  1. Hello folks,

    Thanks to the help of this great community I think I have one of every archetype to 50 including another scrapper. I decided to try my hand at the above combo and am now level 35 with a build I am happy with. I am soloing on +1/x6 right now and my defense is hovering around ~36ish or so for all positions and resistance around ~26ish or so.

    Before 50 of course I will be softcapped with recharge bringing my 2 big hitters up every 29 seconds.

    This sounds like a brag thread but I am seeking info......so far life has been amusingly good once I started IO'ing around lvl 32. Nothing seems to be be able to bring me down......but I know there are factions out there. What ones are best to avoid when running tips and radios on my way to 50? Which ones eat up this build for breakfast? I am guessing maybe devouring earth but haven't had the pleasure yet. My play time is limited so I am trying to go through as fast as possible. I haven't gone whole hog with the incarnate stuff yet as I just haven't felt it with any of my alts. But this guy may be the one, so hence the rush.

    Any tips would be appreciated

  2. Pyro-Tech Mage: Robots/Thermal

    Basically a White Wolf rip off. Even named all the bots as various HIT Marks. I like keeping it old school! Haven't decided yet on the "golem construction" whether I build them and summon them through extradimensional space when I need them or if they are magically constructed from nothing, and they just "manifest" This is my bio in game:

    Mundane background: PhD in mechanical engineering and a Masters in thermal engineering. Magickal spheres of influence: Golem construction and Manifestation, Thermal radiation control. I was a smart kid, which was good because I was a fat kid as well, and back in the 80's that didn't fly with the ladies. Sensitivity and humour can work now but then it was money,power,looks or all three. So I studied......ALOT. PhD at 24 and 2nd masters at 30. Then I got the job at Lambda and it was smooth money from there. Life had more for me though. At 39 I had my Awakening. Boy did my world turn upside down. All those "laws" that bound me before are gone. The math, it appears in my minds eye but I can change the formulas as if on a blackboard, and the laws of reality change with it.The highest technology to me is just pure ether to transform. Needless to say I was considered a risk and detained.That's when the resistance found me. Now my story begins.
  3. Excellent!! That fills me with confidence going forward. I like things neat and organized as I level. Lol I wonder if all gamers are ocd-ish or just me?

    Is maneuvers needed if I drop the fighting pool anyway? or is it needed even more? Is that where you would put the two pet uniques? I also changed to chill mastery. Not sure if that was the right move or not?

  5. Oh ok I have the def one In assault bot. I mashed the build together last night and just rolled him this morning so only level 10. Lol are you going to suggest a re roll?

    Not alot of info out there on this combo and maybe that is for good reason. Is it a poor choice? I took it for concept reasons....Anyway have a look at my build. My build abilities are weak so basically what you see is a collection of various separate posts glommed together into this build. The recharge looks good....I am not sure what defense to shoot for after the bots put up their shields. Also, being new to Masterminds I saw alot of builds with provoke....so I added that as well....I am guessing to take the heat of the pets?.....Sorry for all the ignorant questions.....by ignorant i do not mean rude...I simply mean stupid

    I apologize for sorta hijacking your thread but I have leveled my melee Fort to 35 and am absolutely in love with it. Thank you for your build in this thread. I am hoping to ask a question.....I cannot afford Hami's or Purples(except coercive) Is what I did with your build ok....or is there more you would have done in my situation?

  11. Well I took the advice on this thread and tweaked my build a bit based on that advice. I have not respecced yet as I wanted to submit it again for review. I abandoned my original concept and went another direction so got rid of some baggage. (just takes imagination sometimes) So now I find myself with extra slots. I am not sure how much gravitational anchor is but what are the thoughts of it in crushing field for the extra recharge. I still won't change the APP's but other than that what can be tweaked.

  13. Do basically I just continue as a damage helper and spam tornado, lightning storm and my attack chain when fighting AV's? I still drop freezing rain but I guess it is not doing much
  14. Even lightning storm works well on the prisoners. Just when they think they escaped my patch of ice....BAM shot right back in. the hold proc is fun too.

    As an aside, just got my judgement slotted.....what fun! I know it's old hat but it's new to me!!!

    I started my first contoller a loooong time ago,a Grav/Storm. Got him to 50 with the help of the likes of Unicycle and Local Man, and others.

    Things have changed since then and I would like to post a build for the experts. I have never been floating in money so if changes HAVE to be made please keep that in mind.   19. Just got home and checked this thread. You may have saved me some headaches....I will go over the build and try it out. I thank you (again) for the help. The controller forum helped me get my first 50, here's to the scrapper community doing the same I hope! (Well I have a 50 MA/SR but he still has SO's)

  22. Thank you both for your input. I am glad to hear it is some part due to my laziness/lack of skill with DA as that I can work on. A little more sad on the slotting parts. Werner, it was mostly positional defense but not soft capped and more melee heavy.

    As a casual player with kids money is a bit tight.I do have a well slotted 50 controller. I suppose it's time to shelve the poor scrapper again and go make some money for him.

    Are the powers and the slotting ok then? do I just need to change the suggested sets?

  23. Hello there, I received some wonderful help from Des many months ago on my build but things have changed alot since then. I just seem to have a hard time making builds. I took my current scrapper out (lvl 36) based on the build below and he got eaten alive. (the mission was +2/x2 and the enemies were arachnos) Is this build that bad or is it the setting or the enemies or some or all. I guess I am asking for a tweak on the build. Please please I really want soul transfer for concept reasons.......I know it is frowned upon by some. Any help would be great.
