I think it's all Romans.

The only reference to modern Romans is the "A Path Into Darkness" story arc, which strongly implies that travel to Rome will turn you into a demon-fueled killing machine.

The AoE immobilize is a thing of beauty. It sure helps the enemy win the mini-game of "How Long Can You Stay in the Burn Patch?"
I have two bots MMs in patron arc range. One has soul mastery, the other has Mu. I find that soul mastery's cone hits all of the spawn more consistantly than Mu's smaller circle, but the -KB sure helps melt those enemies away when it hits them all. However, even when knocked back, the enemy is still held in place--no chasing around stragglers, so even though I haven't measured it, it seems to me than the cone speeds up kill time a little more on average than the Mu attack. -
