Arachnos are the #1 Warshade griefers in my book. Put them on +4 and they just start cheating.

Quote:When CoV released, I rolled a character in head start and decided to race the pack to the level cap, something I rarely do (try to level as fast as possible). I am pretty sure I was within the first seven people or so to the level cap of 40 on my server: there were not many people in that first group of fast levelers and we all hit 40 within a day or so of each other.
MA/Nin stalker. Keeping up with the brutes and bots.
If racing to the level cap was the best way to gauge performance, /FA anything would be the most powerful set in the game. -

Quote:No, actually, I left it in Dwarf mire. The reason is one of the mires must get armageddon and one of them must get obliteration, and, considering the frequency Dwarf mire is used while in that form, I would rather have some more endredux in it. Now that you mention it, though, I spend so little time in Dwarf it might be time to switch that over. Dwarf has lost nearly all of its use for me.
personally I have been using Dechs' 3 slotting for Human Mire (Oblit: acc/rech, scirocco: acc/rech, rech IO) and Armageddon in Dwarf Mire.
I have been using Dwarf as my AV form, I also use Kinetic Combats in Dwarf strike, smite, and drain with Miracle heal and heal/End in Dwarf Drain, and one Nucleo on the end of smite and strike. I have been seriously considering dropping a Fury of the Gladiator res debuff on the end of Dwarf Mire... How much do you think that would help DPS? I don't think I can find a way to get the slots for a human attack chain without gimping something else (I use my human form exclusively for buffs and controls)
Edit: I just remembered my last respec moved hecatomb to Dwarf Smite out of G Well and replaced g well with 4 kinetic combats and a lockdown proc. -
So I take it you have Armageddon in Human Mire? When do you actually use dwarf form, just for stacking Mires in crowds? I like putting Apocalypse in Nova Bolt... Do you sub it for Decimation?
-
I would say Warshades are already competitive in terms of crowd control. Inky Aspect, Gravitic Emanation, and Unchain Essence can stun entire groups... That's on top of the single target hold. I really don't think Warshade's Human form needs any more damage added on since it's already very proficient with utility.
-
My gravity well is slotted as an attack, but it has a lockdown proc in it.
I also have gravitic emanation and inky aspect though. (And Unchain Essence, but that's also slotted as an attack.) -
What would this attack chain be, and what would the minimum amount of slots be per power? Also, I'm assuming it uses Orbiting Death, so no Gravimetric Snare? I just recently devoted some slots (two endoplasm's and a Gravitational Anchor: Immobilize) for locking down AV's.
Also, I find that I like to use my Dwarf Mire even against single targets for the to-hit/damage bonus. How would you manage to do that if you run toggles? -
It isn't a matter of people not wanting to do new things, it's a matter of the rewards system being unbalanced. I personally feel that successful Master runs for BAF and Lambda should automatically eliminate the common and threads reward tables for everyone in the league, and Master runs for Keyes should eliminate the uncommon table in addition. Run a successful MoKeyes, get a Rare or VR guaranteed. That would not only get people running the trial more, it would force people to learn it well also.
Something else that I've heard is already being addressed is the ability to get two Emp merits with i21 for Keyes and UG trials. This is enough for me to do Keyes again (I've only done it twice, the day it came out) and start doing the UG trial... Emp merits can be saved for extremely valuable items, and I'm (pretty sure) this will be a faster way to progress than saving alignment merits. -

Ran this by Dechs recently and he seemed to think it was a good idea too.... My most recent build features a Fury of the Gladiator -Res proc in Dwarf Mire. Considering that a lot of your time fighting AV's will be in Dwarf form and Black Dwarf Mire is (as far as I know) perma on a perma eclipsed build, this proc will be very useful against AV's (and everything else.)
And I agree with everyone, Reactive fire dot is the way to go. -
What if Stone and I pool our bribes and split the winnings between us? Just think how many Hydraulic Pistons and how much Gold you could have!

Ok then...it's less like playing an energy melee character? By which I am not implying that energy melee is "Not Fun," just that tri-forming gives one more options.
Haha, I actually have fun playing Luminarious human-only as an energy/energy blapper with good resists and a small bag full of extra goodies. I can enjoy both routes, I was just explaining why Tri Form ended up taking the cake for me. -
Quote:>Here is why I have decided to go Tri Form:
you're talking to the guy that wrote the i9 PB TriForm guide! (just came back to the game)
For some reason I thought you already had triform PB. Definitely go Triform first, forget the naysayers, "dance" between forms and kick some booty and enjoy what a properly played PB has to provide. Really, it's not about the size of the build, it's how you use it
I just deleted my Earth/rad at lvl46, not because it was weak, but because I thought it was boring to play. Fun is relevant to how I play.
See my OP. I've switched between Human and Tri Form through the leveling process with more time spent on Tri Form. My main is a tri form Warshade. -
If the Dwarf forms got endurance drain Resistance, I would be beyond happy.

