management is not responsible for any injury" actually protects them from liability. If it was insurance companies would be in trouble.

    If I were a Dev, I would remove the XO from AE missions, increase the number of tickets required to buy stuff, slightly increase the amount of tickets obtained from a mission...that would nearly eliminate the AE from a farming tool and move the mechanic of this feature to content based...( I am sure the dev team is looking at the mastermind behind User Content and is kicking them)

    In order to remove regular farming, I would make missions non repeatable, I also wouldn't allow to drop missions.

    If a mission wants to be repeated, it can be done so as far as the mission gets nerfed XP.

    In order to prevent the market issues that create farming I would cap items bids on the BM/WW...If certain recipes only go for 10 million and not 50 million there would be no need to play the market/Farm/PL!


    To me it seems the devs like farming, they went so far as to create custom difficulty settings that allows a player of 1 play like a team of 8....I am against farming but the devs seem to be happy to assist farming!

    If I were a dev, I would eliminate exploits whenever found. I would continue to tweak and refine. I would quickly get the next issue into beta to add content and make a "new shiny". I would go ahead with GR and put it out as soon as it was ready.

    You do realize that the spawn slider, unless enabled for AE missions, is meant as a tool to attract people to farm the normal game content, where the Devs actually have much better control over exploits and Risk vs Reward concepts, right?

    You have no idea what characters are flagged for what. It very well may be a problem. Reward calculations are complicated stuff. there is always the possibility that a bug has appeared, just like any other part of the game. /bug it and hopefully we will find if it is a problem.

    It has to do with what the devs want to see. If they like lots of solo'ing, then no. If they want to encourage teams, then yes. All depends on what kind of game posi wants to see.

The latter group will hate this. They still wont be able to stand on the corner and get picked up(by a team).     To fix farming without making drastic changes to the way the MA works, and at the same time revitalize an old zone that hasn't seen use in some time, the devs could remove ALL AE buildings from the rest of the game and put a single, unmarked, building containing the MA in the Shadow Shard.

    Also make the Shadow Shard a coop zone and give the villains access...
    I can just imagine the lowbies trying to navigate those stupid jump things.

    I see no indication in your original post that implies the suggestion being serious or not so how were you expecting me to not take it seriously?

    I'm sure there's a good reason there's a level restriction for the area too, one of them being perhaps to prevent lowbies from beng able to buy raptor packs there and thus invalidating the incentive to do the safeguard mission to get it.

    Last but not least Peregrine Island isn't intended for lowbies anyway. I'd imagine it's hard enough running past snipers there to get to Portal Corp without getting one-shotted.
