I was a little curious about another taunt aura...Icicles.
Does anyone know if it requires a to-hit check for the taunt portion of it or is it auto?
I find if my ice tank runs Icicles to gather a crowd (keeping CE off in order to lower the gather time) I don't always see damage above the mobs but they do seem to follow, but this could be line-of-sight aggro. By the time they are all around me, I have both Icicles and CE going and with the amount of mobs I usually gather, I don't really want to test out aggro loss with the rest of the team around -

Have you ever collected anything? (I am asking cause I honestly don't know)
For example, someone might collect comics. Now, not all comics in the series might be good (bad art, bad story) but it is part of the series and you don't want to break it up and have it piece meal.
Collectors collect things for the sake of the collection, not necessarily how they get it. It's a personal thing (it can also be an addictive thing as well). At least that is my take on it.
However, I still don't understand why people collect bobble-heads but to each their own
Btw - what's with all the caps? -
I agree that there are a lot of things that could be going on other than 'the right SQL' but to sit there and say it would take them 2 years....ummm, no I don't buy that (unless they are using paper and pen to individually mark off who has what). I think it is a ploy to point the finger elsewhere and defuse the heat.
They could also be doing this 'offline' to not affect normal operations (and yes, this also might not be possible as we don't have any information concerning their systems)
I think they have made a great game and that they put a lot into it (coding, etc) but, unfortunately, the devs on many responses in the forums have been 'questionable' at best.
It's a shame though for all of those that put all that time into something and have it vanish in a heartbeat -
Hey Pos,
Thanks for dropping a line...though as some have mentioned, a little info in Cuppa's hands would have saved her the grief. She is just the messenger and protects you guys from a lot...you are lucky to have her

The original Task Force Datamine took 3 months to finish. That was to go over 2 months worth of data.
We now have 18 months worth of data. We looked for a more effecient solution, but our estimates still come out at 2 years to datamine and get you your badges.

I find these kind of numbers hard to fathom unless you are using Microsoft Access as a database (and I am pretty sure you are not).
Seriously, working with db's as I do, make an archive of pre-I5, query against that and make your list (basically extract the result set to a view and then store it in another table). Then, post-I5, dump the temp set back into the main db (well, a back up to make sure). Re-query and compare the new db to the old to check for errors and voila. Now the process would change ever so slightly depending on said db, but the theory is the same regardless.
This will not necessarily be the easy route (well, the easy route is saying "sorry, can't do it") but would sure not take the time estimates that you are posting. If it would then you either have really bad hardware, processes, or db admins.
note: I am not a badge hunter and this does not affect me either way but it always bothers me when a reason is posted and people that normally don't work with said technology go "oh, that makes it ok". It doesn't...people are getting ripped off for their time and effort.
As my statistics prof used to say "stats can be made to say anything you want them to". -
Yeah...had a look. Other than Blasters and Defenders, everone else took in the...ahem...chin.
The only good thing that can come from this is that it does not leave test server and go live -
Hey Capt
For the laser beam eyes, they are an Epic power pool that everyone gets access to when they hit lvl 41 (laser eyes are actually a lvl 44 power since you need a pre-req). The link for all of them are here (scroll down for Tanker):
Epic Power Pools / Ancillary Power Pools
Another couple of good links is the Hero Planner:
Hero Planner
and the resistance calculator:
Boknams CoH Resist and Defense Calculator
Hopefully this helps -
If you are speaking in regards to the little green circle around the power (ie, CTRL+click the power), then you can't do this to more than one power
Usually when speaking of perma-powers, one you do this to and the other you just keep an eye out for and click when its ready. -
First off, this looks like a sweet build and thanks for sharing it
Modelling after it, I personally am taking AS at lvl 6 to get Flight at lvl 14 and have it 3 slotted by 15. I definitely see the appeal of 6 slotted hover but I just love the flight thing.
A couple of questions I am curious about...
Did you find having Taunt late in the build an issue on teams in the early lvls (15-30)? The reason I ask is that I am finding that Punch-voke to be unreliable...though this might be due to current lvl
I have noticed that I will have many attacks that I can cycle in a non-stop chain...will Hasten really be that necessay? I ask since I will be slotting slightly different (non-Hasten, non-Hover = 10 extra slots) and will have the necessary slots for perma-DP and perma-Rage (+2 slots each).
I understand this is a "superman concept" and I am not looking for a min/max...but I was curious.
thanks
