I think the fact that skills won't be in the next update will be what has me thinking I won't be back ever. I've already quit this game once to play The World of Warcraft exclusively and came back to play with my characters because I spent lots of time on them, did some sketches and even a finished drawing of them and spent some time on their backgrounds. I was really expecting great things with Update #3 and guess what, my level 22 and level 20 have only benefitted from the respecification of powers aside from the balancing that gets done every update. I agree that the /respec has really changed my characters for the better but I feel a bit shortchanged for paying for 3 months. When Update #4 arrives it won't have skills but rather an arena?-Well certain people don't like PvP and guess what?-I happen to be one of them.
I mean in the World of Warcraft its okay because its only in certain high level zones so there is a sense of danger and its also consensual at all levels. If I had to choose in WOW between skills(Blacksmithing/ Mining, ENchanting, Leatherworking, etc..,. and PvP there would be no contest). It would be skills. To me, choosing Arenas over Skills for the Update #4 is wrong. I for one was looking forward to the skills so much that I was going to fork over another three months but that won't be happening. The skills were going to keep me interested because the gameplay would completely change but now with PvP instead I am not interested. I'm sorry Cryptic, I gave you 3 months, have 2 left and now realize since update 4 won't have what I want, its time to say goodbye. Its a shame because I really wanted to like play this game and was jazzed at the thought of update #4 but now it seems like there will be another 4-5 months of the same old grind. I just don't think its worth my $15 a month anymore. -

Fly really is terrible for combat (due to the end usage and the accuracy debuff) and isn't all that great for travel either (it's sloooow).

I was curious about this. Do people fight with Fly running? I usually switch to Hover while attacking and then switch back to Fly only to change where I'm Hovering.

I used to fight with hover but that was rare. Now that I respec my blaster I chose Air superiority because another attack power can't hurt. -
Yeah, fly really should be as fast as Superspeed. The only reason I'd choose one over another really depends on the characters background. For example my Knight Thorn character would never fly, hes a dark brooding, vigilante type whos honed his fighting skills and body to a diamond like an unstoppable fighting monk. He can superjump but flight just wouldn't seem right. My Electric Blaster Elektra Watts though would never use superjump because she can travel by way of electrical currents and therefore superspeed would be the natural, logical choice. Captain Mexico, my Fire Blaster uses Flight for traveling because it goes with his cape and his whole background as well.-Hes like a Superman for Mexico. That goes into another thing I think sucks and that being lack of options at level 20 besides being able to choose a cape. Some heros do not need capes, Cryptic should give us an alternative at level 20. Knight Thorn or Elektra Watts won't be getting one, they should get more costume options or some aura options or maybe 2 more slots or an extra power choice.

.....If flyspeed had the same max as runspeed, why would anyone ever take superspeed?

Because Superspeed fits specific characters that flight would not. -

Also keep in mind that when people ask for scrappers (or whatever archtype) duel wielding pistols ... Pulp is what they are really after.
Give me a Rocket Pack, a piece of chewing gum (to hold the Pack together) and a pistol any day of the week.
Ready to kick Ming the Merciless' butt,

I'd love to see dual wielding pistols for scrappers. I'd also love to see us being able to customize our powers colors and particle effects, that way we could be that much more individual. Icing on the cake would be apartments for each of us so we could hang out in them using our aliases and vehicles. I'd love to give Knight Thorn a black motorcycle. The Matrix Online is pretty amazing in that you can walk into each and every room of each and every building or so I've read, if City of Heros were to adopt that one day it would be amazing. -
Great, I just sent my rendition of the character I play as on the Freedom Server........heres the link if you guys want to see it.
