    Farming doms?

Yeah, the radius decrease is what totally killed PSW for me. Now I basically have to split a 6 man spawn into two "groups" because it can't hit everything at once anymore. So much for him becoming my purple farmer in i16.

    Liberate.....me?

If we're talking non-AE missions, I fail to see how brutes were still better than doms at farming before the dom changes. From my experience doms blazed through the liberate TV mission faster than any brute I've seen.

Then again, it doesn't really matter much since that's all in the past anyway. :P

I really hope that's not the case, as I really love to farm with dominators. It's just a lot more fun to do for me. I do have a SS/SD brute as a beastly farmer, but I definitely preferred my dom.

Perhaps I just need to tweak my build a bit as I pretty much relied on PSW and drain psyche only from the /Psi set. Any other powers worth using now?

    Farming doms?

So silly me just found out today that i15 nerfed /Psi's psychic shockwave into near crap and I am no longer able to farm on my Fire/Psi as I once used to (was wondering for a while why I never saw a single Fire/Psi farmer since I came back a month ago :P). I was planning on bringing him out again in i16 to farm nemesis, but I'm not sure if /Psi is a good farming choice now. Is /Psi still the farming king or should I try out a different secondary?
  5. Wow, I did not know about the suppression. So basically if I make sure I use the attack after 5 seconds it will continue to proc? Either way it still boosts my recharge tremendously, where as with fire melee I wouldn't get any nice recharge boosts. Ah well, I will probably be trying out both anyway. :P
  6. Well I've been playing around in Mids with an Elec/Elec build and a Fire/Fire build, and it looks like with the Elec/Elec I'll be able to get an insane amount of recharge due to lightning reflexes and the FF +rech proc in lightning strike (or is it thunder strike? gah, that one attack where you jump up and knock stuff down). Assuming the proc hits most of the time, that's 120% recharge without even trying. I'm wondering if that alone would trump the Fire/Fire or if fiery embrace and burn would put out more damage. Ack, the choices!
  7. I wasn't using exclusive or, so SS/SD still doesn't count. :P

For some reason I keep leaning towards Elec/Elec. After reading all the posts about electric armor sucking I can't help but think I can be the one that proves them wrong. :P Eh, I'll probably end up hating myself around the 30s and roll a Fire/Fire anyway. :P
  8. I was actually thinking Elec/FA myself. Does electric really have that terrible of AoE power? Seems like a pretty pointless set then since basically all of it's attacks are AoE based. :/

So fiery embrace combined with the fire primary dish out some good AoE? I rarely see any fire melee toons so I'm just kind of surprised you guys said fire melee.
  9. I'm an alt-o-holic, even on my farming toons. :P I have a SS/SD toon and even though he's godly I can't stand the rage crash (especially when it crashes JUST before you use shield charge) and defense sets are kind of Jekyll and Hyde for me (for a while you don't take a single hit, and then suddenly you die out of nowhere). I have an idea of what the next "best" farming combo would be, but I wanted to hear some discussion on it first before throwing in my opinion.
  10. Moving from spawn to spawn shouldn't be depleting your fury. I usually go to the next spawn when there are only a couple enemies left in the first one. If you have trouble taking alphas, I suggest you stock up on some purple or orange inspirations. I find on my shield brute if I pop one or two purples for the first couple mobs the team usually catches on and keeps up with me the rest of the way so I don't even need to pop those insps anymore.

And if the team is moving TOO fast for you to build any fury, I'd say don't even worry about it since the team is steamrolling anyway.
  11. I know I said I was done with the topic, but I thought of something after I posted that. I just find it funny that about a year ago when I was new to brutes I posted a somewhat similar topic in the brute forum, and every single response was "oh yes, I know the feeling" or "yep, you got a hold of some really bad MMs". I think by posting it here I simply ticked off a bunch of MM players. :P

So once again, I apologize for back tracking half way through and turning the topic into a mess that no one understands. I did try to stir up trouble at first, and that's a bad idea on any forum. Every AT has a role that can help steamroll missions, and now I'm going off to learn the ways of masterminding to better myself as a player.

Ok, NOW I'm leaving this topic. :P

You seem to think that brutes are the most important team member, everyone should kowtow to them, and doubly so when you are the brute. I've no idea why you've gotten such a negative response

    [/ QUOTE ]

Every team member has their role, I have no idea where you get that I think brutes are the most important. I'd be nothing without the buffs from others or sharing aggro with other brutes/MMs on the team. Brutes do provide some serious damage (more than scrappers at full fury if I remember correctly?), so please tell me you agree that not being able to hit most of the mob with an AoE attack is very inefficient? Keeping the group together is good for corruptors and doms as well (well if there were doms on the team I guess I wouldn't be complaining) NOT JUST ME THE SUPER EGOTISTIC AWESOME BRUTE.

And in regards to how I presented the topic, I have to agree it did start out as a rant. I had just teamed with 5 MMs, 3 of which were bots, so I wanted to kill myself from the lag and the enormous amount of scattering that took place. I suppose this should be my time to leave the topic (I promise I will this time) as it has certainly turned into an ugly mess. I'm going to roll a bots MM now, so have fun picking through this post to find more stuff to ream Mr. Ego Brute about.
  13. Yep, never again making a topic on these forums unless it's a question, since 90% of the people here don't comprehend when they read. My very first post already stated my beef is with bots MMs, and to a lesser degree the others (they do cause minor annoyances, but nothing to go crying about). My beef is not that any knockback = bad, it's that you as the human have little control over how the knockback is used (or at least 95% of the people playing this game will not go to the forums and seek out keybinds to better control the AI, or even know they exist). I'm not some super ego brute running around trying to tell everyone how I want things to work, I'm trying to figure out these MMs so I can work WITH them. I thought most forum goers were min/max guys like myself trying to find the fastest way to steamroll missions, but most of the responses have been "cry moar", so maybe that isn't the case...

