((I've been confused about where the task force was heading for some time. That's why I dropped Darkvapor on Schwarez))

There was a howling sound.

And then the air around Energon X began to crystalize .

The aparrent source of this was the little man in the white and blue battle armor a few meters away.

"Ach, you annoying liiitle heroes!"

Darkvapor raised a hand.

"I sense something. Keep your wits about you..."

With that he continued to be led by Power Breaker from their ferry.

"I'll go with you." Darkvapor said, stepping forward to follow Power Breaker. "I'm good with this kind of thing."

For the first time today Darkvapor smiled.

It was kind of creepy.

Getting over that however he made sure to keep his eyes peeled for Poe. No doubt the Husk Lord was already plotting some devious little trap.

*rez*
Okay.. I could live with being killed by a trout, but by a guy named Darkspazz?

*Grabs a minigun*

*Makes swiss cheese out of darkspazz*

*walks over to the remote control for Duhullan that Diov left behind*

*Sicks Duhullan after the infinite monkeys and Bucky Kats*

Now then, I think i need to find a quiet corner to go and beat the crap out of something in.

Meanwhile, a familiar figure had just exited a manhole about a block away from Energon X's position.

"Ach, this is going to stain my best laboratory coat!"

*rezes*
*walks up behind bladeheart*
How does it go again? oh yeah, insert blade into heart.
*Stabs bladeheart in the heart with a knife*

((Just checking, but other than Briggs who else are we waiting on ?))

Darkvapor raised an eyebrow to Schwarez's comment.

"In case you haven't noticed, the Clockwork in this area have become rather...agressive as of late. I get the feeling you have something to do with it, or if not, know who is behind it."

Darkvapor noticed that the General had a large concentration of dark energy.

The dark lord also noticed the Schwarez had been wise enough not to order his men to kill Darkvapor, which could be taken many diffrent ways:
a) He had seen Darkvapor coming
b) He didn't see Darkvapor as a threat.
c) He was expecting something to come out of the shadows
d) He saw himself as being capable of dealing with Darkvapor should things come to a fight.

That said, Darkvapor decided to choose his next words carefully, in the event Schwarez was indeed prepared to deal with Darkvapor.

*rezes*

*looks up*

Oh hell no!

*is squished when Entropy falls on him*

*rezes*

*When Chaotic isn't looking smashes him on the head with a Halo 3 box.*

*Eyes widen as he remembers the antimatter inside the box*

*Thanks to another massive explosion Earth somehow returns to normal orbit around the sun. Even better, all the Halo 3 seeking gaming zombies have been vanquished as a result*

Suddenly Schwarez sensed dark energy. Lots of it.

It was all around him. It didn't seem to be centered in any one place. Maybe it was something to do with the base, but his instincts told him otherwise.

Suddenly a cloud of darkness appeared on his right, just inside his peripheral vision.

From out of the cloud emerged the dark visage of Darkvapor.

*cuts the power to the aracde, killing the two fighters*

*Then goes over to play on Xbox 360*

Klaus started to speak.

And then stopped.

The heroes had already run off.

"Lousy cape wearing morons. Oh well, I better keep going if I plan on making it to the Concil base before those annoying little robots do."

With that he bent down, grabbed his bag, and then set off at a race pace for the Concil base to the West.

He stopped at a sewer grate a few blocks away and after a few moments of struggle he was able to open the grating and enter the sewers.

Darkvapor's eyes widened.

This new guy was good.

After listening on the team channel for several moments he finally replied, "Go on without me. Something tells me these newcomers are somehow related to today's events. I will stay on the comm channel if you need me."

He also sent a very difrent message on his own comm channel. "Set up to cover both sides of the street, I'm going in."

"As you command my lord."

((I'm curious if anyone would even think of joining Poe other than the Husk Corp. guys.))

Klaus took a deep breath.

Take it easy, this guy's a moron...

"Well zat is a very long and complicated story...suffice to say, Anti-Matter is highly explosive.

"My name," Klaus gave a dramatic bow, "iz Doctor Klaus Gubbleheimer, but you may call me, Doctor Frostbite."

Really Klaus was no threat. His cryogenic battlesuit lay inside his duffel bag and no matter what items he might carry in his coat the heroes and villains would have him at a serious disadvantage.

"As for ze bodily harm, please forgive me, but I have a group of reprogrammed and highly destructive Clockwork chasing me, so I would appreciate it if I could find those stupid Council goons. I'm sure it's that terrible Archon whatever his name is' doing!"

Suddenly there was an enormous explosion.

An entire city block had suddenly been leveled.

Dust and debris blew away from the area almost immediately. A long plume of smoke visible for miles rose out of what had once been Klaus' base.

"I love the smell of anti-matter in the morning."

Klaus emerged from the sewer.

"Uh oh." he said as he stood in front of a rather dangerous looking group of heroes and villains.

He looked back at the smoking ruins of his base.

"Uhhh...hi."

What? I just flipped the kill back on you!

*rez*

*Sneaks up behind Entropy Aegis*

*Pulls ACME Entropy Aegis Eating Wolfhound in a Can from out of his pocket and opens the lid.*

Go get em boy

*Covers eyes as the dog rips Entropy apart then uses the rest of him as a chew toy*

Good boy.

"Sounds good." Darkvapor commented.

"I've dealt with the Husk Corporation before. The only thing that interests them seems to be money...and destruction...and apparently for Poe, petty revenge."

