Double posting like a pro. It's justified. RECAP TIME!

So, three of us showed up: Matty Marvelous, Magehound, and Vanishing Man.

We proceeded to learn that in total, we had a snarky fellow, a dude who didn't seem very social, and a very talkative, opinionated blonde. Fun times.

After realizing that none of the three really liked each other, we proceeded to take up some tasks for Praetor White - aforementioned sketchy black dude we were all intended to meet near.

He had the team go and free some hostages in a nearby building. Reasonable enough.

Except Magehound vanished into the void, leaving Matty and Vanishing Man to promptly get a nice taste of the ground.

No harm no foul, it happens to be the best of us.

Over the next hour or so, Matty and Vanishing Man proceeded to trounce everything that dared to stand against them, all the while realizing that the PPD are hopeless, and those that are actually decent at what they do are probably working for the Resistance.

    Yay.

The team stopped when the sketchy Praetor cut them loose, and are waiting for the rest of the team to show up to actually go and talk to this Provost Marchand fellow.

    ---

So. It was fun, even though it was just the three... er... two... er... anyone think the name Vanishing Man want to the wrong guy? ;D. Anyway. Our next meeting, hopefully, will be next Sunday. To try and ensure that we get more of a turnout next time around, I'll send you all a pm on Friday, or, if you all post here with your globals, I'll send you all in-game messages. Either way, judging by the fact that I enjoyed myself with just Matty and Vanishing Man, I think it'll be a blast when we get the team a bit more filled out.

... Only if we get someone else who's actually good at this whole socializing thing. Matty needs it. =P

Here as Matty Marvelous, and yes, the name was meant to be cheesy as hell.

    ^ LOL, here's hoping.

Anyway, I'm going to be a couple of minutes late. Having a tiny bit of trouble logging in, but it should be alright once I restart. See you guys soon!

@Quarrios, Well it's worth a shot, right? Not to sound like a pessimist, but I doubt that all eight of us are actually going to show up tonight (I'm hoping that we do, but y'know, that's reality, people forget) so why not stop by tonight yourself? If we're running short, you could come along, and at the very least, you could be a part of the pre-mission rp, right? Again, broken record, but even if you can't do the teaming, either because Praetoria hates you or you can't make it, supergroup. Eventually. You're welcome to join. =D

    ALSO.

Everyone, just a reminder that tonight is going to be our first meeting. So, everyone meet at Cole Tower (that's the big one, with the statue of Emperor Cole, and the fountain. And the big black guy.) at 7 PM, EST. As a bit of backstory as to why they'd all be working together, despite the fact that they won't be government-sanctioned until they become a team on Primal Earth, I'm thinking that they would all sort of know each other (first-name basis or whatever) and decided to work together on the grounds that they can get more done in a group than they can individually. So basically, they're not total strangers, but they don't know much about each other beyond names and stuff. =D
  5. Tsukasa_NA

    A possible idea.

Wonders? Yeah, that's taken because I have an alt sitting on it right now for me. XD. But gracias, I appreciate the warning, Quarrios.

@Irish, that looks awesome! And he could be quite helpful, what with integrating the Praetorian natives into Paragon and everything. So yeah, we have to figure something out for when the rest of the group gets to Paragon. =D

@Stormy, aw, sorry about that. I was just trying to figure out a day that would work for most people, y'know? And even if no one else pipes up with a similar concept, perhaps you'd be interested in bringing your luck shifter into the eventual supergroup? That would be more of a casual RP situation, in that there likely wouldn't be so much of a set date for static teaming; there would probably be a couple throughout the week, to accommodate everyone.
  6. Despite the fact that I'm also trying to start another static team (clearly) do note that I'm still totally in for this. And I totally have a character idea already. =D
  7. Tsukasa_NA

    A possible idea.

@Irish Fury, that would be lovely. It's always nice to have some friends outside the main group to tag along from time to time; even the biggest superhero teams invited their buddies along from time to time. =D

@Viseur, ...I totally missed you on that list, didn't I? Damn. I knew I shouldn't have tried to write that when I was falling asleep. Well... you're on it now! If that's any consolation. So yeah. Welcome to the team! ... Again. =P

@Fourth, I'm really sorry. D= I'd love to have you along, and I'm sure you'd know that, but I'm trying to accommodate as many people as I can, y'know? And it just seems like Sunday is the generally more acceptable day, so... yeah. I really hope you could still pop in from time to time or something, as it would be very nice to RP with you. =D

@Selenir, I do believe that we're still all filled up, but you're definitely on the reserve list. People who change their size are amazing, and I'm sure she'd be a fun character to have around.

