I'm for keeping Auto-Turret, as I mainly use it to curb an AV's regen rate, but I really want the ability to TP back, as AVs have a habit of moving.

The Ghz rating means less and less these days. My AMD Athlon 64 runs at 2.4 Ghz, but is faster than an Intel Pentium IV at 3.4Ghz

Which bits have gone wrong? I have a spare Motherboard+CPU back home (AMD 2800+, 2.2Ghz) so long as Mum hasn't thrown them out.

Only graphics card I have spare though is a GeForceFX5200 if that's the problem.

I have to stress, I didn't leave The Militia because of The Militia, I had some OOC disputes behind the scenes with other RPers, which has unfortunately left me with a sour taste for CoH roleplay for the near future.

Generally, I've played my characters around my powers, rather than the other way round. I'm the type of person who thinks there's a time and place for me to roleplay in.

The rest of the time, I am playing the game (well, mostly playing the game at the moment after some OOC fall-outs) and as such, I want to be able to survive that, rather than pick a concept-power that's fairly useless to my playstyle.

Quick Example: My main character didn't actually have super-powers, concept-wise, he should have had Sprint and that's all. Instead, I chose a Travel Power, and fudged that he was just a fast runner.

EDIT: Of course, I won't pick powers that are obviosuly too far-out for a concept, such as a Katana/Invuln secret agent, who in-concept, is supposed to shoot things.

I'd say a hold-length equal to Controllers would be a possibility, as a longer-held Hero is never a bad thing.

Possibly, as Positron mentioned specificly about the RSF, perhaps attacks against Heroes will increase Domination by a larger amount than usual?

Personally, I'm going to wait for the chance of Xanthus running a raid once his controller reaches the right level. I can deal with lag/spam-heal/general morons, but from what I can read of the plan, having everyone leave the zone once they have a hit on Hami does not seem like a good plan.

Just my opinion, feel free to prove me wrong on the day, I just have more personal confidence in a different method of doing things.

As many people have noticed, I've had a number of avatars that are more than just simple images, or a mixture of images in a loop.

I've been asked by a number of people for a guide to how to make these avatars, and as such, here it is:

1.) Find an .avi file that features what you want in your avatar.

2.) Download Advanced AVI Splitter. It's a free-trial version, but its only limitation is that you can only create a maximum 'split' of 60 seconds, which is far too much for this activity.

3.) Using this program, find a section of film you wish to use, and make sure it's no more than 5-6 seconds long, otherwise the resulting image will be over Board Guidelines.

4.) Download Amazing Photo Editor. This is another trial version, and features full functionality, but only for 30 start-ups. So before the license runs out, you can make a minimum of 30 avatars, or more if you do multiple ones per session.

5.) Using APE, click on the 'Convert' option along the toolbar, and in the next window, follow the three steps to select your AVI segment, and to convert it to GIF. (Remember to save it as well after conversion)

6.) Your GIF will originally save in a file-size to accomodate the original aspect ratios of the AVI, and be in the region of 10MB big, which is a bad thing.

7.) Use an image-editing piece of software, I recommend GIMP. Open up the GIF file in the software, and use an option such as 'Image Scaling' to shrink the GIF file to approximately 80x80 pixels, and save the file. (Normally, this function will keep the aspect ratio of the file, and may end up as 80x60 etc.)

8.) Use an image-hosting site such as Photobucket to upload the image. YOUR GIF SHOULD BE NO LARGER THAN 100-150 KB, otherwise you may find it magically removed by Bridger.

9.) Link to the hosted GIF file from the 'My Home' section of your CoH/V forum, and you now have a new, shiny and amazing animated avatar.

From what I've gathered on what's been posted on these boards, the Holds etc. for Controllers are registered at Mag 3, whilst Dominator's are only a Mag 2.

If this is the case, why is it so? I realise Dominators have direct-attacks as a Secondary, but these to me pale in significance if you are personally unable to contain aggro properly whilst you are using them.

Both Controllers and Dominators have 'control' primaries, so why the reduction in the Dominator's one effectiveness? I personally can't see a boost to Mag 3 being game-breaking, although others may find a way to point out it could be.

Simply put, would an upgrade from Mag 2 to Mag 3 be plausible and wanted?

I know you'd said before a bad day whn someone leaves. Of course, as of next Saturday I can actually meet you in person once I have things sorted out.

Still, your characters provided a high source of amusement and good roleplay, even if it seemed at times they weren't appreciated enough.

In CoH/V I always save the roleplaying, well saved the roleplaying for specific times and places, or if agreed before starting a team that it would all be in-character.

As much as I love roleplaying, I feel there's a time and place for it for me, and the other times, all I want to do is get on with playing the game and seeing all the content.
