Master of the B.A.F- Saturday, July 23 @ 4 PM EDT
If I'm around, I'll give you a hand. I would be bringing my pet heavy Bane, so I'd like to be on the Adds team.

YOU GOT GUTS KID!
I'll see what I can do. I may be burned out on leading MOBAF myself but I'll certainly help you out!

Two things:
1. I could use this for my ill/rad, so I'm definitely up for it. And I shouldn't have any overtime this weekend!
This is one that really gets to me, so let me be clear: If you are fighting prisoners at doors, you will be kicked. If you are unfamiliar with how this works, I drew you a picture.

What about fire tanks? Hear me out, now--it really annoys me when people want my fire tank to sit in the middle of a pathway. Burn, the main damage dealer (mob killer) is grossly ineffective when the mobs can run right through it. However, you set that up at a door, maybe 1-2 of the enemies will manage to escape the doorway of death. Not playing to your strength reduces effectiveness by quite a bit.
For the rest of your AT's, however, I totally agree with you. No one else really has the same problem, as other location AoE's generally have some form of -speed or mezz.

2. (This part doesn't really affect me, but I thought I'd bring it up anyway) What about fire tanks? There is a door at the south choke point. if you want to run over there when burn is up, I have no problems with that. My Fire Blaster often drops rain of fire on that door. |
But yeah, I'm bringing my ill/rad--I have the MoBAF on the fire tank already.
You'll want to drop burn in the middle of the southern chokepoint-hear me out!
You hit 4x the amount of enemies at that point. There is a little bit of buggy-ness at the doorway where they'll stand still, but the enemies coming from that door aren't the problem, it's typically the runners from the far east door, which turn the corner and proceed to the exit.
It is INCREDIBLY easy to focus AoEs (especially patches) at that junction, and with area buffs flying out to increase the damage even further, incinerate even LTs coming from the southern door.
Everyone wants the most fire time on the enemies, etc, but really for team effectiveness, chokepoints are the way to go! By increasing the # of targets you get to HIT with the AoE, you increase the amount of damage that you deal overall!

I would trust the Virusman on this one if I were you. He's a clever fellow.
*shrug* Maybe you've found this to work for you, but I haven't. The enemies are too spaced out, and the radius of burn too small. Doing it at the choke point gets me a net of roughly 3 enemies hit with the main impact of burn.
Done at the door, I can hit the whole spawn with them.
I'll grant you, though, that in optimum (and only optimum) circumstances--such as multiple location -slows/immobilizes, a fire tank would be able to be of more use at the choke point. In all other cases, however, you'll get more use out of effectively shutting down one of the spawning points than hitting a couple enemies every so often with burn, then chasing down the others.
I've never had that optimum setting happen for me, and while it may happen here, it won't be for me because I'm bring a controller

I have to apologize, I'll need to push this back to Sunday as a friend of mine from high school passed in a car accident last night- I will be busy doing irl stuff for most of the day.
I'm editing the OP with the new date, sorry to anyone who won't be able to make it because of the change.

Keep NCSoft from shutting down City of Heroes : http://www.change.org/petitions/ncso...city-of-heroes
Once again I apologize if anyone planned around participating in this event- I'll be up for hosting it tomorrow at the same time if interest is still there.
Master of the B.A.F- Sunday, July 24 @ 4 PM EDT
I decided to put this together for anyone who still needs one or all of the badges. I've had more horror stories on Protector than I can count in terms of the people I've run trials with, but I know on average the forum crowd tends to consist of better players so this seemed like the best place to recruit.
Unfortunately since the Protector trial crowd has left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth, I will be running this pretty strictly. Here are some general guidelines to Master of B.A.F. as well as how I plan on doing it:
1.) Don't touch the glowies.
2.) We will split into 3 teams, each with certain tasks delegated to them. If you would like to be placed on a specific team, please let me know in advance.
3.) During the first Nightstar fight, teams 1 & 2 will fight her at her spawn point. Team 3 will fight the adds at their spawn point, which is the Helipad. During this phase, team 3 will not leave the Helipad, and neither will the adds that team 3 is in charge of killing. No exceptions.
4.) During the Escaped Prisoners phase, teams 1 &2 will cover the south choke point. Team 3 will cover the north choke point.
This is one that really gets to me, so let me be clear: If you are fighting prisoners at doors, you will be kicked. If you are unfamiliar with how this works, I drew you a picture.
5.) During the first Siege fight, teams 1 & 2 will fight him at his spawn point. Team 3 will fight the adds at their spawn point. During this phase, team 3 will not leave the Helipad, and neither will the adds that team 3 is in charge of killing.
6.) When Siege gets to 5 health, team 2 will run back to Nightstar and prepare to fight her at her spawn point and team 1 will prepare itself to fight Siege again. Team 3 will continue to focus on adds. Siege and Nightstar's health bars will be kept even. If Siege's health gets lower than Nightstar's, team 1 will let up until they are evened out, and vice versa.

I will be going over all of this before we start in league chat. If you're interested in joining, please let me know here, send me a tell @Septipheran, or if you come across my Warshade with the same name in game. Hope to see you Saturday.
