Unfortunately I have the head so far along now.
I wish I would have seen you post sooner. Ahh well, like I said, I may redo it anyway now.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Totally understandable ... and I wouldn't want to redo it either. One thing I do have a tendency to do though is to try different approaches on different parts of a picture. Pick a color, like blue, and try a technique on it. Then if you want to try something slightly different, you give it a go on the red or the yellow ... or simply on the belt ... most approaches blend well together.
  2. Yup really nice. I love the Graviton Girl's shield.

I just find it amazing how much people can put in a picture with only 2 tones of every color ... I cheat by blending so much that you have no idea where it starts. That line the defines the shadow is ... well I would need practice. All that to say ... great job! looking great!

A tip ( if I may ), instead of using the dodge/burn combo (we all start with), I suggest you choose a color shade either darker or lighter (depending on if you are shading or highlighting) and use one of two approaches:
1- lay down that new selected color in the area you want to affect without trying to meld it into the existing color. Come back and use the smudge tool to blend the edge. (This is the base of the recommended approach used by much better colorists than I [read Veikira])
2- Paint that color on with a transparency of 90% for lighter colors and 95-98% for darker colors. This is what I have a tendency to use. Takes a little longer but you see the color come in and you can adjust as you lay it down. Finish off with the smudge tool to even everything out (because this has a tendency to leave some uneveness)
3- Combine these 2 ... (my next step) which I think would give even better results (for me).

Just a suggestion ... but you are doing great and its looking very nice.

Seriously TA, you can never have enough free art. From one Art [censored] to another.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Who ever said TAs art was free ... we all know some/most is but he get some really nice comissions too ... and well as long as you have money ... you can't have too many of those either.
  5. [ QUOTE ]
I say when there's no one left to commission....then it's probably a good time to stop.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I will disagree ... when there is no one left to commision ... its time for round 2, a second commission from each. I'll let you figure out what happens at the end of round 2.

    Ink a day ?

Nice job Spino ... really clean.
  7. Thornster

    I-?

Note to self: Never mention that no one except soandso has ever done art for you. You will always forget some and pay for it for ... .. . a loooooooooooooooooong time
  8. Thornster

    I-?

I actually drew the outline ... painted it black then I picked some features that I outlined and painted them the same color as the background ... then I drew the iPod on there. Not sure where you could get screenies .. I let iRox inspire me (see higher in the thread)

    I-?

Well I played a bit ... nothing great and I did it too quickly for it to be really clean but here is what I came up with

    I-Sin
  10. Thornster would be sipping a Stinger on the rocks standing in a group of chatting heroes where he would explain the mildly scientific parts of the conversation to the heroes with more brawns than wits.
  11. Yeah that is a great level of detail ... really impressive.

    Great piece.

    Congratulations.
  12. I like those animated versions ... great one Alex and great overall piece really.

Keep an eye out for those kitties ... you might regret what they try to get you to do, but yeah, in this case, faster is better.
  13. Made a desktop version for my friend ... thought I would share. Not that I think anyone might want this as a desktop but what the heck .. I have it.

    Jomaro Kindred?

    Hmm...lemme google that.

    [/ QUOTE ]

let me help you there ... www.mmoart.com

As for art ... I do prefer a certain level of quality but I love to see everything people come up with. As for what they choose to put in their Collection ... well ... whatever they like to see there is what they should put there ...

I love this place and the people we find here
  15. Well I will throw in my Happy B-day here!

    So Happy Birthday Jutebox!
  16. Really cool ... well hot ... oh ...

    Really sweet piece!
  17. Ok Alex and I agreed that Belle's left hand wasn't quite right. I just wasn't able to fix it. He sent me a new outline for it that I had to modify a bit (because she doesn't actually wear a glove). I also checked with Alex as to wether he was trying to have her holding a cup of hot chocolate or was that meant to be fire ... he confirmed .. fire. So I went back and did those changes.

So here is the real final piece for these Bell Twins:

    Normal Sized

My Working Size ( almost 1 Meg )

Great thanks to Alex and to all that commented on this. I did change that hand Alex, so I hope it is to your liking.
  18. Really cool piece Alex. I loved going through that whole process with everyone here.

I maintain that you are crazy ... but I love your craziness!

    Really cool !
  19. Really sweet ... I totally enjoyed that. Thanks
  20. I love that piece. Nice work Rox! Those colors look fabulous!

    /clap

  21. I was the original but others have taken it up since then which is really cool.

Nice work Antihiro, I love seeing it that way.
  22. I play so many female toons that my brain has 2 slots: one for player gender and one for toon gender. Player gender has a default: Male, unless the chat is interesting and intelligent then it becomes the toon's gender.

    Ink a day ?

    we can all color it

I don't think there is a cota we must not exceed .. hehe

Alot of pieces have been colored by multiple artists and its cool to see the different styles.
