The lost are Mind controlled.
They are forced to work for the rikti.
They are homeless who are captured and brainwashed by the Rikti in the Sewer so they fight for them. -

Quote:have you seem the first batman BEFOR the censorship law?Batman is not an anti-hero. He even technically works with in the law, stretching the citizen's arrest allowances.
he was a brutal anti hero.
batman is coming back to its old roots with the dark knight.
the batman you saw during the 70 was not the real one.
it was the reconnected censored version for kiddo. -
Quote:i fully agree with you.So referring back to WWII as an example, you would consider the men and women that perpetrated acts of terror upon the occupying German forces and their supporters less heroic?
You see since they were fighting on our side we didn't call them terrorists. Instead we called them saboteurs and resistance fighters, even tho they used the exact same tactics we today label terrorism.
And we all have seen the movie scene where a dying soldier tells his buddies to go on without him because he'll only slow them down then after they leave he pulls the pins on his grenades and waits for the enemy to capture him. When they arrive he drops the grenades and blows the enemy up with himself.
And how about the film "The Flying Tigers" when the character Woody flew a plane loaded with explosives into a supply train.
i am agains't that label.
in my head terrorism is only when they kill non combatant. -

you guy do realise.
that we agreed about the reformed gang leader idea.
we are currently talking about the detonator power.
that is in my mind quite not heroic but i CAN be wrong.
so befor calling me a troll see my other post. -
Quote:have you read my other post?I see falloutsurvivor has slotted his trolling enhancements.
He's just trying to use the term "terrorist" to bait someone into responding with a kneejerk response.
He's doing this because he can't refute any of the examples given that have easily explain heroic Masterminds so he's trying to pretend that the examples haven't been given.
i said i AGREED with the reformed gang leader thing.
NOW we are talking about the detonator power.
i am not trolling.
you are.
and you just sent a knee-jerk response so i guess i win?
read my other post befor posting. -

so you consider terrorist who strap a bomb to their chest HEROIC?

Quote:agreed. You were there were you? Or perhapes your personal superpower is 'perfect-knowledge-of-human-nature-and-social-conventions-through-out-the-ages'?
You wanted an example of incidents of it that werent due to abuse of power or lunacy; you were given one. A dam good one infact, and your responce is 'dont count' becasue you can 'guarantee' somthing you are in no position to 'garantee'.
Degrees of inbreeding in aristocay have been common for as long a there has been aristocracy, and the reason is not insanity or abuse of power, (thou it isn't smart either) is to preserve the 'purity' of the 'blue blood'. -

Quote:agreedActually, what's more distressing is the Tier Nine Traps for MMs which can only be villainous with three out of five of the powersets-
Detonator:
A good Mastermind always plans ahead, but a great one knows when to make a strategic sacrifice. You have equipped all your henchmen with explosives. When the time is right, select a henchman and set off the Detonator. Undead and Robots are easily rigged and will blow up instantly, devastating nearby enemies. Ninjas, Soldiers and other free thinking henchmen will try to place the explosive on the ground and get away. But you know... the fuse is short.
Reeeaaaally hard to make that a heroic power. -
Quote:thanks you. You're asking this as we have another group that runs around attacking small-time thugs with flamethrowers and automatic weapons? Y'know, Longbow? "You! Stop mugging that woman!" *break out rifles, flamethrowers, and chainguns*
Not to mention almost every "hero" in the game is essentially a vigilante, a bunch of superpowered Bernie Goetz types.
You want someone to spell out a bio for you? OK.
<Character> watched as his father lost his job, lost his self respect, and eventually lost the will to live as Kings Row fell into ruin. He saw his neighborhood fall into disrepair, gangs moving in to make it their territory. It seemed to him - and many of his friends - that the only way to survive was to join up. The Skulls were the family he had lost... but as he rose through the ranks, he felt less and less at ease with himself, with what he saw in his new "family."
Finally, he had enough. He chose to reform, to take back his neighborhood and, with a few like minded (now former) gang members, decided to fight fire with fire. Hopefully he'll win more to his cause, reclaiming his neighborhood... and the city it's a part of.
There. You now have a heroic "thugs mastermind," with built in reason for his "gang" getting larger as he levels. It's not that difficult if you use the tiniest bit of imagination.
Edit: And I see GG referenced the same idea.
all i wanted was an answer.
no reason to flame me.
i agree about the reformed gang leader thing :-)
i should have though of it. -
we know that with going rogue we will be able to change faction.
but a thug mastermind HEROES?
really?
thug are criminal how will it fit with the lore ? -
so maybe the doppleganger thing is for Issue 17 and not GR

since Preatoria is a mirror universe.
will we get to meet our mirrored self ?
maybe if your a heroes you will have to fight your mirror self. -
Quote:I honestly consider Phipps to be by far the most evil contact in the game. The actual things he does can be considered petty, but the idea behind it - that he goes out of his way to destroy any pathetic hope that exists in the hearts of the weakest that the world can be a better place, and that there are people in authority who approve of him doing so - is absolutely blood chilling, and far more frightening than any random megalomaniac out to conquer the world with his robot legions or whatever (yes, Lord Nemesis, I'm looking at you...)
He's not a nutter like Dr. Creed or doing it for the evulz like Peter Themari. He kicks puppies because the people in power have decided that puppies need to be kicked as a matter of policy.
i hate Phipps.
HE is Evil.
tyrant just fascist pig (more gray than evil) -
Quote:ok thanks :-)Rogue Isles are not a ghost town, except port oakes in places....
try this recent thread on same subject: World pvp (at least read the start) .
It comes out a bit. -
i dont know if there a thread about it but here something that could be fun.
it would be fun if heroes could go to the rogue isle (but not turn villain like GR will bring.) and pvp with the villain there and vice versa.
i think it would bring more peep to the rogue isle and paragon.
the bad:
of course griefer and ganker will start to apear.
but the good side is the rogue isle will no longer be a ghost town :-( -
