Realistically, any player who starts playing now, will actually probably never get the 60 month vet power ever, no matter what he or she does, given the average lifespan of most MMOs.

    LOLOLOLOLOL

COH isn't an 'average' MMO. I think the mission architect will bear that out.

While I enthusiastically hope CoH is around in another 5 years, I wouldn't be hugely surprised if it isn't. I mean it's not inconceivable: Everquest is still chugging along 10 years after it went live. But certainly most games don't have a 10 year life, so the odds are that COH won't last that long.

Certainly if the devs can keep pulling off enhancements like the MA, it bodes well for the future of the game!

This. The game could be around for years to come but i personally find it unlikely that it will be around in 4 or 5 years.

EQ has the benefit of being an SOE product. SOE MMO's are much like zombies. They do not die. They just live on in a horrendous form of undeath begging for death.
  2. I'll really only use tickets to buy unlockable content (which if it's the same ratio of ticket drop on live, then i can earn everything in like a day.) After that i'll probably just do random bronze rolls. I don't really use IO's, and 4k for the gold roll seems overpriced.
  3. Probably get flamed for this but it really seems like HoF is just the poor mans DC. The off-beat cheap brand if you will.

The "store bought brand" to DC's "name brand". At the very least i'd prefer if HoF came before DC on the arc list search.

    Just one players thought.
  4. I'm laughing and crying on the inside that devs choice is superior to the will of the players (HoF). I noticed that HoF wasn't on the front page either.

I do hope this is changed.
  5. Wow i think the 60 month thing is a terrible terrible idea. I am really shocked the devs would do something like that and my faith is highly shaken in them. Freeing up a powerslot is MASSIVELY game altering for some sets, as far as i am concerned.

Flame away, won't change my opinion that this was a horrid idea. What with the broken promise of not game altering rewards from vet rewards, i am wondering how much longer till game balance changes for IO's. And some seem to be misunderstanding why this is game altering to us. Or maybe i just misread what this means, but not having to take a pre-requiste seems massive. I'd care less if you could have flight or tp by 8 with taking prerequistes but skipping them just seems massively unfair.

I gotta say CO and DCUO are now looking alot more appealing.
  6. Great for those who will use it i guess. I never and won't ever use voicechat myself. Typing works fine.

    No.

I started playing the game because I enjoyed the cooperative environment. I can't think of anything further from that cooperative enviroment than PvP.

That's true. High level Arena teams that practice with each other almost everyday are horribly uncooperative with one another. It's a good thing PvPers are horrible people who only enjoy beating up small children and puppies.

    Sure is!
  8. Oh GOD no. No way in seven hells.
  9. Wow. Im amazed at how terrified some people are of nerfs that they would shun someone for showing that they can solo an AV. *shakes head* Grats Ultimus!
