... Rapiers followed suit even farther than longswords though, rather than attempting to make the entire blade into a weapon, focused upon using only the last 6 inches to make precision strikes for light slashing but mostly piercing thrusts to important portions of the anatomy. Of course, rapiers weren't really much use against somebody in full plate armor, mainly because a rapier can't really do much to riveted steel with chain and leather as the nominal weak points within the confines of an actual melee.

Rapiers were also mostly designed and used after the introduction of portable firearms to the European battlefield and soldiers started moving away from suits of full plate towards lighter forms of protection. Full suits of plate armour, though still in use, were considered more decorative than practical as they were no match to those early firearms. -
As is typical in one of these threads, I'm going to take on the role of someone who defends the Dev's choices no matter what. No. Matter. What.

Umm so Im running the Issue 16 beta for the first time.. I figured Id test the new difficulty settings.. jacked up both to the maximum allowed but when I entered the mission there wasnt a ton of bad guys.. just one.. Nemesis dressed in bib overalls he says hes going to make me squeal like a pig umm is this working as intended?
[/ QUOTE ]
And? What's the problem here? I thought people wanted more "adult content" in this game. What's more adult than Nem playing out his Deliverance fantasies on the player community?

I upped the difficulty to the max and the Atlas Statue just animated and threw the ball at me.
[/ QUOTE ]
So? I'm happy that the Atlas statue throws that globe at my scrapper. Finally a GM that might give me some problems while soloing!
Furthermore, these two items I've quoted are much needed changes in the game, and I applaud the mighty-devs-who-shall-remain-nameless-as-I-wish-not-their-awesome-CYBER-wrath for having the guts and determination to see their vision through, despite the loud whines of a few naysayers.
Also. This thread is full of win. -
mmmMMmmmmm cookies.
I want cookies.... who has cookies?! -

My two favourite names for characters:
The Black Marketeer (created with the sole intent of making as much INF with the least amount of effort), and Bad Koi (my evil demon fish-man-thing). -
Yes I can trim your pet lion's nails, but first let me put on my special meat-jacket.

There is the possibility that the servers are down for so long because they're slamming in the booster along with i15... slim possibility, but one none-the-less.
[/ QUOTE ]
There's nothing to "slam in." The booster stuff is already in the game files. All they have to do is put it up for sale at the NCSoft store and make sure the purchase enables your account to access it. They've already done what they need to do to the game for it to be there.

I was making excuses really as to why it's taking so long. The alternative is that the dev-team are play tiddlywinks and chuckling at us while they do their "tests".
Also, this delay only spells one thing: D-O-O-M. Uh huh. -

I'm also confused as to how you could be producing less then you're consuming. You're reaching 50, building with sets you want and have 50 mill to spare. What's the problem exactly?
I can see how you'd want to have hundreds of millions (to billions) of INF sitting about if you could have a room in your base wherein your INF amount translates into piles of coins that you can swim min Scrooge McDuck style.... -
I've started a toenail trimming business while waiting for the dev-team to sort out their stuff.
So far today I've had few customers and no injuries. I am pleased. -

QR: Fulmen, I'm fascinated by the INF=INF exchange business you've set up here, but I'm curious, how do you determine the exchange between INFluence to INFamy?
I would think the numbers would be slanted such that Influence would be exchanged at a higher rate against Infamy as there is much more of it floating about. -
When I read the OP and following comments I was momentarily confused... until I saw the date. This thread teaches us that any good suggestion could be made game-fact in about 2 to 3 years.
-
Hrm... I think I should try this with my Dom and his Wormhole power....

Have you considered "/e walllean"ing against famous Paragon landmarks? Prefably someplace public where you can be seen moodily leaning against cede landmark. Maybe add an AFK message with some sort of rebellious and hip phrase to spice up the walllean.
Or, you can travel around the city taking pictures of all the billboards before they become extinct. Than pay NCSoft to put up a billboard of the commemorative pictures you took. -
This is actually one of the best suggestions I've seen to allow for cross factional teaming.... I'm in awe of it's elegance and simplicity.

Been listening to this interview but I got just one burning question, Why does Positron keep saying issue 13 instead of issue 12? Like he said the VEATs were for issue 13 eventhough they are in issue 12, he said issue 13 on alot of other things.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think it was just a mental slip-up. Gotta remember, they work sometimes several issues into the future. So you say i13 around the office all the time, and it can come out instead of saying i12. Y'know?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, that's pretty much it. Positron is knee deep in I13 work at the moment (fleshing out exactly what is going to be in it, and such) while the rest of us work on finishing up I 12.
[/ QUOTE ]
Here's a thought for all us content-craving players:
With all the new minions added to the dev team, we might see larger issues on a regular basis as they have entire teams working simultaneously on several issues at once!
That, or the new hires are just glorified gophers, mostly assigned to fetching cheetos, pie and mountain dew for the dev team. -
Making the PvP zones more interesting and dynamic would be a benefit to the PvP community, but I seriously doubt it would pull any PvE'ers out of the game into those zones. CoX is seemingly made up mostly of folks who just don't want to PvP, and all the bells and whistles in the world won't entice them into a zone where they can and will get beat down repeatedly by competitive players with UBER builds or by multiple players tag-beating them.
For many PvE'ers, being defeated before you can even walk 10ft does not equal fun.
