a couple of other tips to comsider...i usually find when im forming a team or adding to one...while im scanning the team lists and sending off tells i usually ask the team to speak to their contacts and fill up their lists with fresh missions...i like to really keep the flow going...
also if a person that has just joined the team says im going afk for a min doesnt do the afk outside...i watch them like a hawk and if they not back in about 5 mins i boot them...what im tending to notice is that the longer your teamed with a group the longer poeple will tolerate you going afk...if you have been in a TF or doing missions for hours together its cool if they go afk for ages...but if they just join and then say afk and are gone 5 mins they get booted...sorry i have had to deal with leaches before...they tend to join and enter a mish and go afk sometimes without saying anything. i find this really irritating, as we are busting our chops at the front line, often risking or suffering death and you get someone who thinks this is a PL session...BOOT!!
next i would say when it comes to a team with a little lvl spread ie 2-4 lvls, i usually find as long as the missions are just TOUGH not IMPOSSIBLE, i usually try to focus on the missions of the highest lvl folk...since they tend to provide the best xp...tho if a lower lvl mish person requests their mission to be done i always try to fit it in...
finally...dont be surprised if the first battle after team formation ends up being a slaughter...(as in YOU being slaughtered) because it takes a battle or two to get the tactics right...but if you notice its because the same person/people are doing something wrong...(ie a blaster pulling with a fireball into the middle of a mob dont laugh i saw it done) then at first try to educate...i find since im a long time altoholic i know all the archetypes and at least the basics in how to use them that sometimes a prod in the right directions can turn them back to the light...but if problems persist, there is a reason the star gives you the power to boot...nothing worse than a few team wipes to make people drop the team...
on a side note about team wipes...usually people WILL tolerate the occassional death, some classes more than others (blasters looking at you) but if the team wipes continue a sign people are not happy (sign?? more like brick over the head hint...) is the number of poeple saying ahh gotta go sg calling...(come on people just saying...im outa here the blaster keeps agroing mobs and im sick of dying...) so in closing unless the team leader IS the idiot who keeps causing the team wipes, send him/her a private tell asking if they can wrangle the debt machine back into line, or if it is the leader causing the problems a subtle suggestion in their ear may make them realise that the fireball pull, MAY not be the best pull technique...sometimes you will get an earfull of abuse and they quit/or boot you, either way your better off...but sometimes they say what you sure, and then you one step closer to a better team, and start molding a better player...
good luck guys remeber there are a lot of new players and they dont read the manuals/boards...so out in the field we can still educate... -
this my be off topic but how can you command invidual pets when they have names longer than 6 letters or have spaces in them like my ninja master mind called mr dumas, who has tow genin called "right hand of" (mr dumas) and "left hand of" (mr dumas) any clues...i noticed you said something about using something significant in there name or was that their title ie genin or lich (lord) or does it count with names so i could use right or left?
PS: thinking of name for 3 rd pet in 2 and a bit levels :P -
i still think the answer lies with the 5th mission/heist you do for the contact, if they made the bank robbery/casino heist etc paid a decent reward, like maybe a decent imfamy payout or a DO/SO selection option, i think people would be more focused on completing there missions to get to these special missions...i know its because the economy is depressed and in a few months it MAY be remedied as heros hit the 40 max, but im not so sure, for a start the removal of PL/herding abilities has severly cramped the ability of people to amass inf, so they are less likely to give it away instead financing their alts, and with a 40 max (ATM) there is not much time to get inf since if COH is anything to go by, you didnt earn more than you needed til 35+ so thats 5 lvls to earn infamy above and beyond what you actually need.
also since the devs have actively been trying the slow the game advance down, this process of many people getting to wealthy stage will take ages as the game is now focused on stopping people hitting the game cap...
so they need to look at ways of allowing us to either
a) transfer influence into imfamy, and make use of the the wads of cash sitting in heroes bank accounts...i mean what else can we use it for...traading for prestige at a pathetic exchange rate...DONT THINK SO...
b) make special bonus missions pay us out more, you say risk vs reward...i say risk vs poverty...
for those that spout the devs line about infamy/influence isnt money, well if its not money then how is it that ou can buy training with it...(enhancements) why shouldnt we who have spent so much time playing this game and making lvl 50 alts not gain some benefit from these chars being wealthy... -
i personally have never had to struggle to earn influence in COH because of heroes handing out inf/money inthe form of gifts/or costume comps etc so people never had to struggle...the devs always [censored] and moan and say woe is me influence isnt meant to be money, but guys get over it...IT IS and so is INFAMY...currently EVERYONE in the game is poor, we do missions like bank jobs/casino robberies and expect a huge INFAMY bonus, but we get the same INFAMY as any other mission...WHY IS THAT? why when i rob a bank i get the same infamy/money as i do stealthing a find the glowie mission...risk vs reward...dont make me laugh...allow us to transfer money from our COH chars...i mean teller machines for those with money to transfer it across...or increase the infamy rewards for people doing these so called special heist missions...so people are encourgaed to do them for extra money...get over the notion that imfamy/influence is not money because it is... get the economy fixed up...