Right now, it seems as though the roster is:
    - ShadowWings
    - thgebull
    - Philly_Guy
    - The_Myme
    - Dinah Might
    - Viseur
    - Tsukasa
    - Zinedine

As well as several awesome reserves that I won't list because I'm lazy. XD

Right now, assuming the above listed individuals are okay with it, I'm looking at a tentative first meeting at 7 PM, EST on Sunday, July 3rd, at the base of Cole Tower.

Oh! And for those of you who aren't able to join the Sunday static group for one reason or another, remember this: I intend to grow this group into a supergroup upon their arrival on Primal Earth. A supergroup that you are all welcome to join, even if you aren't able to be a part of the actual static team. I'm often around, so RPing and such are still certainly possible, and I'd be more than happy to RP with all of you, regardless of whether you are on the static team or not. =D
  8. Tsukasa_NA

    A possible idea.

Okay! So I thought I'd give it some time for everyone else to chime in about Sunday, but considering that Fourth is the only one who spoke up to say that he wouldn't be able to do Sundays, is everyone alright with it? And I suppose that could work out perfectly, because we could have our first meeting this upcoming Sunday - it still gives everyone a few days to work out character concepts and whatnot, so I see no reason why not. =D.
  9. Tsukasa_NA

    A possible idea.

Hmm. While Tuesday seemed generally more favorable, how does everyone feel about Sunday? Again, I'm impartial, but I just want to try and figure out a day that works for all of us - having to lose anyone would suck. If Sunday doesn't work, then I guess we'll stick with Tuesday, though let me just say, if we do lose anyone, you will be sorely missed. =).

    Also, OMG A BRONY.

I'll keep you in mind in case anyone needs to drop for any reason, Zandock. =D
  10. Tsukasa_NA

    A possible idea.

Bull, it seems that the majority of the group is more into the idea of running on Tuesday nights. Is there any way you could swing that? I'd just rather go with what the majority would prefer, y'know? And I'd hate to lose you because of a time thing.

And Zinedine, the interest is wonderful. =D. However, at present, I think we are at eight, which, as the cap for any normal team, would be the cap for our static team, sadly. However, you are the next one on the list on the off-chance that someone happens to drop out.

    So, we have:
    - ShadowWings
    - Fourth
    - thgebull
    - Philly_Guy
    - The_Myme
    - Dinah Might
    - Chilling Temper
    - and myself, Tsukasa.

... I'm hoping I didn't miss anyone there, and a couple of our number have yet to chime in with their opinion on times and whatnot, but yeah. That's the list I gathered last night, so it seems that we've hit our eight. =D

Also, I believe we would be rolling in Praetoria, whether that means developing new characters altogether or bringing existing ones into Praetoria to team (though creating new ones is greatly encouraged, that way we're all at equal levels and level pacts can be established right from the get-go), and, assuming we're going with Tuesdays, we could have our first meeting next week? I'd say today, but as a few have yet to establish whether Tuesdays are actually fine with them, and people likely need time to develop character concepts and whatnot, I'm fine with waiting.
  11. Tsukasa_NA

    A possible idea.

Yes, for sure. As I've said, I'm good for any night at all, so it's ultimately up to you guys. From what I can gather, Monday and Wednesday are pretty much out, as are Thursdays, for the most part. How does Tuesday around seven sound to everyone?

We can work out scheduling and whatnot after we decide on the day, to figure out how long we'd be playing for - at present, I'm thinking of around two and a half hours or so. Half an hour of general rp for character development, mission briefing, etc., and then two hours of playing through various missions and arcs. Of course, further rp afterwards would be fine, but not mandatory; of course, this is all up to debate, it's just the general structure that I had in mind.
  12. Tsukasa_NA

    A possible idea.

Either character would be quite welcome, Dinah. I'm just quite grateful for the interest, and I'm willing to do whatever I need to to shape this idea in order to keep everyone interested in it, y'know? =P
  13. Tsukasa_NA

    A possible idea.

Well they wouldn't necessarily have to be craving the spotlight. They just would need to have some reason for aligning themselves with some who do - for instance, someone who simply wanting to make a name for himself as a hero for no other reason than to make people believe that they can turn to and trust him might be willing to put up with truly irritating allies who just want attention in general. If that makes any sense, of course.

Look at it this way: The X-Men obviously wanted to show the world that mutants weren't all bad - doesn't mean that they turned Emma Frost away, despite the fact that she was quite full of herself and seemed to adore attention.