The point of your experiment is to show that Warshades can do something that probably any other character in the game could do with all these temp powers and pets? </confuse>

Quote:Yes, the changes on Beta. A lot of people seem to be under the impression that Human Only will still have a clear advantage after perma light form (which carries over to forms) and Inner Light (which has a much longer duration than buildup)>After recent developments
are you talking about the Kheld changes on beta or something unrelated?
I am thinking about trying a human Only PB (in fact the changes on Beta seem to make it even more palatable), so I was following this thread with curiosity.
Here is why I have decided to go Tri Form:
1.) Exemping. The WST's and Flashback systems are a very big part of the game, and I find that Kheldians with all of their forms are some of if not the most effective things to play when you exemp as far down as level 15 (still so even higher.)
2.) I use Human Form attacks for mostly the single target melee's to take out bosses. The Knockback in Solar Flare becomes a non-issue when you shift to Nova and take out everything but the bosses you just knocked back in two shots. Light Form will give Nova much more safety in the form of resistance and mez protection.
3.) White Dwarf is, in my opinion, a much better tank than Human Form. Sometimes the going gets rough, and paired with the +HP and resists that come with Dwarf (and the mitigation in Dwarf Flare) stacking with Light Form, Dwarf will *in my opinion* add much more versatility to my playstyle.
4.) Buildup benefited Human Form the most. Inner Light, while perhaps still favoring human attacks, will help out Nova substantially also. There are situations where you want to use AoE's, and situations where you want to stay at range. Nova is your best option for both (once again, LF in Nova will make it more survivable to boot.)
I'm not saying that the decision I am making the the best one to make, I'm just explaining my reevaluation in light of recent events. -
Quote:Perhaps PB and WS need to be brought back to the drawing board and rebuilt from the ground up? Keep the forms but make sure that all forms have their appropriate strengths and advantages to each other, and perhaps even let Khelds get a few more enhancement slots for the powers.
leave my Warshade alone. -
Quote:heh, hadn't thought of that- Good point. But does Essence Boost cap Human Form's HP on its' own?Oh, but it is. If you've got enough recharge to get Light Form Perma, you also have perma Essence Boost.
And I will. Oh, I will.
Quote:Well, the point about AoE damage is a valid one. The question is: does that slight edge in AoE damage make Nova worth taking, or can Human Form kill single targets quicker with its fuller attack chain?
The forms do have good synergy with each other if used appropriately- There's no reason you should have to choose between AOE and Single Target damage... Personally, I think Light Form carrying over to Nova will be a great help. I originally planned to respec into a Human Only build once I picked up Clarion, but with LF carrying over to forms and being perma-able (heh) I have decided I will stick with Tri Form. Something else to consider is that Exemping is a pretty big part of the game with the WST's and the Flashback system- I find my Kheldians are more effective than the majority of characters when exemped if they have forms.
Quote:Add to that the fact that Novas' AoE attack chain is pretty much outclassed by virtually every other AoE archetype, and I'm definitely going to stay human.
Nova doesn't suffer as badly as Dwarf from being obviated, but its one advantage is still not enough to make it worth taking.
Quote:Fair enough, but when the rationale behind the changes to the powers was to normalize them with their Warshade counterparts (as the patch notes state) one expects at least normalized performance between Warshades and Peacebringers, which we haven't got.
And even though the functionality is different, the utility is the same. Peacebringer and Warshade builds just got a lot closer in terms of slotting, and the conditions for using them remain the only aesthetic difference.
Don't get the wrong idea here, I still think that Peacebringers need work... But at the same time I am glad that the Dev's have taken the time to give us what they have when there is obviously so much going on as of late. I see it as a welcome step in the right direction. We have every indication that they have been paying attention to the Kheldian community's concerns we have addressed in our forum and I think the fact that any buffs are happening at all in i21 was a big surprise to most of us. They never said ahead of time that these changes were coming, so we have no indication that more changes won't follow. -
Quote:I was responding to a post that said the buffs made to Peacebringers were only buffs to human form. I never said that playing Human only wouldn't be more beneficial- Just that the buffs weren't exclusive to one form. What's the point? With Light Form able to be made Perma, it will mean that human form - with one Dull Pain Clone, one Reconstruction Clone, accolades and moderate set investment will have roughly the same hit points, have mez protection, be more survivable, have access to pool toggles AND have far greater damage potential.
Quote:It isn't that Dwarf doesn't benefit - it's that it's just been made irrelevent.
Quote:Except that Nova gets its damage from an overcomplicated and obsolete formula designed to limit nova's damage potential with the damage cap. By using the 45% inherent boost to a nova's damage, nova form will cap out 45% quicker than human.
And when human form can outdamage nova anyway AND has a better attack chain AND is far, far more survivable, Nova is in the same position that Dwarf is in.
Quote:Except, you know, the whole "make build up last 30 seconds like mire" and "make Light Form not lock out the forms and be permable like eclipse" suggestions. -
Quote:Yeah, I'm still amazed that the idea to fix Peacebringers involved mostly "improving" Human Form powers when Dwarf Form was already almost useless at higher levels with Nova only being slightly better, but this misconception of what's wrong with the PBs has been dominating the threads on the Kheldian sub forum too so it's not just the Devs who are so wrong-minded. It's like nobody actually plays the AT and everybody just wants them to be like Warshades.
Light Form carrying over to Dwarf will increase its' survivability- Same can be said for Nova. Inner Light's longer duration will make it far more beneficial to forms than buildup was. No one is asking for PB's to be Warshade clones. They are meant to function differently, the reason that Warshades are brought up so often in discussions about PB improvement is because there is a huge performance gap. Many people have provided suggestions here to help bridge that gap, none of which (at least the good ones) involve making Peacebringers anything close to Warshade clones. -
Quote:Pilgrim, I understand but its like beating your head against the wall. The recent changes are nice, but I feel insufficient. That and no feedback, other then handing us a cookie, and telling us they aren't gonna fix anything else right now.
They've obviously had their hands full with developing many things at once as of late... Personally I think these changes are a big deal, not that they are the final say on the matter but as a sign that they did not forget about us and will dedicate more time to the remaining issues when they are able to.
I am a big fan of "fixing the broken stuff" before "making new stuff," but in the case of Freedom a lot of this "new stuff" is going to (hopefully) result in the Developers having more resources to continue to improve upon things while pumping out more new content.
