  1. I've done Pos in less than 3 hrs and have had it take nearly 10.

After taking 15+ chars through it all I have to say is: With the new missions/mission xp, if it wasn't for the badge I would never, ever do this TF again.

The SO was nice the first time, but it this point I don't need it.

The TF is just flat-out too many missions. 3 hrs should be an average time not greased lightning speed.

Except for a unique tileset on the final mission you'll see untold times again in later story arcs, there is nothing unique, such as an AV.

I think they should turn the whole Vahz/CoT/Clock story into a story arc and make the Pos TF a Skulls/Hellions deal where you get to see both a Skull and Hellion AV at the end.

I did a work up of tanker Burn damage in the previous Brawl Index thead, which you can see here. I got a value of approx 0.3333/tick with about 40 total ticks coming over the 10 second duration.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Which would agree w/ my assumption that Burn is the most damaging AoE* that's not a 9th tier power.

*Overall since it takes longer than any other AoE to deliver complete damage as well.
  3. This is the best I could do w/ Burn from Fiery Aura, not Fire Manipulation.

This power is hard to test since the damage *does not* show up in Chat so you can only get whole numbers. (Luckily my Fire tank regenerates health faster than even a whole crew of even cons can damage me.)

I tested the total damage by Burning a full-health lieut (Burn kills minions too fast) who had just had a tick of health regenerate (So health regeneration wouldn't skew the results) and just subtracting.

Also my Burn is six-slotted w/ green SO's. I dumped the money off of him earlier and have no banked respecs so I couldn't replace them.

    Brawl - 10.46 smashing

    Burn - 350.0 Fire damage

At best guess it is 33-35 ticks. They tend to overlap which makes testing even harder.

Again, I couldn't get decimals only whole numbers.
  4. Flares, Combustion, Fire Sword .... doesn't matter, they all suck. I usually recommend Flares since it's ranged and cheap. Combustion often equals a quick melee death and Fire Sword does meh damage for the end cost.

No Fire Sword's damage never, ever becomes spectacular. It's a holdover from the Blaster melee lines of yore that should have been eleminated along w/ Energy Punch, Charged Brawl. Just like a Fire/Fire tank your other attacks are just to awesome and enhancement slots too rare to be worrying about Fire Sword or Combustion.

I would take Build-Up at 16, Hurdle at 10, and RoF later. Perma-Hasten and Build-Up w/ 3 slots = Build-Up every 24 seconds starting a lvl 22. 10 seconds of Build-Up, 14 seconds of downtime. Starting every battle doing 100% more damage is better than the occasional crowd control issues IMO.

Also you would hit a better damage output putting 6 damage in all your attacks and rotating Build-Up/Aim so one or the other is always running. W/ Build-Up + Aim + 5 damage SO's your wasting 20% of Aim's potential damage increase for one thing since Blaster damage is capped at 400% and your wasting Build-Up's ACC increase against anything but bosses.

And take Burn as soon as it's available. It's the best self-mez protection Blasters can get.

    Statesman :
    5. The Archetype description in character creation should be changed to say that they are the third best melee damage type in the game.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Just out of curiousity, if Scrappers are #1 in melee damage archetypes, and Tankers are #3....

....and Blasters and Controllers and Defenders are range oriented then it begs the question....

Who exactly is the #2melee archetype???

    [/ QUOTE ]

Wondering this myself. Probably a typo.
  6. So the primary purpose of Burn was for status protection huh?

Think we should go over to the Test Forum and gloat?

Exactly, why should anyone spend time in the much more interesting yet difficult zone when they can stand in one friggin place in a safe city zone and get XP faster. I love when people complain about the game being boring. Go take a group of 4 or 5 into faultline and hunt down by the broken damn. the game gets really interesting, really quick.

i love going to these "crap zones". No competition for mobs, all the free time in the world to jump around and figure out where good spots are, or if I'm in the mood, start in one corner and pull a clean sweep across the zone.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The only hazard zone where I've ever had to compete for mobs is in PP and even then it's usually just two groups competing.

My Fire Tanker sat on the lvl 18-19 Lost circuit from lvls 16 to 20 in one day at peak times. Never saw another player.

    7. In an indoor mission, never get ahead of the tank.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Oh, if I could have that written on the back of my tanker's shirt I would.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Or too far ahead of the Defender.

As for the Buff Bot issue, just make it like Grant Invisibility: a group-member only buff.

As for a power beeing "too good" and making defender useless... Mmm, out of all the defenders ability, only 2 can be compaired (clear mind and ID), and 2 ressemble (AM and O2) so it's not like it replaces what defender already do.

Power pools are already very strong. Hasten? Stamina?
You don't see tankers complaining about Thought and Weave.

    [/ QUOTE ]

What about Dispersion Field? The only *group toggle* that *prevents* status effects in the game. Except for sleep which Stimulant easily makes up for for a bubbler.

And if your toggles do go down, who gives a d*mn since you still have your bubbler's shields on.

My bubbler did a little dance of happiness when the Stimulant change was announced.
  10. Half the enemies means half the rewards Enhancement-wise as well. Not a problem for us powergamers as you say but could be for the casual player, until 38 when even then influence shouldn't be a problem for anyone.

lol i was taking his guide seriously untill he said "you only get 4 power pool powers" . . then why do i have 6? I have Teleport friend, foe, self, hover, hurlde, health. . . where do people get this number 4?!?! you can have as many power pools as u want. . . if you dont want your primarys , then dont take them ,but telling people u only get 4 pools is wrong. . guide not worth reading past that line. LoL power leveling!!! HAHAHAHA without HOVER!! LoL!!! hahahahahahaha what an @$$

    [/ QUOTE ]

Uhhh... I have both a Fire blaster and an Energy blaster in thier twenties (the Fire blaster only took 3 days to lvl 22, Energy is for missions and RP) and Hover is the most useless power except for going afk with no aggro. As far as I'm concerned SS is the travel mode of choice for any build. It should, however, be complimented by another, less vertically challenged power as soon as possible. (My Fire is SS/SJ, and Energy is SS/Fly)

It has gotten to the point that I hate grouping with people who do not have SS b/c I have to worry about them getting aggro and (except for SJ) just can't keep up when moving short distances (>100 yards) from group to group.
