  1. This is a slight duplicate of a post I just made but I thought here was the best place for it.

How about an ice tanker power that acted like the new blaster power based on the HPs. Instead of a damage boost the ice tanker would received a defense boost once the hps got to a certain level and would continue to get extra defense as the HPs went down, so that potentially you could have 1 HP but put even +2 AVs to the to-hit floor.

    - It would be possible code widse because of the new blaster power
    - it would fit the all defensive theme of ice tankers
    - The 5% to-hit ensures that even with massive defense we could still be easily killed on an un lucky streak
    - It would give ice tankers a unique power (maybe tier 9)
    - It would bring us back onto par with the other tankers (in the +32 game if it was tier 9)
    - It would decrease the chance of being 2 shotted
    - The 5% would mean it wouldn't allow us to herd

Unfortunately theres also about as much chance of the devs doing it as there is for me to be the next man on the moon but hey!! :-(
  2. Just a thought....

It seem sthat the I5 results are showing that solo we are at most adequate but in teams we are useless. Would it be possible for the devs to give Ice tankers some kind of boost based on the number of players on a team, for instance a 3%-5% for each team mate in a leadership sized player based area.

21%-35% extra defense in an 8 man team wouldn't seem like too much of a bosst considering the various luck enhancements. This wouldn't encourge herding as you'd be dragging the whole team around with you.

Not sure whether the game mechanics would allow such a thing and I'm pretty certain that the devs don't even see a need for it but I thought I'd make the suggestion anyway :-) I wont hold out any hope though, instead I'll make sure I have contacts in every zone so I can keep stocked up on purples!!
  3. time ticking on and by the looks of it no significant or even useful changes on the way I guess its the end of ice tankers as we know it :-(

I think all of the suggestions have been great on here and thanks to everyone who's been fighting so hard to make ice playable in I5 I think it's time we look at the reality of the situation however and realise that the fat lady has finished he warm up and is about to let rip.

As a final note (that will make no difference what-so-ever but I want to get it off my chest)

I'm dead against and significat resistances, Ice is Defense.

Surely an increase of EA to 1.1% would be a balanced level this (6 slotted) would give us 2.42 per mob, giving us a maximum of 33.88 which is better than swallowing a small luck and with 8 mobs around us would give us 19.36. It would make EA an actual defense power worth slotting again (just)

Right thats off my chest now, I'll go back to working out what new AT to roll in my ice tankers spot on Infinity.
  4. With August slipping away fast and now even Circeus is sounding despondant even after the communication channell opened upo with Statesman, I starting to think that us VERY FEW ice/ice tanks are going to have to tough out I5 until the devs decide in I6 to finally take a proper look at the set and actually make us the Defense leaders.

It does seem that this magical 55DEF seems to be the target that they are aiming for but its logic still evades most of us and despite Statesmans increased activity in this thread and the couple of minor tweaks I really feel that it is going to be some weeks/months before the devs appreciate the actual performance of resistance and some defense against the Defensive only sets.

I can not honestly see anything happening now that will give us back some of the defense we so desparatly need and we will be rendered almost obsolete in I5 purely because apart from theme or RP reasons there really is no solid argument to play an ice/ice tanker.

I really hope that Statesman or some of the devs have/are currently testing some Ice/Ice tanks in there internal environment to test them against the other tanker sets, and I would really like them to issue a statement saying how their alternatives fair beacuse if they BELIEVE that what they are currently doing is balancing tankers then WOW I want to play the versionof COH that they are playing! because it sounds a hell of a lot different to the one we are playing.

I look forward to the continued tweaks that we will get in the run up to I5 and I suppose for those I need to be thankful but I am still disapointed that we have to keep discussing Ice/* weaknesses over and over again seeminly to no real outcome.

As a slight aside I must warn you all that my record in COH at picking the AT's that get nerfed is currently running at 100%, I even started playing the builds that aren't popular in the hope that they would eventually get a buff but thats never happened so I will need to start posting on the boards to let people know what I'm creating so you all know to avoid them!! :-P

    Claws/Regen
    Katana/SR
    Storm/Rad
    Inv/SS
    Ice/FF
    Ice/Ice (tanker)

Its a sad list really :-)
  5. These accuracy changes affect every AT equally not just Ice tankers.

More importantly these don't address the actual questions that we are asking regarding Wet Ice and Energy absorbtion that, on test, provide pretty much neglgible defense and seriously weaken Ice Tankers.

Please could you comment on these powers and the changes in I5 letting us know whether the current situation on test was as intended or whether the defnse component will be increased again before I5 goes live.

These are our real concerns, and these are what we deserve answers to.

    The Teleport FAQ

I don't know where the 300 feet has come from you actually start being able to port 100feet, with one DO range enhancement on I can now go 120feet but the 300 feet is nonsense, or at least it is a lvl 15!