"Wait a second..." Darkvapor raised a hand to silence Martin. Seeing as he had just become leader this might have sounded like insubordination, but Darkvapor had his reasons.

His eyes flickered.

They suddenly glowed with a passionate intensity that no one had ever seen before.

"It's a trap." he said slowly.

He looked at the team around him.

"Can't you see it? The Clockwork, the strange energy, it's all connected. I think the Council base is nothing more than a-"

He stopped suddenly.

Eyes flickered again.

"Someone just opened some sort of portal." His grave tone was far more harsh than when he'd been speaking moments earlier.

"I can investigate the portal, you guys should probably carry on. If the city rep is alive she won't be for long...something tells me the Council has something in store for us."

Dark energy suddenly surrounded him like a fog.

His hands glowed and then he was gone.

He reappeared atop a building a block away from General Schwarez.

Remaining phase shifted Darkvapor watched the army of Clockwork surround the new arrival.

"And so another player enters the game..."

It was about then that Klaus heard a loud boom upstairs.

"Doctor, they have broken through the Boiler room door. They will reach us in...ETA 2 minutes and counting."

"I'm....working on something...."

"Scan complete," a second computer voice responded, "analyzing data."

"Forget it, send the data to my PDA. Computer, activate self destruct now."

"Yes sir."

Klaus ran over to the corner of the room and rumaged through a few containers before finding what he sought. Laughing triumphantly he grabbed the bag by the handle and set off at a good pace for the emergency exit.

"Self destruct in...One minute and thirty seconds..."

"Sending data...."

"One minute and ten seconds..."

"Data sent...."

"Count me in." the lord of darkness said with a sinister smile.

The elevator doors had already opened. The dark lord gestured for Power Breaker to exit first, and then calmly walked out of the elevator.

"Anywhere in particular you plan on attacking first?"

Darkvapor squeezed past Power Breaker into the elevator.

"The name's Darkvapor. I've been meaning to talk to you. I understand you and Poe don't get along very well. Perhaps we can help each other..."

"That's a good corpse stealer." Darkvapor said dryly. "Now where is the Council keeping her and to what end?"

Klaus shrieked with laughter as he finished freezing the Clockwork in his lab.

"Add another vone to mein scoreboard herr computer!"

"Shouldn't you be prepping the base for self destruct?"

"Ahh yes of course. First, help me carry zis Clockworksicle....clockworksicle...hahaa!" he cried. The computer dispatched two skeletal robots to help carry the frozen Clockwork trooper.

"Put it down on my operating table." he directed, pointing a nitrogen covered glove at the table in question. "I'll be with teh patient in a moment."

"What about the other ones master?"

"What do you think....SMASH THEM!" he bellowed with the ferocity of a mother bear. "SMASH them to a THOUSAND tiny liiiittle pieces!!!!" He cackled with uncontrollable laughter as the computer followed his command. A giant hammer affixed to the remains of one of those remote controlled bomb defusing robots whirred and gave a few beeps before coming to rest a few feet away from the nearest Clockwork-sicle.

The hammer rose....

And fell, shattering the clockwork drone into little pieces.

Klaus meanwhile tossed his nitrogen cannon aside and got to work on his "patient". After bolting the Assembler Duke down to the table he activated the heating lamp hovering a few inches above. The lamp would thaw the bot while Klaus set to work on the base self destruct.

Darkvapor had just finished his second pitcher. Wiping the dripping amber liquid from around his mouth he rose from the barstool, slapping a hundred dollar bill on the bar. "Keep the change." He muttered as he slowly made his way through the club.

He found that the door to St. Martial had finally reppeared. "Hold the door," he called to Power Breaker from a few feet away."

*Shi looks at himself*
"I didn't explode"
*Chameleon's head suddenly explodes*

Let it be a lesson to you, to make sure you don't mix the good and the bad popcorn...

Darkvapor looked around the dance floor.

"I don't know how he got away..." he muttered, hands still covered in dark energy, "but when I find him..."

He looked around the room. "I need a drink." With that he headed for the nearby hero bar. He decided a good dose of alchahol would be sufficient enough to help ease him through the hatred he was feeling at the Husk Lord.

When he reached the bar he asked for a pitcher of beer. The waiter raised a quizzical eyebrow, but upon seeing the strange glow in DV's eyes he just shrugged and reached behind the bar for a pitcher and filled it with the amber substance.

"Keep 'em comin." Darkavpor called back, a smile cutting across his face like a knife.

Little did the bartender know, Darkvapor was actually serious about the request.

Darkvapor eyed Martin for a moment.

"He has a point..." the dark lord mused, slowly retracting from Karl and turning to face the others.

"I will stay here as long as I am needed. While I don't feel comfortable sharing my motives with you, I do think that unless we start acting as a...team" he said the word as if any mentioning of it would summon a team of hideous circus clowns, "this foe will succeed where none before him have."

"I will not fihgt you for the role of leadership, but seeing as how Vanguard organized this little...alliance, I feel they should take charge."

Yes... choose someone to lead you pathetic little party. It won't help any. Something tells me Vanguard knows more about this threat than they are letting on, which means by the end of this little adventure I may have yet another enemy...

Unless. Yes that one there. He's been bickering with the Sword Duo. Perhaps he knows something. I will have to seperate him from the others before we find the City Rep. Darkvapor made the appearance of looking around at the group. In the distance he could see Energon X rushing away.
