  1. Actually it's odd, I agree with the DEF suppression but not the invisibility suppression.

Let's try and use an example like Liquid did. Ok, stealth can me walking quietly, using shadows etc. Ok sure, you attack your cover is blown. That's ok.

Buuuuut.......we're talking about different levels of stealth and true invisibility. We have people in flying suits, people who can cast bolts of energy, etc. So let's say I'm a Controller with Superior Invisibility and I'm of Magic origin. You're telling me that my Cloak of Inviso that the spirt of the Invisiblity God NoCanSeeMe suddenly stops working when I attack? Or that when I attack my Cloaking Device X549A that I requisitioned from Army Base Bravo suddenly goes dead? If you're invisible, you're invisible. Now they can sort of guess and that's where the DEF buff should still exist but be reduced. But that's stupid that suddenly someone down the hall can suddenly see me despite the fact I never dropped invisibility.

So yes to the DEF suppression (not all suppressed but partial suppresion) but NO to the stealth component suppression. Actually a small % chance for it to fail is ok. Things can go wrong so I wouldn't mind say, a 5% chance when you attack for the stealth component to drop.

    Defense nerf

The only issue I still have is one that I will probably just have to let go. The way it's setup now, most typed defense other than Smash/Lethal has been further trivialized. Due to the fact that Smash/Lethal defense is almost unilaterally higher than it's counterparts, for the majority of attacks in the game you need nothing else. It makes situational powers even more situational. Not that it's a bad thing, in the end it means you can pretty much get away with slotting only armor instead of 3 or 4.

As I said, not really a big deal but something I find odd. Usually the devs do not make changes which further trivialize powers.

    Defense nerf

While his post was inflammatory he does have a point albeit oddly one that favors Ice, not hurts it.

With the over-abundances of mixed damage, specifically Smash/Lethal mixed with whatever, this does somewhat mitigate the needs for defense other than against Smash/Lethal. Now, I'm not saying the other defences are worthless, far from it. But it does mean one can go a very long ways on nothing but Smash/Lethal defense. Doesn't bother, means less powers one needs to take and slot. And for Ice is moot, we have to run Wet Ice anyhow for mez protection.

Anyhow, just saying there is a valid point. Specifically because almost all Smash/Lethal DR/DEF is higher in value than any other type of DR/DEF, against a mixed type, why using anything else? Against Nemesis why should I use anything other than Deflection Shield? Oh well, just a thought.
  4. I must say I never do this type of post, but you've earned it.

Well done Statesman. This seems like a well thought out and rational comprimise. Simply excellent.
  5. You're joking right? Enhancements drop on Yellow Con or higher? I hope that "sometimes white" means only slighltly less chance than yellow.
  6. End of Beta was a carnage fest. Waves upon waves of Rikti flooded the areas. They were tied to zone level, so fear not. unfortunately many of the Rikti were bugged and conned as friendly so fighting them was not so fun. Also, the Rikti unveiled their most diabolical weapon ever, the Mass Lag Device. These evil weapon could lag you out so badly that the two salvos hit you before you even saw them aggro on you.

It was lots of fun since it was end of beta and I didn't care if I died. I went to Founder's Fall and tried my darndest to help, but a level 20 NRG/NRG Blaster can't do much against lvl 40 Rikit :P However, with the guarenteed death due to lag and the fact it sticks with ya, I think I'll pass and stay safely hidden in my home until it passes...
  7. Just a quick note on the Defeat X badges. The majority of them work on Bosses, not a type of Boss. For example, UnderBosses work as well as Consiglieres. Ogres work as well as Calibans. Rectors work as well as Pariahs. Basically if the badge says "Leaders", that means Bosses. It's only if it says something specific, like Sorcerors or Mages (which mean any mages, period, even lts) then bosses may or may not count.

As a side note, are the plaques you can read around the city supposed to give History Badges? If so, I've read about 4 plaques and not gotten anything. Maybe it goes on number of plaques and 5 is the first?
  8. Always confused me, PST = Please Send Tell, for the longest time I thought it was Pacific Standard Timezone
