That was part of the suggestion. Yep right there at the very end.

Ok maybe a shinyer (lots of light spears) WS teleport graphic

To be honest I do think this is a bad idea. Maybe some kind of voting system to get a lock like when playing other games on line you can vote to change the map. If say the thread gets a 50% vote to lock an alert is sent to the OP and if he disagrees that alert gets forwarded to a moderator to then decide.
I feel allowing us to have an input into moderation would allow a fairer system and also alert Mods to more problematic posts earlier.
Failing that just having an option to put an explaination onto the report a post feature would be a great aid to ourselves as a community and also to the mods. -
I just think that being able to make the bases as customisable as you can characters would be a big bonus.
-
I think this option of a new global server combined with the suggestion in my Holly Hop Drive thread would be amazing and would allow you to jump to that server only. Then as I said if you like it there with the toon after a half dozen or visits or so you could then pay for a permament server transfer.
-
I do think it would be a usefull addition as would allow you to make friends with your mains that maybe more usefull in getting teams or if you a certain person you only have one toon. And by making it a tempary jump it allows you to see if the grass is greener.
I also would expect it to generate more in server transfers. For example if you find you are jumping a toon accross and find it easier to get teams etc you would be more tempted to move the toon on a permament basis, it is that reason I said a 2 hour time limit per hop.
1 last thing would be when jumping server it would be nice to see a doctor who type vortex design indicating breaking through the walls of reality. -
I have been thinking about SG bases at the moment.
I woudl like to be able to limit access to certain areas of the base.
For example if you are trying to store some enhancements to move around some toons you have to do it and hope noone takes what u placed whilst you are moving them. Or maybe you get a nice enhancement/recipe that you make and dont want to use it just yet or store it for a later date.
What I propose is a system that would keep certain rooms private. This could be based upon SG rank allowing access to rooms. Or another option would be to allow a pin access to enhancements/recipes so you can place them and then give the recipient the pin or use it your self on an alt.
I know that is complicated but another option would be to allow the vault to be on a global access and not per toon. This would require an increase in storage size but should be easier to implement. -
Like an art gallery where people can pay SG prestige to post a picture and more so to make a statue?
-
Paintings. I would like to be able to set screenshots as paintings in my SG base. I know that this could be abused by some people wanting to post all sorts of pictures but it would have to be self-regulated by a SG and Coalition, or maybe enter a queue so the image can be pre-approved. It would allow SG's to have a hall of fame feature, or a library of encounters. There maybe should be an option to click the photo and see a larger version of it expanded on the screen or if not that maybe clicking the photo/painting would bring up a dialogue box allowing some explanation of the painting (i.e. Player X Dinging 50, or Team of X,Y,Z taking down AV ???).
Statues. I would like to be able to create statues within the SG base. The statues would be created via the character creator tool but would have limited colours (Stone, bronze, silver, gold etc for complete look). Again this feature would add to the hall of fame feature I would like to be able to create. Maybe should be emote poses that the statue can pull so they are that little bit more customisable.
IMO it would encourage SG activities and open a whole new way of interacting with the SG allowing for SG competitions for most artistic view/shot, encouraging SG team photo shoots, and SG teaming to get great pictures during combat. It would also be a way of remembering our fallen allies, friends that have left, and characters that were fun but now deleted. -
The only thing that I can thnk of that could possibly come close to a fleet battle would have been old style Hammi and that has been changed. Maybe if enough people went to get an AV but then the server makes second instances of a map when too many people are on it, so cant see that becoming a problem, but am not really qualified to comment

my data transfer in a full team rarely goes above 20K download and about 14k upload

I have already conveyed sympathy in an earlier thread.
The comment was meant as a take everything you can get way. I mean artwork, desk phone, the computer, everything.
I did not mean it in the way that it appears to come accross so I apologise. -
Remeber when you empty your desk......Take Everything

