Seriously though, I've heard of people hitting 50 in three, so hitting 40 in four isn't a big accomplishment and doing it as one of the easiest builds in the game doesn't say much.
[/ QUOTE ]
i guess you didn't notice he said 20 hours a week. when you play 8-10 hours a day of course you'll hit 50 in three weeks. reading comprehension is your friend.
and if you try to tell me someone hit 50 in 60 hours i'm going to reach through your screen and strangle you. -
Sharpe uses an awaken so he doesnt have to walk all the way back to the scene of the crime. he finds scourge of death...fear... darkness... whatever his name was and shoots him in the forehead with a potato gun he stole from a little kid. the piece of potato lodges itself in ...his brain causing him to die a most painful death. Sharpe then goes and hands the kid his potato gun back.

Sharpe hears a Yak get downed outside.
wtf is a Yak doing here... I MUST AVENGE IT!!!
Sharpe runs out, spots immortal, and cries out "LOOK, IT'S JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE! OVER THERE! OOOH!" the following stampede of school girls tramples immortal leaving him quite dead. -
Sharpe steps in, looking a little too clean.
must.. get.. blood... on.. suit...
he puts his right index and middle finger to his forehead and looks intently at experiment. a MIND BULLET lashes out and strikes experiment in the chest, killing him instantly. his lifeless body falls in theatrical slow motion onto a pink bunny nibbling on a peculiar patch of grass, squishing the bunny. a spuirt of blood from the bunny lands on Sharpe's upper thigh.
*sigh* it's a start. -
meh, finally got around to it. now im not much of a writer(at least my last english teacher didn't think so...) but i had fun with this. please try to look past the grammatical/spelling/punctuation errors and tell me why the content sucks.
oh, and i wrote it in notepad cause i'm at a lan cafe w/o any writing programs ><. so if it looks weird(spacing etc.) that's why. hope you enjoy it!
i am Sylpher. i was developed in a laboratory in a solar
system 21,046 lightyears from this planet your people call
earth. i am what is known in my system as an evolutionary
enforcer. i represent my people on this planet earth.
i am the product of an act passed by my government called the
equal opportunity for evolution act. the act states that
we(the phlanthosians) as an advanced race must ensure that
each other race in this dimension get an equal oportunity to
make of their civilization what they may without any
outside interference. while it is impossible to do this
without influencing their society at all, we are obliged to
try our best to keep others from intruding on the process.
i was created as soon as our leaders fortold us of the Rikti
invasion soon to take place. because of the need to be
present when the invasion began i was unable to recieve
complete training in my abilities. it was neccessary that i
reach earth as soon as possible. i arrived the same day the
portals began to open above paragon city. as soon as i landed
it was obvious that i would have a difficult time with my
mission. there were more Rikti than our leaders had told us
of. i could not prevent the destruction that fell upon the
city. my lack of training ment that i was nearly useless
in the fight between the local 'Heroes' and the Rikti forces.
i watched in what humans have described to me as being horror
as my mission escalated in difficulty as more and more portals
opened. it was obvious to me that i couldn't possibly do
what i was sent here to do.
i contacted my homeworld's leaders and asked them what they
wished me to do. they held a meeting of the minds and decided
that i should remain on earth. they told me that if i continued
fighting the Rikti, i would naturally learn everything
the training i had missed would have taught me. it would take
much longer but i would learn on my own what i needed to
defeat the Rikti.
after i had listened to their decision i started my new mission.
i continued fighting against the Rikti and began learning about
my inbred abilities. i learned i had an innate gift to control the
forces of gravity. i also found that i could use my ability to
gravity to pull particles in the air together and
form shieldlike bubbles around fellow 'heroes' and myself. i
could call specific particles resistant so certain substances
into a bubble designed to protect someone from that substance.
during my many encounters with the Rikti i ran into many of the
local 'Heroes' of paragon city. they informed me of a few
of the other presences in the city such as the Tsoo and
the Vahzilok. i grew to be friends with a few of these 'heroes'
and began helping them with their struggle against these other
"forces of evil" as they called them. a week after my first
clash with the skulls, a gang of misfits terrorizing the people
of paragon, i got a message from my homeworld's leaders.
the message informed me that i had been convicted of the crime of
interfering with another race's evolutionary track. i had
24 hours to return to our homeworld and then i would serve
a sentence of 3,200 years at the algotheran repentance station
on the planet artienis.
i was thuroughly distraught. i had been created to protect the
people of this planet from the Rikti. in my time on earth i
had grown mentally attached to a few of the 'heroes' i had
asscociated with. they had taken me in and shown me all their
planet, their society had to offer. i helped them rid earth
of a few uncontributing individuals and i was being punished for
it. i didn't understand how my deeds had warranted this. it
didn't make sense to me why i wasn't supposed to remove all
of the antagonizers. why only remove the Rikti? why not help
them with ALL of their problems? they had decided to punish me
by removing me from earth for 3,200 years. a miniscule amount
of time to my kind. what they were really doing was taking
me from my newfound 'friends'. i would never be able to
see them again.
i decided within the hour that i would not return home. i
decided that the leaders were wrong. i decided to stay and
help rid this world of ALL it's problems whether my people
felt it was right or not. i understood that some may call
me 'selfish' for my decision. i decided i didn't care.
i would stay in paragon city and fight for a better world. -

