1. Having to travel 2 miles in Nerva can be a pain in the butt.

A ferry up there would rock! Nerva is like the equivalent of IP.

mucho thanks. am patching it now, it's going to be a very long update. <.<
3. dragged out my mac, playing COX on it for the first time since closed beta, and it won't work at ALL.

had to go out and buy the upgrade for snow leopard ($28) because somehow i missed the note that it won't work with Tiger.

I've updated everything, ran software updates, and everything's current. Obviously, I can use the internet, otherwise I wouldn't be posting this.

Before, when I still had Tiger, it said "unable to work with this version"

Now that I have snow leopard, the splash screen won't even LOAD. It's running, but nothing shows up...NOTHING. And then I have to do a force quit.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled what feels like 50,000 times. Downloaded from the main page, and from the "my account page" and IT STILL WON'T LOAD.

*is frustrated and would rather be watching the football game than trying to figure out why COX won't work on a mac*

*Sigh* I do not know WTF is going on with my team. If Chibi leaves then just throw me in the sub pool or something....

[/ QUOTE ]

the team is you (weatherwoman), me (chibi lime), and mad jaded.
5. question, what time is it at, and in what time zone, to eliminate confusion?
6. [ QUOTE ]
Sorry for any confusion and drama was not intended.

they could tell you I've never been one to start crap except among my own teammates.

So Boxx, Weather, Chibi, you all have my apologies

[/ QUOTE ]

it's all good, got it worked out in tells. but you do know that i'm your teammate? (SG-wise?) :-p (i keed i keed)
7. [ QUOTE ]
You are on a Team someone had misunderstanding and then started on personal attacks.. All resolved for today at least

[/ QUOTE ]

as far as i know, i'm still on a team, unless i've been removed from one by whoever the heck is in charge or by my own teammates. i don't know why personal attacks had to be thrown around.

i rarely read the forums, and wouldn't have known about this latest drama if people hadn't told me about what was going on, both in tells and in pinnbadges.

as for my use of the forums, the only way I find out about stuff is through tells/pinnbadges, which is how I got into the PVP event and the meet-and-greet recently.
8. [ QUOTE ]
Umm, not to rain on Team 1's parade...

Chibi is in my SG and we were farming for Illusion Decoys last night. She seemed surprised when I asked her what she was bringing for the League:

"I'm not in the League, I just threw that out there for fun on the forums."

Moldy and Weather might want to throw a global tell to her about it or find a filler if you guys can.

[/ QUOTE ]

okay, i think this is one huge misunderstanding and now it's snowballed into some not-very-nice-things being said.

When we had that conversation last night, when you asked me about the Justice League, because you said you were in it, and that you were getting the badges for the SG.

I didn't realize that this whole tournament was the Justice League as apparently that's what it's called now?

And when I said I threw out the team idea for fun, was because people were complaining about their teams falling apart or not having anybody to play with so I was like "I'm forming a team, first two who respond get to join." and that was it.

But I really don't appreciate the whole [ QUOTE ]
she's more of a 'this sounds fun right now' and then forget about it when it comes up kinda person.

[/ QUOTE ] thing. I guess if that's how you guys feel about me, then you don't know me well enough, so why bother.

11. new team formed

@chibi lime
@weatherwoman
@heat spectre

with @mr. sword as our alternate.

no team name yet.
12. being deaf, and not being able to keep up with conversations in real life, with hearing people, sometimes I feel like i can't truly be myself or get a chance to show that I can be funny and witty.

and that's why I love being on pinnacle, in the SGs I am on, and in the chat channels. I can keep up with the conversations, and i can think of something and say it, allowing me to be funny/obnoxious. There's nothing that's worse than coming up with a clever comeback, when it was so 30 seconds ago and everybody looks at you like "what?".

I love the support that pinnbadges has given, along with my SG and my friends in this game.

This game was awesome when I was going through all the drama in my life last summer, and you guys kept me sane. that was the one thing I looked forward to...coming home and escaping from the real world, and just getting to be myself.

And to think that I never wanted to play this game in the first place if it hadn't been for he-who-shall-not-be-named! And now look where I am at, 2 50s and still going!
13. oh i might as well as sign up since i keep getting pestered.

*clings to Neuronia*

I say we should have a Lethal Ladies team!

15. WOOHOO!

i'm in there three times!

thanks so much! :-)

I am glad to see that a couple of people that are hearing impaired (or related to someone who plays) have made a couple posts here.

[/ QUOTE ]

Several people have.

I was born deaf in both ears.

I know of one player in game, who did not sign the petition but is also deaf.