Sorry I now understand your 3/4 word post.
I dont know what you are basing that on as other games dont have that lag as far as I know that have 1 server (EVE - is the only one I have expierence of, but I am sure - dare i say it- WoW doesnt AFAIK) -
Really?
Friends I have that have already moved dont appear to expierience lag any worse than the EU servers. In fact most of them say their expierence is better.
Do you have any expierience of it? -
NCsoft Announces Formation of NC West
CEO Taek Jin Kim Promotes Chris Chung, Jeff Strain, David Reid, and Patrick Wyatt
SEOUL, Korea, Sept. 10, 2008 NCsoft ® Corporation (KSE: 036570.KS), the worlds leading publisher and developer of massively multiplayer online games (MMOs), including award-winning franchises Lineage ®, Guild Wars ® and City of Heroes ®, today announced the formation of NC West. A wholly-owned subsidiary of NCsoft with operating responsibility for western regions including the US and Europe, NC West will be led by Chris Chung as CEO, Jeff Strain as president, product development, David Reid as president, publishing, and Patrick Wyatt as CTO as well as yet unannounced European executives.
NCsofts existing subsidiaries NC Interactive, NC Europe, NC Austin, and ArenaNet will be led as a unified organization under NC West with a dedicated focus towards becoming the worlds premier western publisher of MMOs. NC West is the tentative name for the organization, and the company expects to announce final naming and corporate structure in the near future. NC West's headquarters is planned to be established in Seattle, WA by the end of 2008.
Chris Chung, previously CEO of NC Interactive, has a long history with NCsoft. He began his tenure at NCsofts ArenaNet® studio, where he managed that studios business and helped launch the multi-platinum selling Guild Wars franchise. Chung later went on to become the chief publishing officer for NCsofts Seoul headquarters. Prior to NCsoft, Chung spent more than five years at Microsoft and later co-founded a marketing research firm. As CEO of NC West, Chung will continue to report directly to NCsoft CEO Taek Jin (TJ) Kim.
We are confident that by combining our subsidiaries into a unified global organization under Chris Chungs leadership, NC West will become a more powerful force to be reckoned with in the western MMO market, said TJ Kim. Chris has become a guiding force within our company and has been extremely successful at every position he has held with us. His detailed first-hand knowledge of all aspects of our business is invaluable and will help establish NC West as a global leader.
Jeff Strain was formerly the president and co-founder of ArenaNet, a company he formed with Patrick Wyatt and Mike OBrien when they left senior roles at Blizzard Entertainment in 2000. Additionally, Strain held the position of executive producer of Guild Wars 2 prior to taking this new role. Strain will report directly to Chung and manage all NC West development studios across all existing and future products. Strain will also direct the production of NCsofts Asian-developed titles for NC West territories.
David Reid began with NCsoft in March 2008 as vice-president, marketing for North America. Reid came to NCsoft from Turner Broadcastings GameTap, where he served as vice-president, marketing. Prior to that, he worked at Microsoft as director of global platform marketing, where he launched the Xbox 360. In his new role, Reid will continue to report to Chung and will lead franchise management, marketing, public relations, sales, and customer support for NC West.
As a founder of ArenaNet, Patrick Wyatt led the development of the network and server technologies for the Guild Wars franchise, and directed the architecture and deployment of ArenaNet's global game network infrastructure. Before co-founding ArenaNet with Strain and O'Brien, Wyatt was the vice president of research and development for Blizzard Entertainment, where he led programming for the Warcraft, StarCraft, and Diablo franchises. As CTO for NC West, Wyatt will report to Chung and will focus on platform technology development, network operations, and systems engineering.
There is an unparalleled opportunity for growth in the massively multiplayer online market, said Chris Chung. By combining the strength of our US and European teams, NCsoft has the best global infrastructure to win in new and existing markets, and the best developer talent capable of creating blockbuster MMO franchises.

Is this what GhostRaptor was implying when he said enigmatically in a post he wondered where we would all be living?
Sorry to hear it guys and I hope as many as possible whether the storm. -
Naff all people???
I have looked through the post and have seen at least 2 people that have endorsed the idea of server jumping on a temp basis. There is also a couple of people that have endorsed the idea of an accolade award for the shard TFs, which albiet is a small part of the suggestion that ignores the bulk of the suggestion it is still endorsed. -
ARGH SUBTEFUGE AND DECEPTION
Do we not have memories?
A tiny small scrap of a carrot derailed the thread. -
I am not specifically asking for it to the US servers hence why that was in brackets. Also the sever transfer system is already in place, it just needs some tweaking to have a 2 hour shift.
As pointed out by someone else this would make for PvP tournements easier.
Your point about not going to the shadow shards is exactly why I chose them as the reason for giving this accolade. They are in another dimension and so seems fitting in that completing another dimensions TFs you should be able to master Dimension Jumping. They are not done frequently and would encourage use of a beautiful zone and underused content. -
Thanks for the input
