Tuesday November 23rd Best Bird Costume contest!

Just a reminder there will be no contest on Thursday due to the Thanksgiving Holiday.

The event was great Mystic...had a wonderful time.

The American Legion will host a Christmas Costume Contest event on December 26, 2010 in the Pocket D/Ski Chalet. We will begin promptly at 6 PM EST and end at 9 PM EST. There will be trivia throughout the night on the theme of Christmas--winners of trivia will receive 2 million influence.

Each costume contest will have a first, second and third place winner. The prize amounts break down as follows:

1st Place: 250 Million Influence
2nd Place: 175 Million Influence
3rd Place: 100 Million Influence

Each contest will have a theme. The contests will be judged based on costumes and not biographies; however in the event of a tie vote biographies may be used as the basis for breaking the tie. The categories are as follows:

1. Best Santa or Mrs. Claus Costume Contest
This will actually be two contests in one. There will be a first second and third place winner for Santa and for Mrs. Claus. We will hold them concurrently in the interest of time.

2. Best Toy Costume Contest
Contestants will be asked to dress as their favorite toy.

3. Best Christmas Colors Contest
Contestants may choose between two color combinations to compete in this contest. Best Red/Green or Best Silver/Gold. You may not combine these and have a costume that has for example red, silver and gold and be considered for a prize. White and Black are acceptable as accent colors. Hair and skin color do not have to conform to the Red/Green or Silver/Gold rule.

4. Best Winter Theme
Your best winter themed costume. This will not necessarily have to be a Christmas themed costume; for example you may dress as a skier and be considered for one of the prizes. However you may also dress as a snowman or Christmas related winter costume and also qualify as a contestant.

5. Best Spirit of Christmas Costume
This is a catch all category; any costume that fits into the theme of Christmas for example an elf, reindeer, etc.

6. Best Interpretation of a Christmas Carol
This contest is open to teams but you may enter as a solo contestant. Your best interpretation of any Christmas carol, hymn, etc

An announcement regarding the costume contests...next week which is Thanksgiving in the United States we will not be holding a Thursday costume contest. We will hold our usual themed contest on Tuesday however. This is so that all players may enjoy the holiday with family...I may increase prize amounts for the Tuesday contest as a result so keep your eyes open for that!

Our next contest is next Tuesday at 10 PM EST in Atlas Park as usual. Being a Tuesday..it is a themed contest. Next Tuesday's theme is Shades of Grey. To be considered for a prize contestants must be in shades of grey only; black or white may be used as an accent. This does not include skin or hair color. Good luck!