Feihung - for when his left ear gives out completely

Memphis_Bill - deaf in one ear

FriendlyHelper - tone deaf

Citizen_Razor - completely deaf

Void_Huntress - mildly autistic, plus has a sister who's hearing impaired.

Boxxy - has hearing issues off and on

Does that help for the # of people that have hearing loss or hearing issues that are in-game? I suspect that there are more who haven't come forward.

[ QUOTE ]
What I did not see in those posts was an idea or starting point for some form of solution. If any voice holds more weight here- it is yours.Give the people who make this game some ideas on what would work best from your point of view.

[/ QUOTE ]

There's also a ton of suggestions that have been thrown out.

Lachlin - player is in "sound" range of the glowie, an icon appears on the map

Me - have an icon appear in the health bar window like the proximity icons used for day job locations

AkuTenshiiZero - a small window with a sort of pseudo-radar, which pulses with increasing intensity the closer you get

Jack_NoMind - I think a UI element with an increasing/decreasing glow would be good; it's less distracting (and less easy to immediately 'read') than a pulsing light, and so serves the same function as the increasing/decreasing volume.

CorolinaR - Remember last years April Fools joke? Replacing sound with comic sound effects? Put that in the game as a 'Hearing Impaired' option. The glowie detector could operate when that mode is in effect, but not when it isn't.

Neuronia - making glowies brighter somehow might help...

NewJerseyDevil - possibly it would be some sort of buff aura coming off the glowie to show up in the buff tray, and could stack and show multiple symbols as you get closer to it

FriendlyHelper - I enable the Doppler effects to help me find the glowies. Years ago, the glowie sounder was changed and I couldn't hear them for weeks.

DarkSideLeague - I had an Idea of an inherent power that would allow you to see through walls (the outline of the glowies would appear).

CatAtomic - I think a little mark in the navigation compass would do the trick nicely, kind of like the "how to get out of here" beacon when leading a hostage to the entrance.

DakotaSunrise - Maybe a sonar-like "blip" in the Navigation window or as a status icon?

Arcanaville - use a console graphic to visually notify when you are within a certain range of an audible blinkie to support people with limited hearing is an excellent idea. There are, of course, minor quibbles over the details (blinking, size-variable, absolute range, etc) but the principle is sound game design.

Feihung - How about the cursor changing when near enough to "hear" it. Make it change it glow or pulse a little.

Hertz - They could just make the glowies shout "Woo woo woo!" every few minutes.

Or they could make the character say "It's got to be around here somewhere!" to himself (in the same way he says, "I'm getting too far away from my mentor!"). And when he gets out of range of the glowie, he can say, "I'd better keep looking."

ClawsAndEffect - I kinda like Hertz's idea about having the character think something to themselves when near it, and think something else when they start getting farther away. It would serve the same purpose as the other ideas and probably be easier to implement so they could possibly do it between issues.

Also would be open to customiziation so you could have you character think "It's got to be around here somewhere" or (like what I'm usually saying IRL) "Where the hell is the &#%!*& thing?!?"

Rachelthulu - How about making glowies act as friendlies with a series of point blank area of effect buffs that ignore line of effect, each with a progressively smaller radius?

Have the buffs do nothing, but they stack with each other. So as you get closer and closer to the center more icons appear as 'effecting' you.

Boxxy - I for one would love to have something on the map pop up or some notification that there is a glowie/blinky/object near by.

And for Color Blindness

GabrielTemplar - How about a texture change for patrol XP as well, if you're blue/green or blue/red colorblind it is virtually impossible to tell the difference between debt, patrol XP and normal XP.

Apparently this was brought up to the Devs in i13.

19. i feel so blessed to have such a wonderful community of people who are in support of this idea!

i'm also grateful to lachlin for posting it here, after listening to me gripe about it. thank you so much!
20. thanks lach, for posting this.

one thing that would be great for COH is if was accesible to people, both with hearing losses and people who are having to play without sound.

Microsoft and Apple both have screen blinks when an error message happens, in order to alert the user to the fact that there's a message.

City of Heroes does not have anything within the game that makes it accessible to different populations.

I was talking with a different player, who mentioned that one of their friends developed a program for them, like a sound meter, to let them know when they were getting close to the glowie...it was a version of getting hot, or getting cold.

I hate getting mad when I can't finish the mish because I'm scouring every inch of the map to find this glowie, only to ask people around me if they can hear it, and tell me to get closer to it.

While I do have hearing, it's a bit hard to tell the difference between the music and the glowies.

Please consider this for i15. Thanks!
