All google did was blackout their name... still can use it.

Ok this proc is now massively broken, you go from about 30 fury to 100 fury instantly. Slot it into an AOE and it will add 7 fury per foe it hits... kind of cool though
This is pretty sweet, I can maintain 100 fury easily when its broken like this haha. -
Quote:Would be a sweet proc if they kept both, logging into Beta now to check it out.Update: Definitely test the PPM per the above, but I'd hold off on any in-depth performance testing just yet. The old effect of the Brute ATO hasn't been removed yet, so if you slot it (and if the procs are working now), you'll get BOTH.
I'm betting this build was pushed out in a hurry so that Darkness Control could be tested, so I'm sure that little bug will be squashed soon. -
Wow I did not realize they changed this and I had just now sent Synapse a long PM about this. I just never saw a patch note or anything about it.

Quote:Well you can kill Ms Liberty in SSA 3 but the game still says Darrin did it.That wouldn't work for any future content mentioning Statesman - the killer of Statesman has to be "official", so that there's one name that can always be used for the murderer - events in the neta-story need a basic truth that applies to everyone all across the game world.
*******
On another note, speaking of redemption, why is Lord Recluse evil? What made him turn evil? What was the falling out him and Statesman had? I always thought the guy wanted to conquer the world but now I am not sure if he can be "redeemed."
**********
And I also did the last part of the Destiny arc for Villains, this entire ordeal is sounding exactly like the end of that arc. The reason you go to the future to defeat Lord Recluse is to avert the end of the world crisis. Basically, if you don't do that and you become his destined one, you kill Lord Recluse in modern time which then leads to the fall of the Freedom Phalanx and the splintering of Arachnos.
This causes the 5th and the Council to make power plays to try and take over the world which then upsets the Devouring Earth and the Nemesis Army and it turns into an all out war leading to the destruction of the world.
This sounds exactly like what is going on now:
We have the Shivans, Statesman Dead and the Phalanx in shambles, Mott coming back in DA, the Praetorian War, etc. -
Horrible, what is Anonymous doing about this?
-
Wow have I been in the dark, never heard of SOPA until I saw this in the dev digest....
I glanced over the bill, this is an American thing or are they partnering with other countries or how exactly would it work? -
Quote:I will ask, how did a crab do it?Bots/Traps: Can solo any GM or AV in the game in complete safety.
Ill/Rad, Ill/Cold, Ill/anything with a regen debuff: No risk, same deal.
I'm going to stop there, but you are wrong. You assume stacking buffs and debuffs meant that my character was better than multiple support characters, and that is wrong. He isn't as good as ONE. Look up Silverado, and notice what he doesn't use: melee characters. And for good reason; they aren't as good at what he does.
Look in the Rikti Pylon thread. Notice that many of the top times are not held by scrappers, but by controllers, corrupters, and masterminds. And since you have a Crab, I'll just let you know that the fastest time ever was set by Crab, for a total of over 1000 DPS, over 3 times better than the fastest DM/SD with max mobs in AAO and Soul Drain. So don't cry to me about my character being overpowered when I can safely say that he wasn't the best at any single aspect of the game. And remember, every one of the support characters is much more valuable to a team than any melee character.
To be clear, I'm not angry about losing what I liked about my shielder. I can fairly easily replicate everything that he did on another character, though I am said that I will lose the invested time and effort I put into him. What makes me angry is that this change is not positive in any way. At best, it is a QoL nerf. And when developer time is used to negatively impact the playerbase, something is wrong. I would be willing to lose the ability to slot membranes if it meant that HOs were buffed to the point of actual usefulness, but right now it is just a net loss in usability. -
Quote:Think you are confused by the lore, Ruladak the Ravager =/= Rularuu. The Well, Rularuu, they're both powered by the crazy.
No, the writers want him to kill Statesman and get his powers, is how it's written. He isn't a genius, he just has access to behind-the-scenes information that nobody else in the game is given access to. Furthermore, villains aren't allowed to interfere with his plans at any point, even though at the end of his arc he tells you he wants to free Rularuu.
Thank you for this, I shall think of Wade as Wile E. Coyote from now on.
Two insane minds, one body. It's like that comic where Deadpool got the Power Cosmic.*
Oh and seriously, Ruladak the Ravager? How hard is it to look up the ONE TF he appears in and get his name right? Sloppy. But then again, I fully expect sloppy these days.
*This comic might not actually exist.
Ruladak is a splintered "personality" of Rularuu. Basically in the shard Rularuu is split into I believe 8 personalities all the way to Faathim the Kind. Wade is trying to become Rularuu the pieced to whole version. -
I'd watch the DA spoilers Golden Girl, or at least mark them.

I would not mind this but rogues and vigilantes would be made pointless then.