Plus, having a few who aren't so focused on just the spotlight could be refreshing - it would add variety, and be cause for arguments and confrontations as time goes on. =D

Edit: Also, do note that my ideas aren't the be-all end-all. While I like the idea of a team of self-centered jerks, if you guys would prefer to have a team more like the Avengers, wherein there are actually some good people involved, that's perfectly fine. I'm open to suggestions and input, and I'm far more willing to go with what you guys want than to push my own ideas on you all. So if you guys are more fond of the idea of a very justice-oriented, protecting the people group, that's fine - I'll just probably keep my character as being attention-focused, and everything will be just peachy. =D. Just let me know what you all want, I'm very open to suggestions.
  14. Tsukasa_NA

    A possible idea.

I'm also ET, probably should have mentioned that.

And while I was hoping for us to start in Praetoria, so as to offer a wider variety of AT's and whatnot, I was actually thinking we'd go Loyalist, particularly the Powers storyline. After all, my vision of the Wonders was for them to be the attention-craving heroes that want nothing more than to be in the tabloids. Which is particularly what the Powers storyline entails, no? =P
  15. Tsukasa_NA

    A possible idea.

Oh wow. I wake up, and there's this much interest. I like. =D

Yes, Dinah, I'm sure that character!Dinah would be perfectly capable of getting in on this. The reason why I said teens/young adults is that they're more prone to stupidity and attention-mongering than most adults are, from what I've seen. No, I'm sure any aged character could fit, so long as they have an adoration of the spotlight and the desire to see their name up in lights or whatever. Which brings even better news: I have a name that, personally, I'm quite fond of for the team that hopefully will blossom into a supergroup, which is just so cheesy that I couldn't help but love it.

    The Wonders.

Yeah. I was looking for something along the lines of the Avengers, or the Ultimates - a one-word name that most will not be able to get out of their minds. I don't know about you guys, but personally, I love it. I couldn't get the 'The' in there, but 'Wonders' is reserved by a character that I don't really play that often anymore as of yesterday, so it's there if the supergroup goal ever actually gets reached.

As far as day/time goes, that's up to you guys. I'm generally impartial, as I'm able to play for extended periods of time every day of the week, so I'd rather let you guys try and decide what day works best for you. It seems that several of you already have static groups and whatnot going, whereas I don't, so it'd be easier to just let you all figure out which days are best. =D

If you guys have any more questions, or need to contact me, my global is @Nascentish; just fire me a tell or whatever, and I'll reply as soon as possible. =D
  16. Tsukasa_NA

    A possible idea.

Duly noted, Voodoo. I completely forgot about level pacts, as I've only ever been in one, but that's a wonderful idea. Thanks! =D

Thanks for the interest, ShadowWings! Happy to know that at least someone would be interested in doing this, as I was rather worried I'd get a whole lotta nothing after I posted this. =P.

Okay, so I've been thinking the concept through a little bit more, attempting to figure out how to tie in a group of heroes from Praetoria eventually becoming a team fighting for the good of Primal Earth. And what I have is this:

It could be a group of young upstarts, in their late teens to early twenties, all members of the Powers Division who want to make a name for themselves. These aren't your typical heroes who will want to do everything they can for the good of the community - these are the heroes who want to be on Oprah's couch, on the cover of magazines, blowing kisses to the adoring masses as they pass by. This would make sense, as almost all of the Powers Division missions involve making a name for yourself, of course. And when they come to Primal Earth, that idea is only strengthened - while they would have been a group of ambitious people in Praetoria, just select individuals within the Powers Division who happen to be working together, they could come together as an actual team on Primal Earth.

They'd be a bit like the Avengers, in that the government would likely be supporting and monitoring them, perhaps sponsored by an individual or two who want to see heroes put in the spotlight even more, but again, they wouldn't be all about protecting civilians. They'd do that, but they'd do it in a very outrageous, look-at-me-I'm-an-awesome-hero way. Smile for the cameras as you punch a bad guy in the face, essentially. Granted, they might grow into your more typical heroes as time goes on, which could just lead to that much more character development - there could be schisms, arguments, fights for the spotlight, etc. You know the deal.

So. While this might have deviated from my initial intention to have a group that would be like... the equivalent of the Avengers in COH, I actually like this idea more. I personally believe that it's a nice deviation from the vast majority of, though wonderful, 'typical' SG's, fighting only for the good of society. Yeah. Here's hoping this generates some interest, as I'm personally quite fond of this idea, and I'd love to run with it. =D
  17. Tsukasa_NA

    A possible idea.