    Multiple MM Q's

Obviously I don't the answers seeing as I created said topic :P, but I do hope to get MY questions answered from THIS thread.
  15. Well, I'm pretty much done with this thread since NO ONE seems to understand why almost the entire group getting scattered out of AoE range is a problem (that's not an exaggeration at all, literally every minion except two or three goes flying and runs away). Thanks for the responses, but I'm gonna let this thread die or become a joke thread like most on these forums. >_>
  16. Oi, I'm sorry for calling it MY mob. Jeez, you guys turn every word I say into I have an ego problem. Have I not said enough I communicate with my team as much as possible and try to utilize every character? I'm sorry if I come off as having an ego problem.

Seriously, you think most people who play this game even KNOW what keybinds and stuff are? I'm not disputing the fact that they are helpful and should be used, but I guarantee a majority of MM players aren't up to learning it and implementing it into the game. You have to be realistic and not expect everyone to play the way you want them to (you see what I did there?).

And please explain how a brute needs to adapt to their mob being scattered across the whole map.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So what if you have to fun 5 or 10 more feet to hit them is it really that a big deal?

    [/ QUOTE ]

When the 3 brutes on your team are AoE centric, yes that is a big deal when footstomp or LR is only hitting 2 targets at a time. It takes away from their strengths, and a good team utilizes everyone's strengths to steamroll. I'm just trying to figure out how brutes and bots MMs can coexist in harmony.

Edit: And assuming of course that no one on the team has immobilize powers yet.

  19. And again, I didn't say ALL MM primaries are crap. I'm mainly pointing the finger at bots, because they do make EVERY F'ING minion fly 10 feet and cause them to run. That is no exaggeration there, it happens on every bot MM I ever played with. I don't so much mind the other MMs, because like you said, a few targets going out of my range is no big deal.
  20. Ok, let me clear up a few misconceptions before you guys ream me some more.

First off, please point out where I said herd in my first post? Brutes do not, and should not herd unless the situation desperately calls for it. The brute goes from mob to mob building up fury and tries to keep the mob somewhat together so we don't play hide n' seek with 10 different minions, and obviously so the AoE centric characters don't go to waste. Just trust me that I know how to play brutes. I've gotten compliments MANY times on my bruting skills.

The only time I can't seem to manage a team is when those bots MMs come in (and to a lesser extent the others that cause mobs to fly/run away). I've played a MM to level 10 (as much as I could stand of them), and without any fancy-smancy binds and macros the ONLY thing you can do is tell your PETS to attack, not attack, or defend (which is basically attack). I can't specifically tell my pets to not use attacks that knockback or anything, they just do whatever they want. I fail to see how it could possibly be the PLAYER'S fault when all they can do is tell the pets to attack. Sure, I could tell the player to not have their pets attack, but then all they are is Mr. Buff, and then I'm just taking away their enjoyment of the game. Yes I do try communicating with the MMs on my team, and they all tell me that they can only tell their pets to attack, so please enlighten me on how they suck as players. And please don't say they should look up all those fancy binds and stuff, because a majority of the players don't read the forums or care enough to do it (and I don't blame them).
  21. Eh, I guess herd isn't the correct word to use, so sorry if I confused people. I just charge right into the middle of a mob and wait for them to all come within melee range and then start the AoEs.

And the problem is I have never seen a good MM. Honestly, how CAN they be good I guess is what I'm getting at? All they can do is attack or not attack, they have almost no control over what their pets do, and the pets like to knock the crap out of a mob and send them flying. The only good thing they do is heal and buff.
  22. I'm sorry, but you don't play redside very often. Since when do brutes NOT herd?

    -
Edit for clarity: Sorry, I realized later that herd is not the correct word to use and I was thinking more of "jump into a mob and grab all the aggro so they bunch together into melee range". Since most people aren't bothered to read past the first page, I figured I'd add this edit in here.
    -

They want the attention to keep fury up, and especially for a SS brute they want as many enemies as possible to get hit with footstomp. When the MM ruins that, it's just me running around with almost no fury tracking down enemies one or two at a time. Am I totally missing something here?
  23. So I'm supposed to just deal with missions taking 20 minutes longer than usual? Ok then.
  24. Yeah, not too sure where to post this, but it's going here.

Me as brute: *gathers up nice hoard of enemies (EDIT: NOT HERDING, MAKING SURE THE MOB IS ALL WITHIN MELEE RANGE FOR EVERYONE TO USE THEIR AoEs!) for a big footstomp*

    Mastermind: "Attack, my minions!"

Mob: *goes flying 5 million feet in every direction possible*

    Me as brute: ">"

Every single time I team with a MM this scenario happens and I just don't feel like playing anymore. Seriously, I can probably down a bunch of insps and solo 3 more mobs in the time it takes them to track down all the enemies they scattered. Bots MMs are especially bad at this, and 90% of the MMs have to be bots for some reason. And then because they aren't paying attention to who their minions are attacking, they end up aggroing another group. Does anyone else feel my mastermind pain?
