Eh, problem is paranoid alarmists assume just because they COULD track something, they ARE tracking it... That and getting bent out of shape over something being tracked that honestly doesn't affect them at all. Problem is, you can't really argue with them. Seriously, as I said before, why should I give a rat's *** whether Steam knows that I bought a vase on EBay?

Seriously though, I have got to admit, this thread is slightly embarrassing. For me, I mean. I don't often create threads, or even post in them, for that matter; I'm a huge lurker, and honestly I thought I had posted something that would generate some positive comments. Instead I think I must have come off looking like a troll to many of you. But I assure you, I had NO IDEA that Steam had such a large anti-fan base. -

There are no heroes in Praetoria. You fight everyone, no matter what side you are supposed to be on.
While writing is good, the story interesting - I prefer the simplicity of a sewer of bad guys to beat up. No moral questions.

It's already had involvement. City of Heroes was purchasable on Steam not too long ago. Even though Valve does take a cut for Steam purchases, any non-Valve title that doesn't have direct integration with Steam (ie, most games) doesn't require that you run Steam at all. Steam achievements aren't, well, that important (and don't need to be there at all), and any packs would just generate a code that you would enter in the store to receive some stuff.
Also, Steam's huge, and used by a lot of people. The exposure certainly wouldn't hurt. -

No, the problem is that Devices is a tattered remnant of what it used to be. And, no, it doesn't play like other Blaster secondaries. Trip Mines are far less useful than they once were, even. Trip mines are also unreliable. They don't trigger way too often, even when a mob walks right over the top of them. It absolutely does not perform up to snuff with other secondaries. Targeting Drone was supposed to be its concession to losing Aim, and it did that job well up until ED. Now it's not worth losing the damage buff portion of Aim. Smoke Grenade? Went from being brokenly powerful due to a bug to absolute rubbish. Cloaking device? With the defense and stealth suppressions, it's pretty "meh" now. Gun Drone is more trouble than it's worth to even bother summoning it. Admittedly, though, it's more useful than its previous stationary version was. Time Bomb? Meh. Can't really drop it in a fight ( Interruptable and seems to draw aggro laying it down ), stealth suppressions make dropping it in a pack before a fight all but impossible, and trying to pull a pack of mobs across it right when it blows is way too finicky to work.
Caltrops is really the set's only saving grace, and that's not worth the rest of the garbage. -

Defense: Super Reflexes. Not because it's bad, because it's not. But its sole focus (more defense) can be compensated for with IOs by every other set and what the other sets can do is harder, if not impossible, to compensate for with inventions.

WS's are, arguably, more numerically badass than PBs. I know that I can solo on x8 with my WS while my PB certainly cannot. Admittedly the WS is 50 while the PB is 30-something, but still. -