I think the devs should really get back to doing what they should be doing....which is fix the problems in the game. PLing WAS a problem during and POST winterlord, but since then either most of the PLed noobs have left after finding that they couldnt play there new lvl 25 scrapper, or respeced/rebuilt there char from the ground up and learned to enjoy the game, and stayed to continue the journey. I know people that have left and thats great cause POST WL the amount of people that had NO idea how to play there new UBER char was truly scary. But lets not forget WHO created the WL PL fiasco, (the devs). it seems to me the knee jerk reaction against PLers comes from the outrage over post WL gameplay with deaths caused by players with no idea how to play their new chars. i find that as a player that has played almost every type/and combonation of toon I find myself wanting to skip some of the low lvl content and get to the higher lvl game.
I say this cause i currently have 4 lvl 30+ toons and the last thing i want to do is SLOG throught the lower lvl content AGAIN fopr the 50th time. So im the first to admit I use whatever means are available to speed up the process...
i agree whole heartedly with earlier posters that state once you have a higher lvl toon you should be able to skip ahead and start a toon at say half/two thirds of you max toon (ie if you have a lvl 30 main you skip to lvl 15-20 and start from there choosing powers like a respec...
if the devs want to fix a problem, its the people running around with bought accounts, (example the 2 poeple flying round with peacebringers asking questions like how do you create coloured text?) I mean seriously the guy had something like 50 million inf in the bank and asked me to PL him...FFS the guy had a lvl 20 keldian and had no idea how to use it, had no idea what debt was? Even tho he offered me 1 million inf a lvl i turned him down, and told him he really needed to play the game, because the stories are great and if you outlvl your contacts you will get no missions etc. I also told him that all the power under his control meant nothing, cause he had no idea how to use it.
SO if the devs want to stop something stop people buying accounts on ebay and such and FIX PLing not try to stomp it out casue as you squash one way of doing you ruin the play for others, i mean im thinking of deleting my PURE defender becasue the way every thing is getting assocaited to damage done my defender would never get any xp...and on a side not i should not have to risk drawing agro to get xp (note to last poster) IM a healer i have only the attack i HAD to have, i heal not fight. -

A full and complete overhaul of the Stone Armor looks, perhaps utilizing some of the myriad of wonderful suggestions they could have pulled off these forums in the last 6 months. The Issue 3 solution better be a bridge, they are better than the present but are still uglier than the beautiful graphics the devs seem to have time to put together for NPCs in every issue...

i alos would like to see the stone armour fixed especially the armour design i mean what is the point of making a cool looking char that once armoured up looked like a dinosaurs biobreak? the rock armour should maybe be like a statue version of the hero, maybe a little larger to give you the impression that it is armoured....imagine the emoted versions od stone armoured heros looking like statues all around atlas plaza. also solves that other problem of heroes wanting statues of themselves to put on display they can be the statue...
also its a small change but if the emotes for boombox, the dance type assocaited with boom could be optional, so you could choose the dance style to go with music...
underwater villians and underwater cities could be explanded content...imagine of the coast of IP it could tie in with the event of that tanke that sunk....ie atlantians....new mobs to attack the contact gives you some sort of new drug to enable breathing under water, maybe powers work diff underwater...
also wings or some sort of powerbased movement powers....
ie ice slide for ice based chars or options of wing types instead of capes, ie batwings, butterfly, bird like
possibly maybe a rock equivelent of ice slide...what do you think?
personal note please fix ice tankers so they have mezz def against PSI, work into wet ice etc, so IF they allow stackable armours in the future then we can survive...also unlisted damage ie acid spits protection...