I think it's funny... People can't have their own experience anymore. They have to find the perfect build so they can rule the world.

you seem to be having "your own experience" thereby invalidating this statement.
there are people in this world that enjoy efficiency. try to respect that. if you don't want to add to this thread in a positive way, don't. you aren't required to. but please don't insult us for doing what we find fun. -
heh, very nice tompos. i like the way you explained your power. im anxious for part 5!

yes, yes you do. you think you're the *****. you're bragging about these "great accomplishments" that aren't that difficult. do something hard and tell me about it. you've just showed us that you're standards for PLing are incredibly low, and that you shouldn't be listened to at all. so much came from those two sentences. that's talent.
now i havent played since the update, so i'm not going to say that it's still incredibly inefficient to go after purples. At the time this thread started, the best way to PL was going after whatever you could 2-hit KO. then you run to the next group. that's it. for most this is whites and yellows. some people could handle oranges with two hits. w/e you could handle with 2 hits, that's what you go after. why were you going after purples... if you would like, i can show you some #s proving this. i haven't bothered yet for the knew patch since im out of town.
the point is, when this thread started, rsrob was completely right. his advice was great.
telling him his advice is bad now, after a major patch... go do something productive. -
saying hover is a req for PLing is like saying elec blasters can compete with ARs. it's just friggin WRONG!
if you continue to stand by that statement you will lose any credibility you've managed to hold on to. you're just wrong. you need to admit it.
coming to this thread and flaming this guy's work with references that are WRONG is a waste of everyone's time. there are people trying to learn from others with more experience. people who KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT and your crap just gets in the way.

lol i was taking his guide seriously untill he said "you only get 4 power pool powers" . . then why do i have 6?
[/ QUOTE ]
this hurts my eyes.

LoL power leveling!!! HAHAHAHA without HOVER!! LoL!!! hahahahahahaha what an @$$
[/ QUOTE ]
so what exactly do you think hover does for PLing? pre-fly, turning it on will slow you down to a crawl, which despite the +def, will get you killed. i'm not sure, but don't all three of the starting Power Pool abilities(hover/hasten/combat jumping) give the same +def bonus? -
holy crap... 2 weeks?
if that is true, i think YOU should be writing a PG thread.
meaning, write one plz! -
last night was incredible.
my fire/dev blaster jumped from lvl 23 to lvl 26.4 in about... 7 hours. this was done in Dark Astoria at 2am(west coast). had to be the most insane xp i've ever seen.
the process consisted of:
1) run up to group w/ ss CD on, hit aim, smoke grenade middle guy.
2) fire breath middle guy(on average would hit 7-9 out of 10-12 of the banished pantheons)
3) fire ball same middle guy, run onto the next group
this left Lts and some randoms alive which often tried to chase me down. since the groups are all so close together, i could get 4-5 Lts and a bunch of minions following me at once.
when i decided there were enough, caltrops+smoke+fire breath+fire ball = even more xp. with stam 5-slotted until 25, then 6-slotted, i didnt really run out of end. my insp slots filled up with bounce backs and healths because i wasnt getting hit/dying. i also had an emp/rad defender and an ill/storm controller following in my wake, mopping up the leftovers. every once in a while i'd meet up w/ them again for recovery aura.
i'm relatively inexperienced(highest character is 26 and counting) and so my question for you guys, is this possible at later lvls or should i enjoy the easy xp now and get ready for slow lvling?
-
heh, i forgot to tell you i liked your guide a lot rob(prolly cause it's almost exactly my fire/dev). i dont agree with you about nerfage tho, i think all the other ATs should just be brought up to pace as far as lvling goes. i can barely stand 2-18 as it is...
but im sure the devs will make it all better -
<begin rant>
wow. imean.. just wow.
rob puts up a PL guide and of course all the RPGers start complaining that PLing is dumb. If you don't like it, DONT DO IT!!!
and then all the elec/whatever people start talking about "im not inferior! i refuse to believe i chose wrong for PLing!". how can you even pretend that end drain is "just if not more" effective as knockback. when you knock a mob back, they're down for the 2-5 sec's they're alive whereas with end drain, they lose a miniscule % of their end and shoot at you 1-2 times... see how it matters pie?
<end rant>
