Wrong. It's right for them to hold the TF badges back.

See, back when you were running around and getting these things, they were considerably easier than they are now on Test. If they datamined, then you'd be getting credit for something that you essentially didn't do -- the TFs, in makeup and difficulty, are very different from the previous ones.

So, since they're increasing the difficulty, they'll have to hold the TF badges back for only those teams that -prove- that they've earned them.

Wrong. They completed the Task Force. Just because the conditions changed AFTER they completed it doesn't mean they didn't complete it.

Your logic could just as easily say those that got their Zookeeper badges should have them revoked because in I5 getting 10,000 monkeys will not be as easy.

And every time I start in Atlas, I'm reminded again of WHY I go with Galaxy, because I end up with a mission at level 3 to trek all the way to the west end of the map, over that huge dropoff into the level 6 territory.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I learned very early the secret of power lines. In SW Atlas, you can usually hop from the wall at "the dropoff" to the top of the warehouse that is next to it, then there are power lines that lead from that warehouse to the warehouse across the street in the far corner. You avoid nearly everything in that SW corner of Atlas this way, and can drop right into your mission door easily. Even if you do draw attention, you're still out of melee range unless one of the villains finds a way up to the power lines.

Let's just hope the devs don't put some sort of DoT effect on power lines now.
  3. What I mean is for instance, NPCs wandering around KR would start saying things like "The Clockwork have been more voracious in their appetite for scrap metal." Maybe have clockwork all over KR start running ala ambush to one of the spawn sites.

This might be too much of a clue, but considering how often Paladin is sighted after construction, maybe heroes need a few more clues.

I'd also love to see something in the zone or at least that district, change when a giant monster appears. Using the Monster Construction as an example, maybe have the road blocks appear, enemies/citizens in the very nearby area (200 feet?) running away. It just struck me as odd one time when I was involved in a Monster Construction battle one time to see NPCs wandering past this immense battle and not even noticing. Then seeing the tram breeze past as if life is just normal. Finally, I noticed a group of Skulls across the street just standing around. All these little things just struck me as odd. I know even if I were a level 6 Skull and I saw that many Clockwork building something 20 feet tall, I'd hightail it outta there.

Same with the other zone events. Something in them to clue what's going on. Maybe with the (unconfirmed) upcoming Steel Canyon event we can see fire trucks on the streets, or police cars in Skyway, or maybe even a police boat in IP for Lusca.

This may be my imagination, but I think the number of times the purple-glowy clockwork spawn may have something to do with how often Paladin spawns. I believe this because he spawned twice today before I found a construction site suddenly built in the SW corner of KR.

    I think.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sorry, but no. The Monster Construction can/will/and has appeared out of thin air, regardless of what is/was there. There can be 3 level 15 princes, or a lone cog. The presence of heroes has no impact, either. Junkpiles mean nothing, too. Oscillators zapping the towers east of the police station means nothing, also. Just a very very clever spawn instance of Clockwork.

Monster Construction appearance is completely random, and there is no ramp-up to it.

But ramp-up to monster appearances WOULD be great.

HI all...just wanted to say i have killed babbage 2 times and NO badge ummm is it bugged or what? Was not easy to take that bugger down nether lol..

    [/ QUOTE ]

Only the hero/team that inflicted the most damage to Babbage when it goes down will get the badge. Everyone else is boned.

Regarding Gearsmasher, I discovered the best place to earn that badge is to get the "recover clockwork piece" mission. There's a box of parts that makes this very easy.

So losts of times, especially in the Southern most spawn location, you can see one group of Clocks spawn but you wait and wait but it seems like it's just the one group that's gonna spawn there. Why is that?

    [/ QUOTE ]

The Paladin construction is completely random. Doesn't matter what is there to start with. Heroes wandering through the construction sites will not impact its appearance, etc. You can just be standing there and it can plop down right on top of you. Much like a mob of Trolls in the Hollows. Also, clockwork zapping the high-tension towers in Aqueduct doesn't mean anything, either. It's just a clever and unique spawning of enemies. Much like Skulls or Hellions breaking into a car/building (or even tree or a park bench, I've seen).

    Paladin is about two things.

Patience and good networking. If you want Paladin, be ready to wait for him. You might get lucky, but in general, you'll be camping. For networking, well, that's what the monster channels are all about. If you DO spot him, advertise!
  7. I've seen oscilloscopes zap towers in other non-Paladin spawn locations, too. I think it's just part of their normal animation, like sprockets carrying beams, etc.

I'm looking forward to a chance at getting the Knight Errant badge, as well. I'll check on the spawn-points if I'm in KR, but I don't know if I'm going to camp.

While street-sweeping early Saturday morning, I ran across Paladin being constructed, but before I could even type /b he was complete, and running off to the NE corner of the Gish.
    Paladin Fight 1

    Paladin Fight 2

A group of us took him down in about 10 minutes, but it was mostly Captain Retro (the guy holding Paladin's attention in both pics), that did it.