SPOILERS!!!!
SPOILERS!!!!
Okay, I have a few problems. The arc wasn't terrible, but i want to get some stuff off my chest.
First and foremost. What the crap was with Wade's "I want to free rularuu" thing being a surprise? ANYONE who has done his arc (That gives a badge, even) knows that. He is quite proud of the fact. How did I not see this coming?!?
Second: The old "Walk into a ritual" trick? Really? Come on States, how long have you been alive again? (before this >_> )
Third: Statesman got NOTHING out of any of this. He just -died-, No grand sacrifice, didn't even bloody Wade's nose. "Herp, gonna fling around the most powerful hero like a ragdoll then leave him a smoking corpse"
States, no matter WHAT people think of him, deserved something a bit more dignified. A grand battle, a sacrifice, something other than just walking onto an obvious trap and getting fried.
I agree, that mound should have had a big red X painted on it and a sign that said "Stand here Statesman" -
Quote:Well my argument here would be the Midnighters are the one that created the Shadow Shard and imprisoned Rularru. This has been stated in the lore and in one of the 46-50 hero arcs.Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if he's being subtly directed by Rularuu himself mentally or via some agent or something. Darrin thinks he's got everything he needs to free Rularuu and take his power, but Rularuu will easily break free from anything Darrin uses to bind him. He probably won't kill Darrin, allowing him to live to see the destruction he'll cause now that he's freed, and that's where the villain/hero will probably step in, to get their final battle with Darrin and have revenge/justice.
If the group could imprison him I could see this being a possibility too. -
Quote:Spoilers:Alright, thanks. I still think Wade is a pretty lame "ultimate villain", but that's neither here nor there.
Right what bugs me is this guy has found a way to dodge all of the Well's control and to become INSTANTLY a full powered Incarnate in less then 10 years. Something the entire players (Being perceived as in game characters), Statesman, Lord Recluse (especially him), haven't been able to in centuries.
Basically this guy is a genius that would put Nemesis to shame is kind of how its written.
One thing I forgot to add was that during his death Statesman mentions that Lord Recluse can be redeemed. -
Quote:I also predicted that it would be Wade that got Statesman's powers and I was correct about that. http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...highlight=wadeSince people will ask, they are, in order:
Jessica Megan Duncan/Miss Liberty, Stefan Richter/Lord Recluse, Monica Richter Cole.
Monica is the one seen for a split second in the latest Vidoc and Ultimus totally called it.
A demorecord confirms that those are the models.
Although I had theorized other possibilities like a third Incarnate path (The player getting the powers unlocking Alpha Incarnate slot) or unlocking new abilities.
********
On a discussion note, Wade is now a full Incarnate with Statesman's powers. Is he completely free from the Well? This was the discussion I was trying to bring up (See the linked thread) over a month ago.
Basically we the players are taking the "slow" Incarnate path to become full Incarnates in order to be free of the Well -- Wade has seemed to find a fast path that is free of all of the Well's influence.
Or is he free? -
Quote:Spoilers:Can you describe what happens?
PM will be fine if we're trying to keep spoilers to a minimum.
Wade uses a ritual that killed Imperius and Romulus that Sister Arelia created. He researched it for 10 years and it basically nullifies Statesman's powers.
He nullifies Statesman's powers and then uses the obelisk that he stole from Alastor the Ghost to basically float Statesman suspended in air as he absorbs his powers from him. The entire time you see flashbacks of whats going through Statesman's head like Miss Liberty as a small girl, his wife, Lord Recluse when he was a man and how even now he cannot bring himself to hate Recluse, and finally you see his wife telling him that its over. The fate of the world cannot rest on one person and to let go. (Although this part I disagree with his wife telling him to give up) -
Villains really got the shaft I would say:
Spoilers:
Betrayed by Wade, he gets the killing blow, he gets his powers, he escapes and mocks you. -
Quote:No offense but thats not that big of an accomplishment soloing an MOITF. I soloed a Master of Lord Recluse Strike force on my SS/Fire Brute and I can solo any Giant Monster in the game that I have come across. I can post screenshots from it if you don't believe me.I feel you're pain (I've played a /regen scrapper since the days when a /regen scrapper could tank Hami, solo) but I have to say, looking at this from the dev's point of view for a moment, they never wanted a single character to be able to do any of those things you listed. You can be proud of having achieved those things, and you can cherish the memories of having done them. But if your character went from being able to do all *that* ... to being average, because they corrected a very old mistake with one enhancement, then I can see why they made the change.

Anyone else staying up late to catch SSA 5? I am really excited about it myself. Any idea who the villain contact is?
Lets try and announce here when it goes live for those like me staying up
SSA IS NOW UP! SPOILERS TO COME! -
Quote:http://objection.mrdictionary.net/go.php?n=5494032Put 20-30 billion into a fire build and the same amount into a /SD build, and the FA build will be tougher. You are comparing SD with defense softcapped to fire with no defense added, and yes, SD ends up on top at that level of investment. But if you add a lot of defense (usually smashing/lethal instead of positional) to fire, it becomes a much tougher set. This is part of the problem IOs have created; resistance sets can add tons of defense but defense sets cannot add similar levels of resistance. Before I would have agreed with you because any defense added to fire would be susceptible to defense debuffs while SD would remain at the softcap, but now that SD takes 5 times as much debuff the advantage is much less.

Quote:So if I was the only member I wouldn't lose my base? Could I form a SG on the opposite side too?The next person in line of succession in the SG would become supreme leader. You would still be a member, but would have no access to your base.
As long as you don't join another SG your original SG will remain intact and when you return to your original alignment you would be able to enter your base again. If you were the only member, you would regain supreme leader status. -
Didn't see this answered, my main character I love to switch back and fourth to do missions and badges. I have always wanted to make a solo SG base but how would this effect side switching? If I was the leader of my SG and I side switched, what would happen?

Really wanting to play the new arc, if it goes live at midnight, what time zone?
