Quote:What? I'm not sure exactly what your "he must be lonely" statement means.
I've decided to try my hand at a WS. I'm finding that in the current state of the game, playing an AT that gets stronger when you team to be a bit lacking since there are so few teams at the low levels.
There's always the Pocket D Wormhole to Praetoria- If you're on a fairly populated server, you shouldn't have any trouble finding a low level team there. -
That particular case is the point of this thread.
I'm sorry if I have been negating any of your accomplishments- I do not enjoy playing the empathy set, I can definitely admit that I'm naive when it comes to how hard it is to play a pure support character. Maybe it's very challenging to buff those Warworks while they go to town on a Pylon- I would imagine just as challenging as helping an inexperienced character/player do the same thing.
I was just trying to keep it in perspective in terms of the point of what we are discussing. As far as I know, it is unheard of for a tri-form Warshade to solo an AV. I remember a Human only shade posting a video recently, but he did it in AE with Elite Boss spawns arranged to his liking. AIB is able to do this in normal content, and without relying on lore pets.
If he needed the Lore pets, it might be less impressive, but he has proven that he doesn't. I feel like this is the first time a Warshade has done this (or at least done it and made it known publicly.) I consider it to be a huge achievement, and something absolutely worth sharing with the Kheldian community- Not something to be turned into a pissing contest. -
If it weren't for Warshades, I probably would not have ended up sticking with COH.

Quote:So it's ok if he uses his powers alongside his lore pets, but it's not ok if I do it? Gotcha.
If lore pets aren't necessary, then don't use em. It's undoubtedly a better achievement if you don't use lore pets and I never said otherwise.
Have you not been paying attention? People said "it'd be cooler if you did it without the lore pets," So he said "k" and did it without Lore pets like a day later. There is a big difference between relying on the pets to achieve something and using them to speed up the process. -
Quote:I wasn't belittling any of his achievements- First of all it's not the same situation. He used one offensive lore pet. He also took all the aggro the AV's were dishing out to keep the pet alive instead of relying on his pet to survive which I'm assuming you would have to do. The one pet was used just to add some extra DPS and speed up the process- It wasn't something that was necessary to do what he did, which was proved. So you're saying all his achievements with lore pets are not him soloing, and you were wrong to call it soloing? I wouldn't agree as they are still his powers, but that's something that's been discussed over and over in other threads.
I find it funny that all of a sudden you belittle his other achievements which you've started this thread for(soloing with lore pets), just to try and discredit mine. -

Quote:I dont think this idea for a PEAT even needs to have anything to do with khelds, and it really doesnt. I also, like someone posted earlier, think a PEAT would be some kinda Devouring Earth deal. This sounds cool but waay outside the limits of the game or what the devs can/will do.
It was meant to be hypothetical. -
Quote:How long did it take you to down that pylon? If it took you longer than it did for me then I shouldn't have any trouble soloing the AV's you soloed.
Not sure if you noticed the last batch of pictures I posted but he also soloed Chimera as a level 51 AV without Lore Pets. I hate to be a bummer, but it seems more like your Warworks soloed a Pylon while you buffed them. -
This is one of those times when I really wish COH offered fingers. Maybe one day we'll be able to buy them with our emp merits.
-
I don't think league size is an issue.. It's all about the moron to non-moron ratio.
-
If this goes down again, I would like to join you also.
-
Quote:I skipped it, basically. The time it takes to down a Rikti Pylon is used as a metric for your DPS, so I felt it would be best to go for a Pylon instead of hunting for AV's.
AIB also soloed a pylon- The pictures are in the post I made before the AV he soloed without lore pets. -
Quote:AWESOME two headed boy
It is nice to know it can be done
now go unslot your incarnates and see if you can do lvl 50 AV
just kidding
would you post your build?
I am still working on mine
Thanks
The person who these pictures belong to is a Warshade named AIB. He's asked for my help with posting them... I have his build but would not post it without his permission. -
AIB took down Chimera as a level 51 AV without Lore pets.

Quote:The veteran reward for that already exists, and the new one will probably work the same way (and the same way that "buy xp" works in the other 2 F2P games I have played) - you buy a "boost" that gives you double xp for a certain amount of time, or a certain number of bars. It'll basically be the same as patrol xp on demand.
Plus, leveling is SO quick and easy already if you want it to be, I can't imagine why it matters.
It's the principle of a bunch of people having the option to pay cash for an increased xp rate. I just hope that buying xp boost for cash doesn't unlock the same tier required for AE access... That would be disastrous(It's too late, and I'm too tired to start trying to wrap my head around the more mathy elements of this whole ordeal.)

Quote:Thank you for clearing that up for me Aqua. I was going stir crazy as I was reading, thinking "....Must... Post... Questions....!" instead of sitting back and waiting for my questions to be answered like a good boy.I don't like that idea either, but at this points its only for tier 9, so they have 34 or so tokens to get before thats possible, and at that point, either someone has WAY too much money to waste on something they would have gotten for free anyways, or its for leveling an alt up a bit faster for half a level or something and they already have several high level characters. Even if they do spend the money to be able to use the XP boost the entire way to level 50 from level 1, they still have to do some work to get any XP at all (assuming its like basically turning on double XP or patrol XP for half a level).
Its not combining IOs. Its boosting IOs. They just described the effect of the boost by comparing it to being similar to when you combine TO/DO/SOs. Basically some of
those lvl 50 LotG IOs will become lvl 50+. -
I haven't gotten through this all yet, but already I have become irked by something...
XP Boost sounds like sacrilege to me, in any way shape or form. The fact that such a thing will exist in any way to me foreshadows being able to fork over real life cash for XP at some point. I know it's not the same thing, and I'm being extreme, but it's definitely a step in that direction and it doesn't sit well with me. This is the first thing about COH Freedom that has rubbed me the wrong way.
I'm also wondering how combining IO's is going to effect the in game economy.
I was also thinking how much easier it would be to softcap things now if we drop the boosts on the glad armor and steadfast global IO's. I sort of wish they worked with set bonuses instead of individual set pieces. It's going to be an obvious choice to drop them in global enhancements and procs. -
This issue has been resolved already. War Mace/Energy Aura Scrappers are the PEAT.

I would trust the Virusman on this one if I were you. He's a clever fellow.

Quote:Cool, I look forward to teaming with you.Two things:
1. I could use this for my ill/rad, so I'm definitely up for it. And I shouldn't have any overtime this weekend!
Quote:2. (This part doesn't really affect me, but I thought I'd bring it up anyway)
What about fire tanks? Hear me out, now--it really annoys me when people want my fire tank to sit in the middle of a pathway. Burn, the main damage dealer (mob killer) is grossly ineffective when the mobs can run right through it. However, you set that up at a door, maybe 1-2 of the enemies will manage to escape the doorway of death. Not playing to your strength reduces effectiveness by quite a bit.
For the rest of your AT's, however, I totally agree with you. No one else really has the same problem, as other location AoE's generally have some form of -speed or mezz. -

And now, Bobcat. I don't think there's much he CAN'T solo.
