The big day is coming up next weekend and we have completed our timeline for the evening's activities! I hope to see as many of your heroes in Galaxy City as possible this Saturday!
All times Eastern
8:00PM: Best of Each Archetype Costume Contest. Winners of each AT (that means, the best scrapper, best tank, etc) will receive 200 million influence in prizes. Any Honorable Mentions will receive 50 million influence. Contestants will be asked to line up sharply at 8.
8:30PM: Judging will conclude. Winners will be announced and prizes given.
9:00PM: The six AT winners will compete in best overall Costume Contest. Judging will commence immediately after the announcement of the winners of the Best of AT contests. The overall winner will be announced at or shortly after 9pm
10:00PM: Best Patriotic costume. Show up wearing your best patriotic look. All patriots are welcome; you need not be in an American patriotic costume to win. The winner will receive 750 million influence. Honorable mentions will receive 75 million.
Throughout the evening; starting at 8PM and ending at 11PM; players may participate in an AE mission authored by a member of the American Legion supergroup. Players who complete the mission will receive 10 million influence. We also have a bonus planned for the end of the AE mission; if you are successful in completing the bonus you will receive an additional 10 million influence. This prize is awarded per person per team; so whether you solo or take an eight man team you can win up to 20 million influence.
There will also be trivia all evening long. First correct respondents will win one million influence. The subjects will be American History, Comic trivia, and City of Heroes game trivia.
At the end of the night; we will hold a raffle for all heroes still in attendance.
Once again this takes place in Galaxy City Freedom Court...hope to see you all there! -
Congratulations on your 5th Anniversary Knights. I will try to be there.

Those of you that attended the Winter Gala last weekend may have taken the opportunity to try an AE mission arc challenge for a prize of influence. I am posting this to let you and others know that if you enjoyed the arc or perhaps if you did not get a chance to do the arc; it is still posted. While you will not receive the prize for completing the arc; it is a fun little arc and would be worth a try for those of you out there starving for content or just looking for something to do.
The story was created by Mecha-Stripe of the American Legion SG and he did a very nice job with it. The arc id is 355620. I encourage you all to give it a try and give him some feedback. I have gone through the arc a few times and enjoyed it. Its a good arc to run with a team; but soloing is possible for those of you that are all that and a bag of potato chips.
Have fun and Merry Christmas! -
Could he be a Pirate Ninja? Or would such a combination create a tear in space/time?

I'm looking forward to listening in this evening.

I will definitely be listening in...sounds like a fun evening.

Hello everyone,
My name is American Legion, leader of the American Legion family of supergroups on the Virtue server. I am sure I have crossed paths with many of you ingame. You do not find me often on these forums because, frankly, the textual jousting that is common place on forums in general is not my usual idea of a good time.
I want to take this opportunity to send out some public thank you's for everyone who attended and assisted with this event. We had some curve balls thrown at us with the Virtue server crash of 2009 but all in all the event was well attended and I would like to think everyone that did attend had a great time. We were able to give out billions in prizes, have multiple contests and challenges, some great socializing, and a lot of other fun things. Any time you can pull that off I think its well worth the work and effort that goes into these type of events.
Never ending thanks and praise goes to The Cape Radio; DJ Angel, Agent Crypto, Shecky, Pheonyx, One Hit Wonder, Sultry Siren, and all the other DJ's who donated time, energy and their talents as auctionable items. The Cape Radio staff consists of quality individuals who everyday bring a little music and entertainment into our gaming lives and ask for nothing in return. Every player on Virtue benefits from their talents and presence; and we do not thank them enough.
To my Legionnaires: Every time I ask you guys to do something crazy you consistently pull it off. I know I will forget someone as I begin this list but you all know you have my undying gratitude and respect. Big thanks goes to Mecha-Stripe, American Wonder, American Allstar, Shadow Kyo, Shadowstryke, Justice Maiden, Exemplar of Justice, Maxsun, and everyone else who contributed. I know I am leaving some of you out but its 0130 here and I ain't as good as I once was. Little country music humor there for Allstar.
And of course thanks to everyone who attended. A party cannot be successful if it does not have party goers there to participate in the contests, trivia, and auctions as well as the general atmosphere of making it a party! Big thanks to my coalition partners who showed up in a big way as usual; especially Hero Dawn and The Justice Girls.
Lastly, a word to those of you who may not have appreciated the Winter Gala. I will not repeat the sentiments of the messages that made their way to me this weekend because that is beneath me. This event was open to all: Roleplayers, Non-roleplayers, catgirls and catboys, demons, heroes, villains, even Detra. For those of you that expressed a disdain for the event without even having the courtesy of showing up and giving us a chance; you have only hurt yourself. You have deprived yourself the opportunity of getting together with your fellow players, socializing and enjoying yourselves on this our last weekend before Christmas. You may have met someone new, or re-connected with someone you used to know, and you might just maybe have had a nice time. That having been said, neither I or my Legion hold grudges. I hope we can work together in the future and I will see you at the next event.
Good night Virtue, till we meet again.

See you all there! -

Its a black tie affair...people will don their costumes to fit the appropriate category for each contest. The people not participating in the contests will of course remain in formal wear; or so we hope. The party, formal or not, is for fun. Costume contests are fun. Therefore its definitely not out of place. At least thats my thought on it.
-
I'll be there with bells on! Or pink on! Or pink bells!
-
Thanks to everyone who came! We had some fun and gave away a bunch of influence and some IO's and HO's! Hope you all enjoyed yourselves!

Something to be aware of; there will be three different costume contests throughout the night. The criteria for the first contest will be best overall costume. The second costume contest will be judged based on best patriotic costume (Not specifically American-All patriotic entries will be considered). The final contest will be for the best civil servant costume; i.e.; policeman, fireman, etc. Biographies are not required but might be helpful in a close competition; especially if it ties into the look of your character.
See you all there!