Hi there, Virtue! Now, this idea has probably been done to death, but I thought I'd ask it anyway, because I'm desperate. =P. So, as a relative newcomer to Virtue, I only have one character that I play regularly, who, though fun, can get tedious to play at times. Of course, the logical solution would be to just make another character, but I can't get the idea out of my head of wanting to level my next character as part of a team.

So, Virtue, I come to you. I was essentially hoping to form an rp static team in much the same line as the Avengers, the Ultimates, etc. etc.: a group of individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds, possibly sanctioned by the government. My personal opinion is that it would be insanely fun to level these characters together right from the get-go, and perhaps form a supergroup in the long run with them at the center - essentially, have the ability to play a group of characters from their first meeting, form relationships, friendships, rivalries, etc, and eventually make something out of it.

If such a thing doesn't interest anyone but me, that's completely understandable. I just thought that I would propose the idea, as I would very much like to get another character going, and have yet to be part of any rping outside of random encounters in-game, for the most part. So yes! If you're interested, just post here with what sort of character you might be thinking of making (I personally like the idea of starting in Praetoria, simply because that offers a wider variety of ATs and more interesting missions, imo), and we'll see what we can make of it!

tl;dr: I want to make a static team that will eventually blossom into a potential sg, with the ability to form relationships and whatnot from the very beginning. Please don't throw kittens at me. =D.
  18. I'd be up for this! Depending on who else joins up, I'd probably end up making either a TA/A Defender or a Axe/WP Brute, whichever would be needed more. But either way, count me in on this for sure. =D
  19. Right off the bat, I'd just like to say that this is more of a curiosity question than anything else, and if it's been asked before (which it likely has), I'm just going to apologize right now. =P.

    But yeah.

So I'm no stranger to RP'ing - I've been doing it for a few years now via several forum-based RPG's and whatnot. But for whatever reason... I just can't seem to come up with a character concept that I really want to stick with in-game. I have ideas, and I think they'll be good, but I can just... I can't ever really connect with the characters I try to make.

So I'm coming to you guys.

I was wondering where you guys get your character concepts/inspiration from? What gets your creative minds working, and all that jazz? I mean, I love COH, and I really love the vibe here on Virtue, but I just feel like I'm the odd one out because I can't come up with a good, solid character to RP.

So, any of you guys willing to share your muses/inspirations/mystical treatments for coming up with characters? =P.

    New to Virtue

Thanks, guys. ^^. One thing that I've noticed is that almost EVERYONE has a bio for their character. Which is awesome. Having more depth than just powers and a good costume has always been something I've wanted to see, and it's awesome to know that I'm not the only one. XD.
  21. Tsukasa_NA

    New to Virtue

Hi there, everyone. ^^. As someone that usually plays on Freedom, the concept of role-playing in-game is beyond me. I've done a lot of forum role-playing and whatnot, and the idea of taking that into the game universe is actually pretty exciting. All that said, I look forward to RP'ing with you guys, and I'm excited to be here.

All that said, and considering that introduction threads with no real point might be borderline-trolling, I do have a question. I haven't yet managed to figure out how people get the text to be italicized, as opposed to being in the regular chat format.

Bob laughs, and sticks his phone in his pocket. "Nice to meet you." as opposed to [Local] Bob: *laughs, sticks phone in pocket.* "Nice to meet you."

A rather stupid question, but I can't seem to figure out how to do that. XD.
  22. If you guys are still accepting more people, I'd love to bring Amelia Richter, my Rad/Sonic Defender, or Tenaya, my SS/WP Brute (whichever one would work better) along for the ride. .
  23. I agree whole-heartedly with the super speed. It's nice and all, but it doesn't make much sense thematically for some speedsters to have their feet glowing an obnoxious shade of yellow whenever they move. Just my opinion.

    Online Store

Thanks for the quick reply. Can I get any other verifications, just to be safe? I don't want to go dish out 30 bucks, only to learn that it won't work. XD.
  25. Tsukasa_NA

    Online Store

This may be the wrong place to ask this, and if it is, I apologize, but I just had a question, as the title clearly implies, about the Online Store. Namely, I was wondering whether it would be possible to use a Visa gift card, as opposed to a traditional gift card, to pay for things (GR, booster packs, etc.). I only ask because, as someone that pays for my game via time cards and doesn't have a credit card, it'd be nice to be able to get the things that I can't seem to find in the stores. XD. Thanks in advance for the help. ^^.
