Of the Phalanx, my favorites are Positron and Synapse, due (in no small part) to how Troy Hickman characterized them in his Top Cow comics arc "Smoke and Mirrors." spite

    [/ QUOTE ]

Troy Hickman is a worthless piece of sli---oh, wait.

No, no, I was right the first time. Troy Hickman is a worthless piece of slime.
  2. [ QUOTE ]

EDIT: I didn't link Foo because just like Hickman he's self promoting.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not as dirty as it sounds.

So I go to punch Captain Mako in the stomach and he jumps up to attack me and I hit him right in the sardines. Well this one Arachnos Wolf Spider takes out a cell phone and says "Should I call Barracuda and tell her the date is off". Then Mako hits him in the sardines. Funniest thing I ever saw but Hickman leaves it out of the comic, geeeeez .

    [/ QUOTE ]

Those characters hadn't even appeared yet when I did the comic, ya tool.

Any decent bookstore can order it if they don't carry it. It's a "graphic novel", or at least that's the section of the store you'd find it in. The book is really a collection of the individual issues of the comic, which would technically make it an anthology, I suppose.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, that's what it was (one of the Eisner Awards it was up for was "Best Anthology," in fact). And technically it's a trade paperback (I think they generally use "graphic novel" for new material these days, don't they? I dunno. I still call 'em "funnybooks").
  7. [ QUOTE ]
Of course I have to FIND said book first.

I wonder if I can nab it at Bookman's...

And Troy, what'd you think of the screenshot?

    Michelle
    aka
    Samuraiko/Dark_Respite

    [/ QUOTE ]

Absolutely LOVED the screenshot. Really added to it.

And Michelle, if you can't find CG (and if you can't, tell your LCS to get with the program), you can currently buy it off Amazon for ten bucks (that's a third off the cover price) with free shipping on the order if it's over $25 (which works out nicely for folks who DON'T have the CoH comics, as you can get the collection of those plus CG for exactly $25!)

And if you want to read stuff from it before you buy a copy, let me know and I'll find the exact link from the Top Cow site where they give away a freebie story or two (sorry, feeling too lazy even to shamelessly plug this morning).

It strikes me that I shouldn't be complaining of something Hickman obviously approves of

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, it's probably your best bet, as I so rarely know what the hell I'm talking about.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
Actually, Troy, I don't know how you feel about stories like that. *sheepish grin*

    [/ QUOTE ]

If that's true, it means you haven't read Common Grounds, which would break my heart.

(Buries head in hands...weeps like a widder woman)
  10. Very nice job! And you know how I feel about stories with two characters talking. Can we get a screen shot of the character?

You've...apparently never read any of my comics before?

Ummm...no. I only became aware of your existance after seeing your performance in the adult film "Forrest Hump"...

Holy smokes! You actually write comics!

    *Skitters away*

    Wiseguy.

Although, given most of the comic writers I know, I'd probably skitter away, too...

I can't wait until Issue 2, when she has a dream-sequence battle against Galactus. Nekkid. That will rock.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yup. Twilight Guardian/Galactus is the next inter-company crossover...

    Hey, y'know...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, the dream-sequence (with Galctus or some other super threat) could have her teamed up with Spidey, Iron Man etc...and this will satisfy your fans who hunger for a more traditional superhero story, and the fact that it is a dream-sequence gets you out of trouble with your other fans who dig the reality grit of the book.

First idea is free, the second one will cost you.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If such a comic should ever come to be, I will dedicate it to you (and I'll use your real name...Grizelda Murphengorp).

    Troy, you shameless!

Did I do something for which I should feel ashamed?

Hmmm...where's the hoodie and the domino mask?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Fixt >.>

Was gonna try the other pitcher too, but it woulda been harder to make a hoodie look good on it lol.

Anyway, I went to my local comic shop and they hadn't ordered any copies of Twilight Guardian so I made sure that he would. Looks like I get to wait two weeks til I get to read the whole story.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Ha! Classic.

Regarding the comics shop, this is why writing comics can be a tough road, paved with heartache and Ramen noodles.

Just read the 5 page teaser, I definitely am gonna go pick up a copy. I doubt I'll do any fanart for you since my art isn't exactly exposure worthy yet (maybe in the future once I get better and it would do me good to have my work out there). But the comic is great and I must read it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thanks! I just wish I could draw AT ALL. I'm a whiz at costume design (it's rare that I lose a costume contest under Atlas), but my artwork gives stick figures a bad name. I think it dates back to my weaning period...
  20. Hey, folks, as a few of you may know, my new comic Twilight Guardian is on stands now (part of Top Cow's new Pilot Season voting). What you may not know is that I've just created a blog specifically devoted to TG (info, Q&A, anecdotes, behind-the-scenes stuff, etc.). You can find it here.

The reason I'm posting in this forum is that I thought it would be fun to run some fan artwork on the blog. It doesn't pay anything (though I guess I could sing you to sleep...after the lovin'), but it's exposure.

If you're interested, here's some reference art. (though of course the best reference would be...buying the darned comic!)

Any illos can be sent to me at crullerscomic@aol.com. Hope to hear from ya!

Just taking a moment to add my thanks and support...

Thanks sincerely for building, maintaining, and adding even more still to this great pastime through some very "skinny" days.

I can just see in a few years time...
Troy Hickman's new graphic novel called, "15"---an adaptation based on the graphic novel "300."

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm already working on a graphic novel called "15," but it's an autobiographical piece involving my humiliation at the hands of Chris Hanson and Dateline NBC...

And more to the point, the folks behind this wonderful game never cease to amaze me, and I sincerely thank them for countless hours of fun and excitement.

What if I just look on the wall or cell phone nearby to see the time? Do I win anything?

    [/ QUOTE ]

What is this, the dark ages? lol Why waste all that time turning your head by as much as 25 or 30 degrees when all it takes is 2 simultaneous keypressed and never ever removing your eyes from the screen again as long as you live? ONE OF US! ONE OF UUUUUUS!

Thanks for all the comments everyone! What time is it? We can all now say with reasonable certainty!

You know, this thread could really use some intelligence and wit. Where's that Hickman?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sorry. I was busy testing my new time-telling system. It's based on a 20-hour day, and I count them on my fingers and toes.
